Brooks says...

With Boris Mironov battling the flu and Vladimir Malakhov perhaps ailing, the Blueshirts are recalling youngsters Bryce Lampman and Lawrence Nycholat - neither of whom has played an NHL game - from Hartford

Can anyone confirm that? The NYR website doesn't say anything.

Didn't Bobo take the pre-game skate yesterday? And what the hell is wrong with Vlad that isn't usually wrong with him?

I've seen Nycholat play a lot. He is not our answer to a stay-at-home defenseman. He likes to get involved on the offensive side of things but can't skate that great. That's a problem when you are on the smaller side. He does have a nice slapshot. Anything can happen. It will be interesting to see how he reacts. I'm guessing that he will probably be thinking more defensively tonight.

I'm glad Lampman is back and ready to play. The word was that he would have made the team if he didn't get injured in Training Camp. I would hate to see another Kloucek on our hands.
