What I love most about Parise is what Sutter said....His work ethic...it is just ridiculous how much that guy works...and he has a lot of talent so if he can keep it up....HE will be the next Superstar of that team :-)

Great game by the Devils and especially Parise and Brodeur! Parise deserves to make the All-Star team this year and so does Brodeur. For sure Brodeur will make the team but Parise has to get the votes now. He is a future captain of this Devils team as I said and mentioned many times here. I think Parise would make a great captain like a Joe Sakic type player on and off the ice. Parise is only going to get better and that is scary.:naughty:

He is on pace right now for 92 points...this is going to be an exciting season for sure. I love him paired with Elias and Gionta, the speed, skill, and work ethic is there and I think we finally have our forwards clicking. Its funny how Zubrus admitted that he couldn't keep up with Elias and Gionta, and since being switched with Parise, the team has turned around.

OT: I love the way Weekes is constantly one of the most energetic and congratulatory guys on our bench when we score. He has been so much more than I ever would have thought when I first read we signed him. :handclap:

Rookie year for Zach: 32 points
Sophomore year: 62 points
3rd year pace: 92 points

...kid's on pace to increase another 30 points. Right now the only player drafted in 2003 with more points than Zach this season is Mike Richards with 30. The best part is he's already turning into a superstar and we have him at only about 3mil for the next 4 years. I understand not giving him the C right now because of his age, but on a younger team than the devils he can EASILY be captain right now.

The thing that is so special about Zach is just what Sutter said; he has an elite skill set (as shown by his breakaway goal) and his work ethic is just amazing (as shown by his diving pass to Gio against philly). He just doesn't give up, and he won't be outworked. You watch zach's game and he does not play like a 5'11 player either. He lead the team in hits in the playoffs and he's actually leveled some players this year where I stop and say "whoa...that was zach??"

I can go on and on, but he's about as complete of a player there is. You can't ask for anything more from him. Easily one of the best thing's to happen to this organization is when Louie Lams and co. capitalized on a lot of teams stupidity and moved up to draft him.

First Devils hat trick I actually got to toss my hat for.

Although I'm rather high up at the Rock, I hope someone had the sense to toss it - whomever that person I hit with it in the lower level :naughty:

richards is an assistant captain why cant parise? (not that i personally would make him)

Prise will be the captain very soon. We just have better vets than the Flyers. Elias, Lagenbrunner, Madden, Pano and White.

I wonder if, as GM and President, Lou has veto power on things like this. :biglaugh:

His shooting percentage is a very sustainable 12.37 right now (12.55 last year) which bodes well for his current pace of 40ish goals. (Elias, during the best years of the A line, shot over 18%)

It's just a shame Zach is too small to play in the NHL.

I have been watching Parise since his college days too and knew this kid was going to be an NHL star. I am a huge UND fan and also have a Parise UND Frozen Four jersey that I will be wearing to the games this season. I need Parise to personally sign that jersey for me this week at work.:) It will be nice to see him on Monday.

Zach Parise is awesome! Definitely the present and future of the Devils! I really hope he follows the ways of Marty with Loyalty and stay with the Devils for a long time! Parise gets better and better as gaines experience and I love that he plays hard each shift.

I remember people here flaming me when I was comparing Zach to Crosby. While he may not be that dynamic center that Crosby is, I believe he has the hockey skills to be as good a scorer as crosby. What Crosby has with hockey vision Zach makes up for in effort.

I believe Parise has been compared to a so-called poor mans version of Crosby. There style of play is even similar and I would say that the both play with about the same determination and work ethic.

Well Zach is on track for a 38 g 50 a this season, About 88 pts.

According to TSN he is the 6th best player in the NHL this season.

Parise is by far the best player the Devils have and IMO he should be the Captain today. If Lou can't sign him LOU should be shot but then Parise may want to play on a Cup Challenging Team.
