OT: Age? (Want to get an idea of fanbase average age)

NJDevilsFan21

Pretty simple question, but I'm just curious of the average age of our fan base. With the success we've had in the late 90s and early millennium, and the fact that we didn't become a team until 1982, I would think we should have a relatively young fan base compared to the majority of the league.

I'm 24, but I don't think the entire fan base is on HF - so I doubt that you will get a proper average fan age.

Sorry, didn't try to offend you there. I was just splitting it up by 5 years (actually meant to put 15-19).

I'm 24, but I don't think the entire fan base is on HF - so I doubt that you will get a proper average fan age.

I know, but I was hoping to get 'enough' results to get a good idea. :) Currently writing a paper about the Devils and this information could provide to be useful.

24....i think were are all somewhat in the same age catagory, which makes sense due to the Devils being a young org. We get a lotta crap about attendance and such, but people dont recognize that the devils were placed in a saturated hockey market.

In a couple of years when we all buy houses get married and really start to make some money, I feel our numbers will only increase, and I think Lou and co. know this. They have done everything like winning championships, new arena, great drafting to keep us involved and intereseted, when we were young to become diehards(at least I am and I know most of you are as well). The Devils Org was a Project and I think they knew it would take time for us to grow up with the team, and by them giving us all these great years we WILL BUY BACK INTO THEW TEAM.

Remeber most people in jersey and new york had like 5 other options for teams before we arrived NYR NYI PHI PIT and BUF....

That kind of what I was thinking. One reason I can't go to many games... I'm a broke college student. But once I get that real job, and don't have school work to worry about during night hours, than I'll be going a lot.

Yea, the devils have been a family team for awhile now, and the "kids" it seems are now around the college age. I'll be 21 in two months, and I am going to more games now then when I did years ago, mainly because I can buy tickets whenever I want and don't have to rely on my father to buy the tickets and drive.

Wow. This poll explains alot.....

Your demographic is where the Devils need to focus alot more attention. You guys are the backbone of the team in the future. We old geezers will be fine (stock and real estate markets willing). YOU are where all those discounts ought to be going - not to NJ State employees and AAA members, where the average age is probably double yours. YOU need the unique experience to keep coming back - and with friends.

BTW, where are all the guys who couldn't fit their backsides into the seats with cupholders? I'm assuming they aren't the 20-26 crowd.

Regards

Well, I'm 23 and I have no problem fitting in the seat, my problem is jumping up when goals are scored. If I tried to, it would probably rip my leg muscles in half.

I know that everyone makes the argument about fatness, but what about when you've just got a wide frame and large leg muscles?

I've used this example before...

http://www.dopmagazin.com/elementi/20070909_010045Mirko%20cro%20cop.jpg

see those upper leg muscles? mine are probably slightly bigger because I'm shorter than he is...granted I know having leg muscles that big is a rarity but still there is no way I could make them smaller.

But again, I also don't complain about the ****ing things like some people like to. It is what it is, move on.

yeah seriously, to me this team I feel even in 95 theere were more haters than anything else, so I think there were NO older bandwagoners....maybe some youngins' who coildnt help but love "YOU"RE NEXT" (Gives me the god dman chills everytime) but we are a group of fans that are used to taking crap and winning...but ill take the latter hehe.

Thanks for the shout, Fire and Ice, I've been on the bandwagon since 1989, had some time to suffer before tasting the glory of victory. My first game was NJD-NYR at the Meadowlands. All my buddies back then were Ranger fans, because thier dads were, and we were 10, and I fell in love with the underdog Devils.
I have also gotten better taste in friends since then...;)
