Which 2 defensemen should sit? (pick 2!)

With 8 defenseman and most of them playing well, Sutter has a tough decision on who should be in the lineup. Who do you think should be the top 6 defensemen?

I think it should be:

White - Martin
Greene - Vishnevski
Rachunek - Brookbank

Oduya and Mottau should sit

Oduya and Mottau. Brookbank and Vishnevski haven't exactly been great, but they've been a helluva lot better then Oduya, and while Mottau's been pretty good lately, they need him back in Lowell.

Oduya and Brookbank. Vishnevski is a great physical player and bring energy to the team and Rachunek really can give a great shot. Motau has been playing great lately and has got a lot of ice time and has shown why he deserves it.

Oduya is a major disgrace though, there is no exceptions for him to not play. Brookbank has been good, but hasn't brought enough to the team.

Lowell sucks, they can use all the help they can get...

As the founder/commissioner/president/vice president/director of man crush operations/assistant to the regional manager of the BBRB (Brookbank-Rachunek Bandwagon), I can assure you that if B-money or K-Rizzle get scratched there will be hell to pay.

I have to agree. Brookbank is more physical and that's something we need. So I also go with Oduya and Mottau. However, I must say Mottau has played well.

Honestly, I've still been most disappointed with Martin's play this season. At best he's been ineffective as a #1 defenseman. At worst he's made some really bonehead plays. I wouldn't sit him though, since I'm more rating him on my expectations of him as the guy who had to step up his game the most this season and not so much in comparison to the other defensemen.

I rather have Scott Niedermayer and Chris Pronger, but since our line-up is full of the Mottau, Oduya and Rachunek and Brookbanks of the world, which doesn't inspire me to bring up the word Norris, yes, Mottau has played well in the last few games, but I still nominate him for a seat in the stands. :shakehead

Andy Greene and Johnny Oduya, who were both healthy scratches for Wednesday's win over Dallas will both return to the lineup. Sheldon Brookbank will be the odd man out on defense this time. Head coach Brent Sutter said he wanted Brookbank to watch a game, as Greene and Oduya did on Wednesday.
Going with 7 D tonight

Not according to Stan Fischler who thinks Staal should win the Calder with only one quarter of the season played. The old man is so far up the Rangers butt, it's sad.

Cue Weeonta on Afrothunders post...

By the by, I think aside from OdoIeverSuck, our worst D man has been Vishnevski. He is always out of position and deflecting pucks on net (as opposed to blocking them like White, Martin and Greene), is minus a billion, and does not contribute to the PP or PK to any real degree. Expensive Dead Wood. At least Mottau moves the puck well and contributes on the PP... And is less of a disaster in his own zone.

ALL Vish does is hit, and leaves the play to do that much.

Well, I have issues with Mottau's play too. But one is a career AHLer and the other one supposed to be an NHL veteran and I don't see him any better.

Oduya, Vishnevski and Mottau are the 3 guys I am iffy about on this defense. I wouldn't mind us replacing them with Fraser and Corrente.

If Brookbank shot left i would sit him. It is hard to say right now, but i am an oduya supporter but i agree that he should be out comared to the others right now.

but greene needs to play

I'd have to go with Mottau and Oduya. I actually like Oduya, but he's clearly the odd-man out at this point. Mottau...eh...he and Brookbank are about the same in my opinion, in which case, I'll go with Brookbank.

Agreed and that is who I voted for to sit out. Especially Oduya!

Oduya definitely. I can't choose who else. Vishnevski rules, he just beats so much ass. Mottau plays 110% every game and is good on the PP. Brookbank is solid. I don't see the fascination with Greene, he hasn't done much spectacular this year, and Rachunek has been solid too. But definitely Oduya.
