MoonDragn 11-29-2007, 03:12 PM Looks like Pandolfo is sitting for Friday's game :( Apparently he slamed into the boards back first and damaged something in the pelvis area.

The Jersey Devil 11-29-2007, 03:16 PM I hope it wasn't little Jay.
Clarkson Falls Down 11-29-2007, 03:20 PM I guess we'll see Brylin with Madden and Clarkson, or do you think Asham will get a shot?
Dawit 11-29-2007, 03:21 PM What's the deal with Greene? Injured?
cj225 11-29-2007, 03:22 PM What's the deal with Greene? Injured?
Nothing, Sutter just benched him. There's a chance he'll play tomorrow.
DevilsFan38 11-29-2007, 03:23 PM Owch, poor Pando. Hopefully we see him back sooner rather than later.
Richer's Ghost 11-29-2007, 03:23 PM I hope it wasn't little Jay.
I think it would have been more of a puck(s) issue than the stick if so...
He hit sideways from his rear really hard - I'm sure it's a deep bruise of his hipbone. As long as there was no fracture I'm sure we'll see him Sunday afternoon. The man's a warrior - remember when he slammed his face into the dasher and had all those stitches? He was back from that in what I considered incredible time.
Brooklyndevil 11-29-2007, 03:25 PM So, we may see seven defensemen or Rupp added to the line-up.
Clarkson Falls Down 11-29-2007, 03:30 PM So, we may see seven defensemen or Rupp added to the line-up.
I'd rather go with 7 defenseman that put in that stiff Rupp. Lets get Greene back in there. Make Brookbank the 7th guy.
Game Breaker 11-29-2007, 03:35 PM Oh well, time for another streak to begin...
Who now is the current ironman for the devils?

I'm fine with that. Actually, I have this urge to see if Oduya can play little wing on the 4th line.
BenedictGomez 11-29-2007, 03:40 PM I have this urge to see if Oduya can play little wing on the 4th line.
That would be entertaining for about 12 seconds.

Gotta be Brylin.
Game Breaker 11-29-2007, 03:47 PM Last year would have been marty. :sarcasm:
Devilsfanatic 11-29-2007, 03:49 PM two pucks to the face area, neither takes him out, a shorthanded rush does....just dress him to keep the streak alive.
Devilswede 11-29-2007, 03:49 PM Oh well, time for another streak to begin...
Who now is the current ironman for the devils?
Brylin, has played in 270 consecutive games.
MoonDragn 11-29-2007, 03:50 PM I'm fine with that. Actually, I have this urge to see if Oduya can play little wing on the 4th line.
I would rather see Weekes in Goal and Marty playing Wing before that ever happened.
Can you imagine a 2 on 1 rush? ...Pass...Opps I dropped my stick...
bense27 11-29-2007, 04:27 PM this sucks. I will miss Pando more than I miss Elias.

Better than him being the one defending the two. :sarcasm: Seriously, he's a pretty good skater and may be able to better use his size going forward instead of backwards and could finally be able to hit the net from ten feet away instead from the blue-line. Plus, I would feel better if he was covering a point man instead of being down low covering the crease. It's an experiment, what the heck.

But can you imagine Marty playing a forward? He'll be a great defensive forward cause he'll just keep blocking shots! LOL
JerryGigantic 11-29-2007, 05:03 PM I've got my own back issues, so watching Pando smash his lower back into the boards looked both awkward and really, really painful. He was on his hands and knees for a long time before he could even get back on his skates.
Too bad, as that was a really pretty play... Sucks he got injured on it.

Psh, Marty could be the next Ovechkin the way he handles the puck
MoonDragn 11-29-2007, 05:06 PM Psh, Marty could be the next Ovechkin the way he handles the puck
I read a story about his visits to his home town back in 2000 or 2003 where they always play a game of street hockey. He doesn't play goalie during those games and he seems to be very good at putting the puck in the net. So who knows?

Last night I thought Marty was thinking about an empty netter... He got the puck twice behind the net with seconds left, and on that second one he waited an extra beat... Looked like he was considering pitchforking it the length of the ice. Would have loved to see it considering the "trapezoid" was specifically invented to screw over his puck handling skills.

Makes sense, he stops pucks for a living, he should know where to put them to make them less stoppable. It's like crime dramas/movies when the detectives ask a criminal to help solve a crime.

I hate when he teases like that, I would go absolutely INSANE if he made one again. Why not just shoot? Who cares if he ices it and the other team scores? ;)

Marty like to say that he's a pretty good skater, so who knows.
Game Breaker 11-29-2007, 05:26 PM He definitely was thinking about it, but it seemed that he knew dallas was also thinking he might do it. It was as if he said to himself, "they think i'm going to shoot, but I can probably clear it by waiting an extra second and make them think I am going for the empty netter. its also kind of funny how loud the crowd is getting, I think I might do this a couple more times."
Hellsempire 11-29-2007, 06:30 PM I saw Jay today in the Devils locker room area before the rest of the team was going out on the ice for the morning skate and he said that last night it was very painful. It is a lot better today and he will finally miss a game tomorrow night vs. Montreal. It sucks to see his Ironman streak come to an end, but the Devils need Jay in the latter part of the season. They are saying day to day, but looking at Jay he won't miss too many games. It is up to the trainers, Sutter and Lou when they think Jay will be ready to comeback. Devils need Pandolfo out there on the ice and they will miss him especially Madden. Here is to Pandolfo getting healthy fast and not miss too many games.:)
MKWing26 11-29-2007, 06:54 PM Jay wasn't available to the media comment last night, so I didn't get a chance to speak to him.
dzanimal16 11-29-2007, 09:03 PM in gullitis article it also says that greene was paired with martin in practice today and mottau moved down w/ oduya so prolly an indication that greene will be back in the lineup tomorrow. for the record the pairings were: martin-greene, white-rachunek, vishnevski, brookbank
devsfan4life 11-29-2007, 10:03 PM I guess we'll see Brylin with Madden and Clarkson, or do you think Asham will get a shot?
Id say youll probably see Pelley - Madden - Clarkson because Pelley is more of a defensive forward and fits the line better but you never know.
BenIgnorant 11-29-2007, 10:36 PM I would think it will be Pelley filling in for him, he played great on the 3rd line vs. Pittsburgh. If not Pelley, then Brylin.

I got your update early yesterday, thanks man.....
this really sucks about pando. there goes most of our defense..... someon better step up..... maybe Janssen will play ;) LOL
Devilswede 11-30-2007, 10:49 AM Pelley seems like the most logical choice because of his defensive awareness. He's also a lefty, which would make the transition easier for Madden and Clarkson.
It looks like Sutter will go with 7 d-men tonight, so it means that Pando is the only forward out after the last game.
Some of the guys will be doubleshifted with the 4:th liners tonight, which is fine by me. That means more icetime for guys like Parise, Gionta, Zubrus and Elias.

Yea it does suck not having Pando in the line up. Devils will miss him. Janssen will not be in the line up anytime soon. Most likely Lowell for Janssen. He is still rehabing from his shoulder surgery. Pandolfo is resting and will be starting his real soon-most likely Monday I will see him in the trainers rooms.:)
