Lou's Koolaid 11-28-2007, 11:38 PM I have been to all home games so far but, I didn't notice until the last home game. Bob Galerstein is back!!! I like him more than the guy we had opening night. The Rangers take our players we take their PA guy.:sarcasm:

Wow..Muttley and I agree on something...SMALL WORLD!
Lou's Koolaid 11-28-2007, 11:46 PM I miss Bob ArsenaI liked him too but I guess he got old. I like the other Bob too however.
Muttley 11-28-2007, 11:59 PM I liked him too but I guess he got old. I like the other Bob too however.
I'll always associate him with the Devils because he was there from the start and it reminds me of my youth in the early 80's, along with a lot of losing too.
And my defining moment with him was I still remember like it was yesterday, his voice blaring over the speakers immediately after Game 4 in the 1995 Finals saying, "And now ladies & gentleman, the Stanley Cup!"
frankiedue 11-29-2007, 12:09 AM Bob Galerstein does the "it's a PSE&G powerplay!" better than the other guy.

fortheloveof666 11-29-2007, 12:14 AM This is a bit off topic but, I was kinda hoping the "real" goal horn arrived during the road-trip and it'd be ready for tonight. It's been about 6-8 weeks as was mentioned.
Oh well.
Glad the old dude is back, I liked him. Although I still miss the original guy for basically the same reasons Muttley stated.

The real goal horn? I doubt they're changing the horn. We're stuck with the one we have now.

No, they ordered a "real" horn and they didn't order it until the week of Opening Night and they were told it would take 6-8 weeks to arrive.

It sounded louder last night, but I think it was still coming out of the speakers above the scoreboard so I'd say it hasn't arrived yet.
I thought it was 8-10 weeks btw, I thought that's what Hellsempire said. Anyways I'm sure he'll post something about it when it does finally come in.
If I do find out, I'm gonna have to try really hard not to tell my girlfriend about it - we went to St. Louis a few years ago and caught a Blues game, sat in the upper deck center ice - she didn't know about their monumentally loud tugboat horn. When the Blues scored it scared the daylights out of her, she jumped about 10 feet in the air, it was absolutely hilarious.

I talked to Chris M., he's one of the VP's, he told me 6-8, but whatever, 7-8, 8-10, same difference!!
Anyway, when it does come in, it'll be on the press box side, so it'll be loud, and Chris said that it would be almost like a tug boat sound!

That got me laughing pretty loud at work just now, haha. I always say marty's name like that when he makes a big save. And love the "last minute of play i the period, ooooooooooone minute!" When we got the new guy, my father would always ask "why isn't this new guy saying it correctly?" and then would say it anyway. He still says it now watching the game at home for crying out loud. I guess you really don't put much thought into something like that until someone makes you focus on it.

Hahahaa - love it. I have always thought the Blues had one of the best [loudest and booming] goal horns.
I have this dream that someday I'll have my own little spread out in the countryside and down in the man-room [fully hockey-ized basement] I'll have the big red light and a pull chord next to the recliner to yank on when the devils score and have my own goal horn sound off. As of right now, that's just a handheld air horn but the neighbors know when we score any playoff goals ;)

I dont know how to explain it.. it just doesnt sound good or fit for a goal song.

well the fact it doesn't repeat doesn't help. but i absolutely love the fact they say All Out War like that and it's heavy. But that's my cup of tea, which is also why I said it's not a real-world idea it's just my fantasy world.
Overtime98 11-30-2007, 08:58 AM Bob was great.... ah memories of CAA/BBA!
devsfan4life 11-30-2007, 11:57 PM The guy that started the season was back tonight.. I guess Galerstein had to fill in for him just for one night or something. Im certain that it was the guy that we started the season with.. Anyone else who was at the game recognize this?

fortheloveof666 12-01-2007, 08:43 PM I got bored and made another goal song. This time it's a jersey band, sort of sounds like a chant, and well...is unbelievably heavy.
But the concept "Kings Cannot Fall" after a goal is pretty great. :biglaugh:

John Flyers Fan 12-01-2007, 09:19 PM Why the hell did the Devils change their radio broadcast team ??:rant:
I'm in a position at work now where I work a swing shift, and if the Flyers aren't playing try and listen to the Devils if they're on .. but the duo of Lughlin and Ross are a brutal listen. :shakehead

that's fine. I never expect it to get used ever or anything. I make them how I like them.
just like if it were up to me the Devils would come out, in the first period, to Slayer - Raining Blood because it just fits, and I pretty much hate Slayer.
Don't get me wrong, I love The Who intro and stuff, but you have no idea how much that song fits to the intro we currently have. ha
