Brodeur2007 11-27-2007, 06:39 PM According to nhlnumbers.com, Oduya is with us for 2 more seasons. We can only trade, but nobody will take him. I say just hold on to him.

Devilswede 11-27-2007, 06:45 PM I don't think Oduya is going anywhere anytime soon, but I'm pretty sure some team would have interest in him. If not via trade then through waivers if the Devils decided to put him on waivers...
Devils Mike 11-27-2007, 07:55 PM Lowell. But if they see what he did in the season they wouldn't even want him.
Feed Me A Stray Cat 11-27-2007, 08:34 PM For $600k Oduya is fine to have around as a 6/7 type guy. Hopefully he begins to be utilized in that role.

Exactly, send him down. Problem solved.
He can drop his stick, toss the puck over the glass, misplay 2 on 1 situations, fall in random locations with no opponents within 10 feet, and cough up the puck in the slot in Massachussetts.
fortheloveof666 11-27-2007, 08:45 PM Yeah who needs a release?
:surrender: Please Waive...
Bambi's hoofs just weren't made for ice, or composite hockey sticks for that matter...
MoonDragn 11-28-2007, 10:19 AM He's cheap enough to keep around. He's actually not that bad when you only give him 10 mins a night on the ice. Its just when you give him more he starts to look like a deer in the headlights.

Game Breaker 11-28-2007, 11:21 AM Trade him to get david hale back....

i dunno about you guys, but i think it sucks that nowadays we see the most player movement via waivers only. and if there is a trade....its for a "who?" player for a prospect. oduya may be the whipping boy here, deservedly so, but he does have talent. im sure he could land something. but hell prolly go to another team(whenever or if that happens) thru the waiver wire i figure. maybe im wrong...so correct me if i am, but thats how it seems to me.

He does?

Would you choose a bag of pucks or a case of Easton hockey tape?

Both are such tempting offers.
Oduya + 1st for Bag-o-pucks and Easton Hockey Tape
Best deal ever. :yo:

Like I said in another thread,
He was an UFA during the offseason because Lou didn't qualify him. Then Lou signed him for even less than his qualifying offer. I'm not sure why he'd suddenly become very attractive to another team, especially since his play hasn't exactly been inspiring this year.
Any other team could have signed him while he was UFA if they really wanted him.

well im on team "dump oduya" but we fans are usually more harsh on the players than the gms and their scouts might be. i can see what hed like to bring to games, but he usually leaves it on the ice with his renegade stick. maybe other teams could accomodate better, or have more suitable trainers. im not behind the scenes so im left to speculate here haha. with all the other oduya haters too:D

couldnt the same be said for rafalski when he was plucked away from europe? or is that a different situation. and of course the talent aspect is non comparable.

The same can be said for all unrestricted free agents. The Devils signed him right after he became a free agent. And did you ever think that Oduya wanted to re-sign with the Devils and therefore signed a new deal? ...I'm pretty sure he received offers from other teams.
