Proposal for defensive help

Gionta for Hamhuis and Bonk. Suter would be better but we'd have to add more. Bonk becomes a 50 pt second line center and we make Patty happy by moving him back to wing and giving him a fellow Czech. And we reunite PZL. On the defensive side, we are set now and for the future and we finally have a respectable top four with Martin-White and Greene-Hamhuis/Suter. Third pair can be our two new free agents which is good news for all you Oduya haters cuz that would make him our number 7. Also the two Ahlers could be sent down. So we got:

Parise-Zajac-Langs
Elias-Bonk-Zubrus
Pando-Madden-Asham
Brylin-Pelley-Clarkson

Martin-White
Greene-Hamhuis
Vishnevski-Rachunek

What do you think? Not the best team this year but it will solidify our D in the near future. Offensive help would be on the way after this year. I know many would not want ot make this move now with the success of PEG but Im not so sure that line will keep producing and patty will keep having success at center. It works for now but once it falters, I pull the trigger on this trade.

Hamhuis? Yes, he could help this team. Bonk? No thank you! Bonk is not a type of player we need, we already have Madden and Pelley to play that role....I even rank Brylin higher than Bonk.

Trading away Gionta should bring us something considerably better than Bonk and Hamhuis. Maybe Gionta plus a prospect or draft pick in exchange for Hamhuis and David Legwand. Now that's a deal that would help
this team.

I would much rather have Legwand, but Im trying to look at it from a Preds POV. They need one more player to complete their top 6, Im sure they dont want to trade one to get one. Also, Legwand is 5 points I believe form the Preds all time hihg. Probably will want to retire a Pred. I didn't think it would work at first either, but Bonk has 9 goals already. He's Czech, so maybe he'll help Elias. Think of it this way: Last year we had Gomez (60pts) and Zajac (42 pts) as our top two centers. After this trade, we would have Zajac (could hit 60 pts if given first line time/first PP unit) and Bonk (42 pts at worst), so were in the same boat. As I said, we take a hit this year but it will be worth it next year when we can fill the gap. Our offesne is bad and can't get much worse, sometimes a shakeup helps. And youre right, Gionta may be worth more, so maybe we could have Suter (potential franchise D) instead of we could get a pick (we definitely need those) to balance it out.

I can't see Hamhuis being traded for Gionta.

Gionta does not even land us Hamhuis alone, not to mention him and Bonk, and you are completely in fantasy land if you think Nashville trades us Hamhuis and Legwand for Gionta.

I have a tough time finding good value for Hamhuis, I thought Gionta would do it. this came primarily from a proposal from a Preds fan in which he said Gio for Suter staight up, and I figured Hamhuis was worth a little less than Suter. Well maybe forget Bonk, Gionta for Suter or Hamhuis straight up and try to pry a young potential second line center like Pavelski or Osullivan for not too much

yea im not even sure Gionta gets us Hamhuis by himself..

I agree and to bad Carolina is a top team again, because I would love to get my hands on Commodore.

Just no.

Bonk is Kozlov version 2, except he's better defensevely.. And as for the Offence, he's not any kind of better....

Plus, Bonk as a Number 2 center? Come on...

We don't have anything to trade for Hamhuis. Maybe Bergfors? But hey, I didn't watch loads of games of the Predators to make any kind of judgement for Dan Hamhbuis.(Sorry for the mispelling.) And I doubt the Preds would trade him away, after with the departure of Kimmo Timmonen and Tomas Vokoun. It would just make their Def wayy worse.

Why the heck would we trade a player who is actually playing well right now and has a reasonable salary? Oh and get Bonk to make the under achieving, over paid player in Patrik Elias happy. HAHA. If anything you trade Elias if he would waive the NTC, and anyone wanted to take his bs $7,500,000 salary.

Zajac was our 2nd line center last year and he got 17 goals and 42 points. Bonk is a proven 20 goal scorer and would easily at least equal 42 points as a 2nd line center. Its not ideal, just a temporary solution. If Bonk wasn't coming back, we'd have a second line of Zubrus Elias and Asham and we'd definitely be worse off. As for Gionta playing well, sure he is, but he's streaky, and if we want to shake up th offense he is th emost tradeable player. You trade while the value is high.

Anyway, forget Bonk, Gionta straight up for Suter (or Hamhuis)?

Zajac was also a 21 year old rookie last year...

comparing the 2 is laughable

I'm not comparing the two players, I'm comparing production. Zajac rookie year = 42 points, Bonk = 40-50 points. Anyway I guess he was a bad throw in but the Preds don;t have much else
