I doubt this will happen as I don't think the owners want to willingly (though trades) eat any portion of salaries of players playing on other NHL teams. Burke has tried to get something like this before last year. Also I believe because it's a CBA issue it has to go through the players also. Even if it does pass it won't go into effect until next year in all likelihood.

i'm sure the players wouldn't care who is paying them as long as the check clears.. I know Jagr doesn't :)

I would be so happy to see that Marc Staal on the other side of the country...I have bad feeling that kid's going to be a nightmare for us in the future.

I like that idea, especially after all the controvery with the Yankees and the money the Texas Rangers were paying them with A-Rod. I don't see why the NHL doesn't have this already.
