They practiced at Newark for the first time last week. I'm pretty sure they'll be practicing at the new arena for the rest of the season. I don't know if the practices will be open to the public.

I think they might have moved to the practice rink in Newark permanently, but I'm not sure about that. You could try posting a comment on Gulitti's blog and asking about that.

And I'm pretty sure that at least for now, if they're in Newark they're not open to the public.

I was over at Codey while working on Wednesday, and I noticed alot of people moving stuff out. Im sad to say that the Devs might be done there. I hope that the Rock will allow fans to watch them practice.

Devils practiced @ the Rock this morning on the Practice ice rink. They will be practicing on the Arena bowl ice tomorrow morning as the workers are taking the Seton Hall floor off of the ice and setting up the boards and glass for the ice rink. The Devils have moved a lot of boxes and things from SMA to the Practice Facility @ the Rock. Their stuff is everywhere and in a lot of places in our way and it is hard to finish the job with all their stuff all over the place. The Practice Facility areas are almost completed anyway.

The Devils practices will be @ the Rock for the most part on the Practice ice rink and it is closed to the public. For now you can see them practice through the windows on Lafayette St. but soon enough the electric shades will have the windows covered so no one can see in. Today I saw and spoke with Janssen who is still doing his rehab, Rupp and Langenbrunner as well. Its nice to see the players while I am working in the Devils locker room areas and get the chance to speak to some of them in the morning when they come in and when they hang around and then leave.:yo:

Isn't the glass like tens of feet above the ground? How is someone gonna watch practice like that?

No. The glass is practically the entire side of the building. You can see fine from street level. In fact, I think it was a really bad idea from a safety perspective.

I wonder why they are installing bleachers if they aren't planning to open it to the public?

Still under construction: Bleachers were being installed yesterday alongside the new practice rink. The practice dressing room is still not finished, forcing players and coaches to dress and walk from the main locker room.

It will eventually opened to the public, just not yet because they still have to finish stuff in the arena.

Well their practice rink will also be used for local HS and youth league games.

ahhh, that I didn't know. Thought it was going to be private Devils only. Guess it makes more sense.

But I'm glad its open to the public at a later time too.

Lets hope this gives the devils more practice time now that they don't have to drive from practice rink to the game.

There's no official word that practices will be open to the public. All we know is that at this time, they are not. No clue when or if that will change.
