I haven't been to the Freehold mall since they closed the Uniqlo location there.

I'd like to go, but it's too far a drive.

Steiner Sports is the company that represents Marty's autograph signings. It's $75 for pictures and pucks and $100 for jerseys, sticks and other equipment.

Steiner validates an autograph with their hologram and Certificate of Authenticity (COA). A COA from pretty much anybody but Steiner isnt worth the paper it's written on. Many people could care less (and I understand that), but some autograph collectors will only put a signature into their collection if it's a Steiner autograph.
The reason is a Steiner autograph will be worth something 50 years from now, whereas other signatures have much less (if any) value due to how simple it is to forge an autograph (especially one as simple as Marty's). The thing is, you can pay $129 and get a Steiner backed Brodeur autograph on a puck or photo etc delivered to your house. Personally, I'd rather pay the extra $30 for an authentic Steiner, but again, that's simpley a matter of opinion.

So its not a free meet and great thing? Screw that then I'd rather spend 100$ on going to see the Devils at MSG on the 9th.

Nope, I was actually in that shop on Black Friday and saw the flyer, then I noticed the absurd amount of money they were asking just to have him sign something. I think a picture was 75 bucks, a piece of paper for 75 freakin dollars, are they out of their minds?? Sad this is, people will be lined up around the block to pay that kind of money.

Personally I don't understand people paying for autographs, I'd much prefer a picture of me and the person, although it was cool to get Dano to sign the picture I have of me and him at the NHL Store a few weeks back - it's so much more personal.

You can stay after the game and get free ones.

The players are pretty accessible now!

Hahaha, I knew that was coming!

They park in a gated area on Edison Place (the street the Team Store is on), walk towards Broad Street and it'll be on your left hand side!

The players come out of a door there, and walk to their cars behind the gate, so you can stop them and get autographs.

The opposing teams buses are also there, so you can grab them also!

Hahaha....well she's like 15 years old, stays after every game and always tries to talk to him.

At one point last year, he was practically hiding his car to get away from her. And she was always trying to get attention from Cam and Travis (to the point that they all knew about her)!

And another story, one time last year, someone walked out on a cellphone said "Yes, she's here", and walked back inside. (They HAD to be talking about her)!

Oh and one more thing...

I had gone to a practice one day around Christmas last year and she had a present for him.

Well if anyone knows how the practice facility is, where the guys parked their cars, you could go out 2 different ways, well, Patrik saw her and went the opposite way and she yelled and screamed and carried on!

That's probably the reason why Elias can't produce this year. :sarcasm:

Nice turnout tonight, and Marty seemed in good spirits, even for those of us at the end of the line.

I get plenty of sigs on all my jerseys and have met MANY players at the arena in the parking lot and inside..... Also it is easy to meet them at practices..... when you have connections to get inside and meet some players, my buddy has some of the carpeting from the NEW devils locker room at the rock, he gave me some of it and it is pretty cool!

How was the turnout? How many people showed up? I know it stated that no photographs but did anyone try to get a picture in anyway? ;)

StriderTB

There was a pretty good turnout, I'd say around 400 people. I got there around 6pm, and people had started lining up around 4:30. He showed up around 6:30 and it took about an hour to work through the line. They didn't let him take pics with people, but there was no rules against standing at the table with him and getting photos. It was a pretty efficient process.

I just thanked him for his time and said good luck for tomorrow, and he thanked me. Nothing insightful. ;)
