frankiedue 11-25-2007, 12:01 AM Thank you for the nice article.
It is nice to see Matt Halischuk tearing it up in the OHL. I remember someone posted here on draft day that he was the heart and soul of his team and that we were getting a steal. I guess they were right!
I was kind of disappointed in Tony Romano's initial transition from the NCAA to the OHL. Hopefully he will improve.
It would have been nice to read more about Corbin McPherson, but I suppose that information is hard to come by.
None Shall Pass 11-25-2007, 12:27 AM I'd like to see less of our top prospects at RW. We are kinda strong there for a while, with Gionta/Langenbrunner/Zubrus technically/Asham/Clarkson/Cam kinda. I'd rather see another center or LW. Either way, exciting stuff and good article! Thanks!
Devils9789 11-25-2007, 12:37 AM I have high hopes for Romano, being a Cornell fan i really would love to see him in a Devils jersey in the future.
thefiestygoat 11-25-2007, 01:01 AM Corrente and Tulupov have me really excited, I love their intensity and attitude.
How do you guys really think Halischuk will do if he makes it to the NHL? I know he is lighting up the scoresheet in juniors but there are a lot of guys that do that who don't go onto great careers. I am just looking for an honest, unbiased projection because he has me excited.

I think Jason mentioned somewhere in another thread that Max Talbot is a good comparsion. Small, full of energy, good defensively, probably able to chip in a few goals.
And I'm also getting excited about Corrente and Tulupov, especially Tulupov. Those hits he's laying out are violent!

Thanks for the comparison, it would be awesome if he turned out like that.
I was just thinking about the defense and the Devils can have an interesting core of guys in White, Martin, Greene, and eventually Corrente and Tulupov if they pan out. Really I just want those two to exceed because I love defenseman who love to play physical. Add in a free agent or two to help anchor the line and that is a fairly solid corps that they could have in a couple of years. Although I don't want to think too far ahead, things almost always change that are hard to predict.

I think Fraser is going to be rock-solid for us as well in the near future. Combine him with Corrente and Tulupov, plus a more seasoned Andy Greene and Paul Martin, thats a strong young core of D.

It seems that with the exception of Matt Halischuk, all of our junior prospects have been injured at one time or another. By the end of the season, we shall see how far they have progressed or recessed.
So don't fall in love with any of our prospects, because there is no guarantee who will make the NHL and who won't.
For all we know, Ryan Molle or Corbin McPherson could be the best defense prospects in the organization. There are no guarantees in life, as we all know.
Later...
