Anyone miss "Ole"?

After Gionta's goal on Saturday, was anyone else missing the Ole song. I have to admit, I was kind of disappointed that they replaced it with such a common goal song. I think Ole is definitely better and funner to sing along to.

Last year they used a bunch of different songs, then settled on "Ole". Why would they change again...didn't the fans vote for "Ole" last season?

NO! Ole is a soccer song that the Habs fans sing. It was awful here in NJ and very few people liked it. The song they played on Sat was much better-they need to play the goal horn louder though.

I dont miss it at all! I think that they wanted to change things up a bit since its a new building. I really dont mind any of the new stuff.

I've seen the Bouncing Souls a bunch of times, I definitley don't miss it haha. Heard that song a billion times growing up.

I also hate when you have a wimpy goal horn - hopefully they pump some more air into it to louden it up a bit (again, haven't heard it but it doesn't sound like it was too impressive).

I liked the new horn and the song. Screw Ole that songs blows chickens. Wait, is that even possible?

And to the guy who wanted some familiarity in the new arena...it is the exact same organ and organist. Not only that, he plays the same exact songs he did last year. At the end of the period, I felt like I was at the Dump again...brought an eerie chill down my spine.

I like the new goal song but it really isn't that unique.

ole sucked, the new one sucks too. i really dont see the prob with rnr part2. its not like señor pedo still makes money off it, and i doubt half the people even know who sings it....or his legal issues. song 2 may be played, but its a good one. bro hymn tribute would be a cool idea. and while they were playing "ahhh intermission" it made me consider "all i want" from the same album as a decent one, maybe without the words if possible. whatever the case....i hate both the old and the new and i hope they decide on a replacement.

People complaining that Montreal uses the OLE song, do you realize Toronto uses Zombie Nation? And I'm sure other teams do as well. The fact of the matter is both songs suck, but at least with Ole, it is a fun song that everyone sings along with.

None of the songs will make everyone happy unless R&R Pt.2 came back and we all know thats impossible.. I'm happy with whatever we have as long as it's not U2 or something like that.. Most importantly hearing the damn thing more than once or twice a game would be awesome

speaking of intro movie... i miss thunderstuck... i thought they were going to mix into that after hells bells but it just never happened.

The Ole song was horrible. I pray it never comes back. All the choices they had for a goal song last year sucked horribly. The goal horn was also WAY to quiet. We need an original goal song like the Rangers which is def one of a kind.

OT: the best intro music ever was the Van Halen "Right Now" instrumental loop they ran on WABC back when Mike Miller called the games and it had clips from Mike calling the goals from big games in the past... simply awesome. I missed it so much I made my own extended version of it after the 2003 cup win... might have to break that out on a ftp download for the hardcore fans here to sample. ;)

Everyone on this site should email the Devils as soon as possible and tell them they think the Goal Horn is way too quiet. I spoke to Lou personally for about 20 minutes at the open house and he said any questions or ideas should be emailed right away to the Devils office because they read them all and will try to work on as many as they can.

ole was awful.. nobody knew what to do everyone kinda just stood around. What I loved about rock n roll part 2 was the crowd was into it. Everyone was yelling "HEY!" and it got the crowd loud and fired up. Zombi Nation is better than ole, but the perfect one was rock n roll part 2.

They need to make it louder and blow it longer. Didn't CAA have three groups of three blasts or something? Anyway, the music (which is fine IMO) starts up too soon. Blow the horn longer. And hell, add a siren and flashing lights also. Make it a big deal.

In the end this is a matter of preference, and both sides are right/wrong.

That's what made the old horn so distinctive (3 groups of 3 blasts)...and it had a great tone. This new one just sounds so generic. It is all a matter of opinion, but I'm guessing that if a poll was taken, the majority of fans would want the old horn back. But if I get to hear it six times like I did yesterday, they could play Hillary Clinton cackling every time the Devils score for all I care.

I went to my first game at the rock last night and let me tell you i think zombie nation is such an improvement from "Ole". I liked our original, but i think this new one with the goal horn fits a hell of a lot better than Ole. Ole belongs in soccer/futbol (whatever you wanna call it) and should stay there.

are you sure they wrote it originally? i thought it was already a song they just added some of their own lyrics.
