I'd do that trade if you took out Perry, Ryan, and the Niedermayer sisters and replaced them with Pronger.

How's that? Scott isn't even playing.

As it stands, our first round pick has the potential to be very valuable. I'm not giving it up, especially not for a player who's retired.

Here's an idea in the same vein: Why don't we trade everyone except Marty, Parise and Zajac for the Whole Ottawa team. They can keep Ray Emery, Shean Donovan, and Nick Foligno just to be fair.

LOL seriously. As much as I'd like Neidermeyer back, think of the future. Bergfors looks like he can develop into a great 1st or 2nd line player and the first round pick this year can get you someone really really good. Especially if we might miss the playoffs.

This alone may jump start our team come next season. Assuming if the prospect is ready to play. If not, then we can have another mediocre year next season and get on the Tavaras bandwagon and come out swinging come 2010. Lets just hope Marty can stand losing for two years.

I don't think either team can afford this trade cap wise. Not to mention we give up our best defenceman for a guy who might never play again.
