Anybody make the trip in/out from O.C NY to the opener?
Got tix for Wed., and not sure if the trains will get me home after the game...
Would hate to have to drive, and park, if avoidable.
NJT schedules seem like I might need to leave the game early to get back to secaucus, or wait for a LATE train...

Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks.

i drove down from greenwood lake with a buddy we parked in hoboken, think it was like 18 bux, and then we took the path trains to journal square, then transfered to another path train that took us into newark, i heard the train from suffern is really expensive so i would say follow my plan, or figure out one that fits you better i guess, hope i helped.

Coming from Goshen, was thinking about catching the train in Suffern, seems pretty easy, if not cheap. No matter how I get there, I am really looking forward to my first trip to the Rock!

taking the train to newark penn form ramsey rt 17 (which is 2 stops after suffern) is just under 16 bucks (round trip) and about an hour and a half train ride with a transfer in secacus

That sounds good. Did you do this for the opener? If you did, what were the trains like; packed, available after the game, etc.?
thanks.

i did do it for the opener and i must say that there were a TON of devils fans on the way there and back. there was really only one train that was an option on saturday for me since it arrived at newark penn at alittle before six thirty and i was in the arena at six forty five.

there were a ton nj transit people on the streets on the way back to penn after the game telling people what trains were on what track. For me i had to take track one which were trains that were back to NY because they are the ones that stopped at secacus junction which is obviously where i had to go.

there were 2 trains that left about 30 minutes after the gane ended (there was plenty of time to get to penn after the game since i didnt leave the arena as soon as the game ended).

i called my gf so she could give me train times from secacus back to ramsey rt 17 so it was easy to find the right train since i knew the time that it was supposed to leave.

my one and only complaint is that on the way home there were ALOT of ranger fans on the train with us since the rags had a game the same night. alot of them were very civil and classy but i was lucky enough to sit by 4 who decided to show me what trash would look like if it had legs and arms and walked around on a semi daily basis.

i am pretty sure there were a couple trains that i could have taken when i got to secacus in 10 minute intervals, so i wasnt worried about missing the train.

if i left anything out that you wanted to know let me know...its late and i dont always think straight when its late :)

Thanks everybody!
Still undecided, but all the info shared here will really help my decision.
Hoping for a great game on 10/31, and many more games this season!

Honestly, the drive would be a lot easier and time efficient. I drove from yonkers, yes, not upstate ny, but you could just hop on 87 and take is all the way to the gw bridge when it become 95 and just continue south. You get off exit 15 and follow the winding exit ramp and keep driving on raymond blvd until you see parking lots/structures and just park and walk a few blocks to the arena. You also could take metro north to grand central, take the E train to penn station, then a train from there to newark penn...
