He didnt do much here but he played with some effort. Not really gonna miss him but good luck to him I guess. Must be weird for him to be out of SoCal.

With Holmqvist playing well, Lupul called up, Bylsma replacing Johnson's role and Leclerc soon coming back from injury, Anaheim tried to send Johnson to Cincy. Instead, he's heading to the Centre of the Universe. I wish him well, but he was just a spare part really.

I'd rather have Bylsma in the lineup than Johnson but not both in the lineup.

Holmqvist is ready to be an NHL regular.

We could always call up Martensson, Kunitz or even Severson.

Good luck in Toronto Craig.

This is no big deal, imo. (Sorry Craig). He played well while he was here, considering his skill level, and played hard. But, with this season looking like a wash, it's just as well we trim some salary.

Good luck in Trawna.

While the Ducks are at it, can they get rid of Jason Krog too?

I'm happy he's gone to a good team.

Good point about Krog. What happened to that guy?

If he's always stuck on the 4th line, he's going to play like a 4th liner.... i've always said i wish him and pahlsson should switch, but oh well.

He was on the fourth line all through the run and was nothing but an asset. I guess in his case it was all post season magic, and no inherent value :(

Maybe I'm biased (check the avatar) but I think Pahlsson has been one of the Ducks better forwards the past 15 or so games. He plays well defensively, and is an under-rated playmaker. Unfortunately, in all likelihood he will never again score an NHL goal.

Martensson has been recalled. Looks like Murray thinks Kunitz hasn't played well enough in the AHL.

Kunitz was probably the second choice, then Severson.

Bylsma and Krog haven't really done much this season. I say call up Kunitz as well and we can have the Cincy's first line as our 4th line in Anaheim.

Kunitz Martensson Lupul

Oh yeah, the ever-popular rookie 4th line.

I liked Martensson the two games he played here, although I think Severson would look better in Johnson's checking role.

That Pahlsson line has created all kinds of havoc, probably our best line. Like I said, if any of them could finish worth a damn they might have more than 4 goals combined.

Kunitz is definetly making a case for being called up.

He is on fire!!! 2 more goals through 2 periods tonight.

Kunitz:

"He is playing well down there," Murray said. "We may have to think about him."

And, Babcock also mentioned, "that Kunitz kid is on fire down there."

I've been saying for 6 weeks Krog should be gone.

A post over on duckcalls says that Dan Bylsma will be placed on waivers...if true thoughts?

I liked Craig Johnson I appreciated his hard work more as a ducks player,I don't think he should have been released with the problems of having guys not "show up" everynight...Craig Johnson did I think Jason Krog should have gotten the boot before CJ.

one has to wonder what BM has up his sleeve...is he raising the white flag?

Dumping veterans from the bottom end of the roster doesn't really feel like capitulation. We're horrid right now, it's not going to get worse, and maybe even a little youthful enthusiasm could pick us up.

Murray is trying to trim veteran salary from the payroll. Johnson has a much better chance of being picked up on waivers than Jason Krog. IMO, that's why CJ got waived instead of JK.

Craig Johnson was making minimum wage anyways. I doubt that is the way to go in trimming the payroll. Last year, the players responded when York, Lambert, and Titov were sent packing. I think Murray is trying to do the same. Give the vets a kick in the butt.

Johnson was on a 2-way contract and I don't believe Krog is, that makes him a much better candidate to move to the minors. Besides the Ducks can't lose Krog's faceoff abilities or his right handed shot. Personally I don't think Murray cared if Johnson was claimed or not... the only thing that mattered was getting him off the NHL roster to open up a spot for a different/better player.

Martensson had an assist and was pretty much the way I remember him.

That line with him, Lupul and Burnett was pretty effective.

I agree, that line was good. Nice to see Burnett getting some playing time and being effective without using his fists. I like Martensson though hes a really good skater.

Burnett has no business playing in the NHL. Boy do I miss Sawyer.

The Ducks need some life. Someone to spark a fire up their buttocks. The players don't seem to have any fun on the ice. I'm not even sure a cattle prod would have any effect. This all comes down to chemistry. We need a North American vet like Stumpy Thomas who can get us out of this malaise. I'm so desparate right now, I would welcome Theo Fleury.

Fleury? Party in the dressing room! He'll bring the booze and the strippers. Someone else will have to handle the bouncers, though.
