I'm assuming we won't know until game time, but does anyone have any idea what our line combos will be? This is what I've gathered so far:

Elias-Zubrus-Bergfors
Parise-Zajac-Gionta
Madden-Pelley?-Asham
Pandolfo/Rupp-Brylin-Clarkson?

I know I'm way off so any info would be great!

Thanks!

Another topic about this?

Don't we have enough of them already?

No not at all.

Lineup looks good, but not sure is pelley is ready. I hope when Langenbrunner returns Pelley is sent down Not bergfors. We need bergfors more than Pelley

I was watching the 2003 playoff game 7 vs. Ottawa last night - one of our best lines was Elias-Madden-Langenbrunner... Madden was creating all kinds of offense - I hope that comes back this year.

Elias was with Gomez and Marshall that game, Langenbrunner was on a line with Nieuwendyk and Friesen until Nieuy was injured...

Madden was with Pandolfo and Stevenson, checking the Hossa unit.

Funny I am watching the 3rd period of it right now and clearly I see multiple shifts with Elias - Madden - Langenbrunner out there. Must be they are getting caught matching lines and since Elias is on the far wing he's double shifting in essense. Pando-Madden-Langs is the other line.

Nieuwendyk left the game early in the 1st.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one with that though...

I'm concerned about faceoffs. I know Madden will probably take a bunch even though he's playing wing, but Zajac and Pelley need to work on them. I wonder if Parise could take faceoffs for Zajac, depending on their respective percentages.

During the preseason games that I watched, Pelley won most of the faceoffs he was in.

1- Elias isnt playing center.
2- Pandolfo is a LW, Asham is a RW
3- Oduya >>>> Mottau

If NHL 08 is anything to go by (and it isn't) we're in for a long year at the faceoff circle. Zajac/Zubrus/Brylin all suck on the draw in that game.

Haven't got to see much of Pelley on the draw so far this year, but I was surprised by his skating (which I for some reason thought was poor).

I knew it! See, I brought this up in another thread and people told me I was wrong! I knew Madden was playing with Langenbrunner during th e playoffs that year!

They were. But not in the Ottawa series. They played on that line for the first two rounds - switched off in the middle of the second round. There was no permanant Elias - Madden - Langenbrunner line, they might have shared a shift after Nieuwendyk went down in Game 7, but they were NOT a permanant unit.

What I was saying is that when they were together, they really clicked and Madden was really good with him.
