Hey guys, in my one year yahoo league I currently have Elias, Gionta, and Brodeur as part of my team. To be honest I think that Elias and Gionta will have good bounce back years. My worry is Brodeur, do you think he can still put up numbers that resemble a top 5 goaltender in the league? My other goalie is Lundqvist, so I am just getting opinions on this matter as I am thinking about possibly dealing Brodeur for a top forward.

Brodeur is the only consistant one of the three.

He wont get 48 wins again, but he's a lock for the 40-45 range. Expect at least 7 or 8 shutouts.

What are reasonable expectations for Elias and Gionta as well?

Expect no more than:

35+50=85 from Elias
45+30=75 from Gionta

I don't think Marty's a lock for 40. I think he'll get around 40 wins, just because he'll likely play less than 70 games for the first time since Dunham was our backup.

Well I am skeptical of having 2 Devils forwards because of the defensive style you play over there. I may look to deal one of Gionta or Elias.

Brodeur should be good for 58-75 wins this year. He'll want to get the 58 wins out of the way in the first 60 - 65 games or so. That way people stop talking about how close he is to Roy for career wins in time for him to focus on the playoffs.

As well, if he gets another 12 shutouts like last year, he'll pass Sawchuk on the all time shutout list. He'll probably end up with 25-30 to eclispse Hainsworth's season record.

I hope this helps you with picking your goalie for the hockey pool.
