All our problems could be miraculously solved, we could play our best game of the season and still not beat the Canucks. They're pretty good.

Eh......3-1 Vancouver. Chistov will score! If he plays!

You would think at least Duck fans know how to spell his name...

come on Lupul...show us what you learned in Cincy

I have the feeling that he(Lupul) will step it up a notch and that a fire has been lite under his ass
Hope that by Lupul being brought back up the rest of the team will remember that they too can be scratched or sent down

kick some ass
GO DUCKS!!!!

Hes in a different hemisphere give him a break. Their toilers flush the wrong way so of course theyre going to spell things wrong. :p

Frankly, I've like what I've seen from the team and Giguere the last two games so they might carry that over. But Vancouver is an elite team and weve played against mediocre teams that are without their big guns so we'll see what they can do against the big boys. They did pretty good in Detroit after the 1st so who knows. :dunno:

Too bad there aren't any finishers on the Pahlsson line or they could be dominant.

I don't agree with calling up Lupul just to play him on the 4th line.

Chock, Rucchin just fell in front of the Nucks net out of nowhere with noone around. As you like to put it, I think he has become Cullen.

Pahlsson's the man. I wish the little b.astard could score, but he's still the man.

Pathetic power play.

this game turned out to be Anaheim vs Cloutier in a hurry. Anaheim's making Vancouver look like an ECHL team.

Hockeyfan02
01-09-2004, 06:19 PM
We played a great first half of that period and kept the Nucks on their heels except Cloutier was great and we couldnt put anything in the net. Giguere saved our butts a few times but couldnt when the D just absolutely sucked on the goal. Power play looked awful, but the Nucks were doing a great job of not letting the Ducks have anything.

lol, I see it's 4-0 now. If a read more "enough's enough"-type quotes from Rucchin or Carney tomorrow I'm going to puke.

If you tasted my cooking, you'd probably puke the morning after, too. Maybe even sooner.

a night where we finally outshoot the opponent and we get killed.

Unbelieveable.

Spankatola Jamnuts*

Rally, I think we tend to outshoot the opponent most nights.

Hey, their goalie made saves, their defense kept our guys from getting to rebounds, their guys put their chances away. I liked the effort tonight, but face it: we're just not very good.

I can't say we deserve the win because those horrible defensive breakdowns cost us the game. But the Ducks played well. They were alittle snakebitten though. Reminded me of last year in the playoffs when we played the Wings. Unfortunately, Vancouver was us and we were Detroit with bad defense.

Am I the only person here who is loving Mikael Holmqvist? The guy is creating alot of space by driving hard to the net and sticking up for teammates on the ice. He needs to learn how to drop those gloves faster though.

I like him too.
He handle decently himself in a fight with the much more experienced Ruutu + he stepped up for a teammeate, even if I think he did fight Ruutu because he's finnish.

Anyway, where was Simpson? That's his duty thought.

Remember when we used to say those things about the Ducks? It's not happening this year.

And I don't even think the problem's been effort at all this year. I think most guys are playing hard physically. Some aren't always focused mentally, however, and the team is no longer doing all the little things (maybe they feel their talent is such they no longer have to).

Holmqvist has been great the past 2 weeks I think and with that early goal against the kings he has really played well. He stuck up for chistov against the kings and pahlson yesterday, how he got 17pims on that ruutu play is stupid but holmqvist has been one of our top players the last two games.

I tried to tape the game. But when I got home, my wife had changed the channel to the home and garden network. So I got 3 hours of house decorating! :madfire:

Oh well, it's not like we won or anything. I watched the highlights on the SCSR.

Anyone care for a game of Tiddly-Winks?

They show Duck highlights on the SCSR? From what I remember it used to be "the Ducks played a hockey game tonight, Dave Rucchin had 3 assists but missed all his free throws."

Only because the SCSR was on right after the Ducks game.

And, Booger, everyone knows, Dave Rucchin plays curling. :shakehead
