MonacoBlue 09-29-2007, 01:00 PM How many points do you guys think the Zach Attack will get?
I'm assuming he'll be playing with Zajac and Gionta, so his points totals shouldn't be terrible...
tangible_faith 09-29-2007, 01:25 PM I say somewhere around 75. If he gets more icetime on the #1 PP unit he can get up to 85.

Devilswede 09-29-2007, 02:06 PM Parise had good numbers last year in a VERY defensive system with Julien. One year older and better, plus the addition of Sutter as coach means more offense and better stats for Parise.
I say he ends up with 37+42 = 79 points
UBCsalmonslayer 09-29-2007, 02:16 PM 80 points plus
Darius Dangleaitis 09-29-2007, 02:23 PM We all know he can score, but I think you'll see some of the playmaking skills that he showed at North Dakota.
That said, 38+40=78
MoonDragn 09-29-2007, 04:18 PM 45-40 - 85!
newfish 09-29-2007, 05:09 PM 75 to 85 points seem about right.
MonacoBlue 09-29-2007, 05:45 PM Wow guys you really think he's going to breakout this year? 85 points is better than Gomez' average year. I'm a big fan of Parise but with Langs out the Devils' offense is looking a little thin so he'd have to be a star to put up that many points.

Dakota Sioux 09-29-2007, 05:49 PM Pretty lofty expectations for my man from the land of the FIGHTING SIOUX.Hopefully Sutter opens things up for the offense and he should so I think Zach is capable of 35 goals and 40 assists.

With Gomez's departure I think guys like Parise and Zajac will really step it up. Like some people mentioned, Julien ran a really defensive minded system, so I think everyone could get a jolt as far as production goes from Sutter's system.
NJD1982 09-29-2007, 08:13 PM I think if Gionta does play with Parise and Zajac it will be a huge weapon in our offense. But if that does happen I am a little worried the protection, Gio and Parise are not even 6 foot.:shakehead

frankiedue 09-30-2007, 04:15 PM rotoworld said to expect 40-40 and that parise was a dark-horse candidate for 100 points!
my prediction would be 35-45... i would think that zajac's progression would increase his assists. it hurts that langenbrunner is out but we'll see who steps up.

MoonDragn 10-01-2007, 10:07 AM Is that totally out of the question? Why couldnt he?
Cause someone shot me down for saying he was as good as crosby. While I think they are probably right. I do think Parise has got the talent to hit 50 goals and 100 pts eventually.

Parise is not as good as Crosby, Parise just has a better attitude.
I was a little high on saying 135 points, but he is capable of hitting those numbers, if not this year maybe next season. I do see Parise hitting 40+ goals this year for sure.

Parise is also better-looking. I think the multitudes of mancrushes among Devils fans can attest to that :D. I wish the Devils would market him even just a little more.
I'd say at least 80 points and 35 goals. It's not out of the question for him to reach 100 points, especially since it looks like Sutter is willing to open it up more. I was listening to Parise's interview in the Devils' site and it seems like he is looking to take on more responsibility and "doing more of the same."
Bob Clarke Fan Club 10-01-2007, 11:19 AM 75-80 Points. Not too shabby cause he's got better years ahead. Explosive

Zach Parise is much more like Ryan Getzlaf and Thomas Vanek then he is Sydney Crosby in terms of production right now. I can see him close to 80 points this year with health and luck on his side.
phiflyers2003 10-01-2007, 11:45 PM Hmm guess i should pick up Parise in my fantasy league then, was about to ask what devil fans thought about him.
devsfan8 10-02-2007, 09:37 AM Now that he has made the team and will play with Elias and Zubrus, what do you predict Bergfors point totals will be this season as a rookie.
I go with 18 G 30 assists for 48 points.
cj225 10-02-2007, 09:56 AM Does he play the whole season should really be your question! Who goes when Langenbrunner comes back?
I'm gonna go with 14 goals, 10 assists for a total of 24 points (because he won't play a full season).
Overtime98 10-02-2007, 10:01 AM Does he play the whole season should really be your question! Who goes when Langenbrunner comes back?
I think he will play the whole season.....As far as point, goal totals, he will probably see maybe 15 goals as his first year in the pros.
MoonDragn 10-02-2007, 10:06 AM from the way he plays, he's more a goal scorer than a passer, so I'm guessing
25 goals, 15 assists for 40 pts.

If Bergfors has 14 goals as a replacement for Jamie Langenbrunner he will play an entire season. Bergfors is going to play with Elias and Zubrus. He is more suited for the NHL and is having a hungry pre season. I think he is in the Devils plans for the length of the season. Langenbruner can play on the RW of Madden-Pelley when he is back and Asham can move down to the 4th line with PAndolfo and Brylin and rotate in and out of the lineup with Clarkson.

When I made that comment that he won't play a full season, I didn't mean in the time frame from Thursday until Jamie returns he'll score 14 goals.
I think total, he'll score 14. Because I think he'll be coming up and down throughout the season!
Randal Graves 10-02-2007, 11:02 AM I'll go with 14-17 goals and about 20 assists. I think he can score more than that but will likely get shuffled in and out of the lineup unless he tears it up.

yea but if he comes up and makes an impact offensively that quick, why send him down? If Jamie returns send someone else down, like pelley or clarkson. there is a REAL good chance Bergfors plays the whole year.
MoonDragn 10-02-2007, 12:00 PM You know we're bored when we're arguing about projected point totals for a rookie who hasn't seen any real season games yet.

Clarkson Falls Down 10-02-2007, 12:12 PM I'm gonna go with 21G and 19A for 40 points. Seems pretty reasonable. Zajac and Parise had similar numbers their rookie years, and I expect Bergfors to struggle alittle like those two did as well.
Darius Dangleaitis 10-02-2007, 01:29 PM 15 goals 13 assists if he plays the whole year.

yea, put langs on the 3rd line than. if bergfors is producing offensivley, than langs would be a perfect fit on the 3rd line. langs is better than both pelley and clarkson

Why would we need to? Unless I miscounted, we have 22 people currently on the Roster. We're allowed 23.
Even with the addition of Brookbanks, we'll be ok at 23. When Langenbrunner comes back, we'll just rotate the people in and out of the roster depending on who's hot that day.
EDIT: Oops I forgot to count our Goalies. Ok so we'll be at 25. Well we could send Brookbanks back when both Cam and White come back. We just have to decide which forward we get to send to the minors when Langs comes back. Hopefully that would be Cam heh.

langs is an everyday player. he isnt going to be swithced in and out with some rookies. and you cant rotate between pelley clarkson and bergfors because they are all very different players and if we did we would have to screw with teh lines everytime we sub one in

No thats why we could sub them. If a line needs more grit, we send in Clarkson, If a line needs more offense we send in Bergfors.
Pelley I think would stay put where he is.
My guess is that by the time Langs come back, somebody else would be injured anyway.

i certainly hope not
MoonDragn 10-02-2007, 04:26 PM Well the problem with the way Sutter plays the team is that theres going to be injuries. You can't play an aggressive checking game without sustaining some injuries.

yea maybe just bumps and bruises things that are day to day but nobody should get a serious injury. plus we have a pretty tough team taht should play through some pain
MoonDragn 10-02-2007, 04:36 PM Either way, when white comes back, either Brookbank or Mottau gets sent to the minors depending on who is better.
If we keep Brookbank, we won't really need Cam. Then Cam gets sent down and we'll be at 23 again.
TaiMaiShu 10-02-2007, 04:57 PM That seems like quite a large amount for a rookie who probably wont play the whole season.
Optomism on my part. I'm hoping he can earn a spot on the team all year.
Colorado Rockies '76 10-02-2007, 05:17 PM Less than 15 points.
I was stunned to see that he made the team...he had a tough time in AHL last season. Unless he performs way beyond expectations, he's going to get sent down at some point, and when that happens I don't see him coming up for a while, if he comes back at all this season. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing for him to get a shot though...at the very least, he's going to get a taste of regular-season NHL action. Hopefully he'll stay up long enough to learn about the NHL...I just think next year or even the year after is when Bergfors will stick around for good. Keep in mind he's only 20.
Brooklyndevil 10-02-2007, 06:12 PM I haven't seen this kid play one minute as of yet. I'll get back to posting his point potential after opening night. ;)

Devilswede 10-02-2007, 07:53 PM No, he's not the main PP d-man. Main PP d-men are Andy Greene and Karel Rachunek.

TB Sheets 10-02-2007, 10:02 PM I'd hazard that Martin and Greene (#1 and possibly #2 defenseman) have more total points between them this season than Rafalski and Martin (last year's #1 and #2) did last season.
Devils9789 10-02-2007, 11:12 PM 40+

Sorry man, nothing against you personally but it just gets annoying this time of year when threads keep popping up on this board with fantasy hockey related questions...especially when they're not labeled as such. Mods cracked down on a bunch of OT threads just a few weeks ago when nothing was going on in the world of hockey & I'd just like to see something done about threads like these, especially when the information is clearly out there in threads like our lineup projection.
Other teams' boards (such as the Islanders) haev a sticky for all fantasy hockey related questions which keeps threads like this from continually popping up & I'd like to see something like that done here next year. (Not a knock against our mods, who do a really good job...just a suggestion for next year.)

I completely agree. I wanted some info on the Flyers players for example, and there was a sticky thread there. I didn't even need to post a message, my answer was in there already.
To the OP, Elias plays left wing and only that. He is listed as a center but hasn't played that position in a long, long time. He will either be a 1st line or 2nd line LW but will always be on an offensive line. His numbers from last year should be the minimum you should expect from him although I am not personally as optimistic as many Devils fans about him having a great season this year.
