ZZ Pops 09-28-2007, 02:45 PM Cool beans, but don't you have the wrong link?
The Mad Crapper 09-28-2007, 02:46 PM Mike Mottau made it as well? :amazed:
Did he look that good in the preseason?
MoonDragn 09-28-2007, 02:47 PM wow even Mottau. What did you guys think of him? He didn't seem to stand out in the preseason games at all. Dunno if thats good or bad.
4check22 09-28-2007, 02:50 PM wow even Mottau. What did you guys think of him? He didn't seem to stand out in the preseason games at all. Dunno if thats good or bad.
Well, Tommy Albelin wasn't available this year, so . . .
åboriginal 09-28-2007, 03:17 PM guess i can stop rooting for viuhkola and malmivaara to make the team.....perkele. oh well :(
Darius Dangleaitis 09-28-2007, 03:20 PM Interesting about Corrente. Maybe they're just keeping him up for the final preseason game.

8 defensemen and 13 forwards? Would guess that's subject to change.
If not, LOL, Mike Mottau is back in the NHL. Enjoy the press box, Mike! :handclap:
Brooklyndevil 09-28-2007, 03:23 PM Wow. I really excited about Bergfors, Clarkson and Pelley making the team. I just hope they prove they belong. They don't have to be great, but they do need to be good. Good luck guys! I guess Mottau makes it has our 7/8 defensemen. Oh geez, I forgot about Corrente. Man, this team sure got young.
Brooklyndevil 09-28-2007, 03:28 PM wow even Mottau. What did you guys think of him? He didn't seem to stand out in the preseason games at all. Dunno if thats good or bad.
I guess he's a warm body and they want guys like Fraser and Zimmerman playing major minutes in Lowell.
Devils9789 09-28-2007, 03:30 PM Placed on waivers were: goaltender Frank Doyle; defensemen Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre and Ian Moran; and forwards Noah Clarke, Grant Marshall, and Ryan Murphy.
Brooklyndevil 09-28-2007, 03:30 PM Who would you start opening night on the road: Corrente or Oduya?
Brooklyndevil 09-28-2007, 03:32 PM I also get the feeling the Sutter is very comfortable with the young guys. It's all he really knows, coaching kids. Will see how it turns out.
Classic Devil 09-28-2007, 03:37 PM Who would you start opening night on the road: Corrente or Oduya?
Corrente. Get him ten games and see if he'll stick ASAP.
Gunnar Stahl 30 09-28-2007, 03:54 PM wait wait, i thoguht that bergfors was sent to lowell

Nope, Gulitti said before that when that other list was published, the Devils hadn't made any cuts.

o well thats good.
id like to see corrente play early in teh season with white out
Devilsfanatic 09-28-2007, 04:43 PM I think this is a good group. I can see Frank Doyle getting picked up on waivers.
BCdevil 09-28-2007, 05:13 PM The only game I saw Mottau was Wednesday and he looked okay. He got beat for the Isles goal for whatever that's worth. From February on last year, he was the best player on Lowell's team and that includes Minard and even Clarkson when he was still here. He had a very good chance to break camp with the Devils last year. He would have taken Oduya's spot had Cam "waste of space" Janssen not hit him from behind in camp and fractured his neck.
Brodeur 09-28-2007, 05:21 PM I think this is a good group. I can see Frank Doyle getting picked up on waivers.
Doyle seems like a goalie that every team already has. Maybe he's the type that'd get claimed on re-entry waivers once teams start having injuries throughout the season.
Ie, somebody like Jason LaBarbera cleared waivers at the beginning of the season, but the Kings didn't call him up out of fear of him getting claimed. And further submarined their season by calling up their #4/5 goalies instead. Off the top of my head, guys like Michael Leighton and Sean Burke cleared waivers initially but were claimed while being called up.
wingmanpei 09-28-2007, 06:51 PM I think we'll see Corrente be with the Devils for the 9 or 10 game maximum allowed for junior players and then a decision will be made whether to send him back or not. But if he is able to play at this level this season, I hope they keep him up.
Give'em Hell! 09-28-2007, 08:06 PM I think this is a good group. I can see Frank Doyle getting picked up on waivers.
nolan schaefer, yann denis, and david leneveu did not get picked up, doyle doesnt have a prayer of getting picked up. with that said i really like this group as well other than the retread mottau
Unthinkable 09-28-2007, 08:33 PM Corrente. Get him ten games and see if he'll stick ASAP. Feel the same way about Corrente over Oduya. Lets see what he can do early on.

thats prolly sutter and lou's intention except it can only be nine games i believe, i hope him all the best but if the pens didnt think letang was ready last year i and they are much more liberal with there youth i cant see a more conservative organization like nj keeping corrente past nine games. i think this is purely to get his feet wet and give him a look.
Jason MacIsaac 09-28-2007, 09:58 PM Feel the same way about Corrente over Oduya. Lets see what he can do early on.
Just watched the Islanders game on nhl.tv...Corrente looked really sharpe in that game and droped the gloves instantly against a bigger tough jackman standing up for Brodeur. Still looks a little thin...in the old NHL that would make a difference but with Robinson teaching him the ropes lets hope he catches on soon.
