How great is this
Lupul has been called back up

The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled right wing Joffrey Lupul from the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

A 6-1, 200-pound winger, Lupul played three games with Cincinnati, scoring 3-2=5 points. He earned his first career professional hat trick with 3-1=4 points on January 4 vs. San Antonio after being sent to the AHL club on January 2. The 20-year-old (9/23/83) has played in 34 games with Anaheim this season, earning 6-8=14 points with 18 penalty minutes.

A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Lupul was drafted by Anaheim in the first round (7th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

Im glad he is back, but I'm curious why recall him now when Leclerc is about to return and Holmqvist started playing better.

Will there be top 6 forward ice time for Lupul??

Hey Murray call up Kunitz while your at it.

He is on fire. 2 More goals tonight so far.
Fighting major as well. Nice to see that he is able to stand up for himself.

Sooo....?

Prospal-Fedorov-McDonald
Nieds-Rucchin-Lupul
Chistov-Pahlsson-Sykora
Bylsma-Krog-Holmqvist

?

Or maybe Nieds is more wounded than we were led to believe? Or reaggravated something? Even so, with Leclerc coming back so soon...

i'd keep holmqvist with chistov.. that line did some damage in the kings game...

So do you put Lupul or Sykora on the 4th line? Obviously that's rhetorical, it would be Lupul. Why call him up to play him 5 minutes a game?

Unless there's an injury or a trade, I don't agree with this call up. If he was sent down to get a message or to get some confidence, is three games really enough? Holmqvist was the best player on the ice, why demote him to 4th line duty? Why break up lines that finally seem to have some chemistry?

He's been likely called up to be named to the Young Star team. He'll also likely stay up untill the game.

Have you heard that somewhere? Because that seems like a pretty gay reason to call someone up.

homosexual or not, that sounds possible.....the league has begun to announce All-Star players...I don't know when the YoungStars are announced, but it is likely Lupul will be involved

Well, I'm not too sure on how they select the teams for the YoungStars game, but it could be that he can't be selected while in the AHL.

BM might also think he needs to make more of an impact with the guys who decide the teams, so that could be another reason.

Am I the only one who thinks that that's a stupid, trivial reason to call someone up?

I agree with you

I dont think that is the reason to call Lupul up
I think BM and Babs have a role for Lupul now
But only time will tell

GO DUCKS

So Lupul is being called up because he's gay? :dunno:

Anyways, I think the Ducks need offense. The trip down to Cinncy was to restore Lupul's confidence. Now he's being called up to hopefully provide some offense for the Ducks. I don't believe that he's being called up just for the young stars game.

Yeah, we scored 4 goals last game, but it was against that mighty defensive juggernaut, the LA Kings. :D

I like those lines, i think i would switch sykora with either lupul or nieds though.

Maybe they'll scratch Ruccing so he can rest and stop playing like a girl. :dunno: :handclap:

Maybe they'll dress some of our soon to be excess forwards as d?

Or better yet trade our excess forwards to upgrade our d.

BM said in the Register that he'll wait and evaluate the healthy roster, which of course means we'll see a trade tomorrow.
