AHHHHHHHHHHHH. I knew I should have waited until this year to get the new jersey. Oh well.

I like the change. Subtle, but attractive. :) Is it just me or is the Anaheim Duck logo smaller?

Have to see the whole thing but I like it so far.:handclap:

That neck collar kills the jersey big time, what a terrible jersey.

Ah, well the arm stripes start lower i guess. No big D for us!

The collar makes it look like a monk's robe or something. It looks about as good as can be done, considering I don't really like the basic collar and bottom edge of the Reebok jerseys. Although at least the orange stripe makes the jersey a little less bland, my main complaint about last year's ones.

I don't understand the Red Stripe. The beer or the thing on the jersey.

It is orange, not red. The reason they have orange in the jersey is because Ducks play in Orange County, California.

It's looks ok...

I think I'll just keep my current jersey from last year for now though. I like those ones better.

What logo? :sarcasm:

Yes, its smaller. I've always been 50/50 on the new Ducks jersey. I like the orange trim, but I don't like it on the collar of this new one, at least being right next to the gold color. In that picture, it looks like he's wearing a orange necklace.

I don't like the collar either. And I really hope the arms have something, anything on them!!

Davey Duck

The orange part of the collar is okay, it's just the gold part flaring out like that which makes it look so strange. And how come we can't see any sleeve color on there? It looks superboring with all the attention drawn to that collar.

Elvstrand

Pretty much the same as last years, just as boring. At least I'd wish we had gotten another logo... Just the webbed D would have been better.

they should ditch the collar and make everyone wear turtle necks.

Anyway, as for the collar itself, it looks not so great, but it doesn't look that bad in the bigger pic IMO. I just wish the shape was different.

Are there no sleeve stripes because they use templates, or can we just not see them. Everybody has a big press conference and everything, the Ducks just realease some crappy picture.

Why not a lighter shade of orange, instead of using road cone orange?

Aeryn
09-12-2007, 09:03 PM
Have you driven through OC lately? Caltrans orange is appropriate. ;)

Seriously, I was expecting a gold emphasis given the new track suits that the coaches/staff are wearing.

Here is a better image on the duck website

http://cdn.nhl.com/ducks/images/upload/2007/09/FrontUniform2.jpg

It has the same arms and bottom as last year. Smart idea. Having a jersey for 1 year and changing it would be a bad marketing idea. The collar is different and the ducks logo has been downsized

A little, but the Ducks are like the only team who didn't have to use the template. They actually got to keep the swooshy stripes. The logo is scaled down with the jerseys, thats the only reason they're worse. The collar adds something by keeping the colors consistent throughout the jersey, but the shape is a little weird. The bottom line is they are unique and definetly a top 10 Edge jersey. Ducks fans should be very happy we got to keep our jerseys.

Does this mean we wont have the players' number as our side patch anymore?

On the plus side, now the authentic jerseys won't look so ridiculous on smaller guys, sans pads.

Get rid of the gold flared collar and the NHL logo, then the jersey will look soooo much better! But just because the jersey is the best of the worst, doesn't mean it's the best for this team. heh

Well at least its the best. :)

I don't think an NHL logo around the neck makes it look better either, but the collar I think goes good with the rest of the jersey. Just by itself it looks pretty weird. I like having more gold and orange throughout. Mixed feelings about it.

I won't be getting a new one, I've got both the home and away from last year. There's so little difference it's not worth it. That and the little NHL logo looks crap.

No, I think that, along with a number on the back is a requirement for hockey jerseys. I don't think there's a team that doesn't have numbers there. Whoever is wearing that jersey in that picture is wearing an unpersonalized version.

I think every teams jersey has the NHL logo. I don't think it is optional. So considering you can't do anything about that, I am glad it is so much like last years. As it should be. I think the Ducks wanted it that way. Marketing wise they can use all the same logo's, signage, player images, etc for there really isn't a big difference enough. Last year when you would see pictures of the Ducks in the old green and white, you knew they were dated.

For the most part it's okay. The NHL logo by the collar makes it kinda look like a necklace. Ha, NHL bling. (sorry, I'll stop with the bad jokes.)

All in all, I'm glad they didn't go crazy and screw it up like they pretty much have with most of the jerseys in the NHL.

Here's a good pic from NHL 08. Great jerseys. I'm glad we came out of this alive. We are like the only team with a unique/non-template jersey after this whole Edge thing, and they still look great. You have to be happy. If you're not you are just being unreasonable. :)

Saw in action tonight and they looked good to me. I actually like the orange stripe. There's not even a noticeable difference anyway. I still need to get an away jersey but I'm waiting to see if Bobby Ryan will eventually wear number 9 or not.
