So I'm going to the Devils page on nhlpa.com (http://nhlpa.com/WebStats/PlayerSearchV2.asp?OIDTeam=9486) to look and see if we signed anyone and it wasn't announced in the news yet ala Marshall and Janssen and I see that McGillis isn't listed on the Devils page. Then I noticed he's not anywhere on the NHLPA website. (He is listed on nhl.com though)
Anyone know why? I didn't see any retirement announcement from him or anything, so I was just wondering. Has he signed with another team?
Also, don't take this as me saying I want the Devils to pick him up, because I don't. No more McGillis in Jersey please.

In general, NHL players are only listed on the NHLPA site when they are on the 23 player NHL roster or injured reserve or LTIR. So players that did not finish the season on the NHL roster or were not on the roster relatively late in the season are usually not listed. The NHL database/site works differently, lists pretty much any player that was under NHL contract.
Was McGillis listed earlier in the summer on NHLPA's site, I would be surprised if he was.

I'm pretty sure he's unsigned too, but all the other unsigned Devils are still listed on the nhlpa.com site. :dunno:

Ok that makes sense, but I don't believe Mottau, Doyle or Jordan Parise were ever on the 23 player roster. Or maybe I'm mistaken.

They were called up as black aces during the playoffs around or at the same time Marshall was recalled.

Most folks think McGillis is done in the nhl. I fro one think he has climbed out of the chateau bow wow & could help out somewhere. Maybe he'll sign a 2 way contract. I would have no problem seeing him come here/lowell.

Rumor around his neck of the woods is that his agent was talking to washington, edmonton ottawa and one other team. Ottawa has since then signed Richardson so I dont think they are still interested in Danny. I hope he gets a chance to be a third pairing d with some power play time before he hangs them up for good.
there was also another rumor he was contemplating Russia
