Bertuzzi will play with Getz and Perry...his style doesn't fit McDonald and Kunitz. Put Bobby Ryan with the Kuni and the Mac.

Agreed... However, losing Selanne would certainly not help Andy's point production. But I actually think Teemu is more depending on McDonald than vice versa. Selanne can be totally invisble at times (which is normal since he's a winger) while I also think McDonald can rack up goals many times on his own.

What makes me think that McDonald's production might fall is less ice time if Getzlaf and Perry impresses and takes over the 1:st line. But on a first line I think McDonald is very much capable scoring 70+ points even without Selanne.

I know I'm hoping that his point total minus Selanne will suffer, but from watching his mastery in the playoffs, I'm not so sure it will.

However, with the emergence of Getzlaf last year, if Selanne doesn't return, is there any chance McDonald is pushed down to the second line with Bert and Kunitz for Perry/Getzlaf/someone else?

To follow the speculation path, has anyone thought of a line of McD-Getzlaf-Perry as your 1st PP unit at some point this yr ? Those guys are your 3 main offensive threats so far and I remember that McD had LW eligibility on Yahoo 2 years ago so hes probly not stranger to wing. What do Ducks fans think ?

If Scott leaves, the 1st pp would be an umbrella with Getzlaf, Pronger, and Schneider at the point, Perry working behind the net and along the boards, and Bertuzzi as the screen in front. But if Scott comes back it would be business as usual with him being the rover.
