No total rankings? :shakehead

McDonald should be faster than that. But I guess you will be able to edit players just like it has been the last couple of years.

Yeah, it's kind of weird seeing Pronger with 87 speed, and then seeing Andy Mac with an 87 speed. Something about that doesn't sound right.

I believe they are considering size when the are ranking speed... Pronger will not be as fast as McDonald in the game although they will both have 87. McDonald will still be faster because he's less heavy, at least that's how it has been working in earlier games.

If they had made Pronger much slower he would have been extremely slow in the game. He will still be slow compared with smaller guys having 87 in speedranking.

I am thinking that's correct as well. I think Pronger will have the same max speed as McDonald but his acceleration will be much slower.

Pahlsson had a 90 in defensive awareness but Sidney Crosby got a 95? I know Crosby is a well-rounded forward, but I don't think his defensive-game is as good as a Selke finalist's. Also I've never seen Scott Niedermayer's slap-shot (always makes wrist-shots) but is it that fast that it rates an 89? That gives him the 2nd hardest shot on the team (in front of Getzlaf, Schneider, and Beauchemin). Overall it looks like the team's ranking will be much higher this time. In NHL 07, they gave the Ducks the same ranking as the Kings (85!). Incredible how inaccurate EA can be sometimes.

I thought it was even stranger to see rob neidermeyer rated 91 in the speed category.

EA is far away on its hockey games, however I still think it's better then the 2k games. Any of you play online? I play Madden and Gears of War mainly. Hoss21 is gamertag. Add me if you want to play.

No he isn't.

He can be. When he originally came into the NHL one of his biggest strengths was his speed for his size. He's rather mobile for a big guy. He just doesn't use it that often.

beauchemin should have a 90+ slap shot?

Are players given their overall rating based on the average rating they received in each category? Or are they just given one?

I believe that it's based on other attributes. Now i'm only about 90% sure on that, but that's how other EA games are that I've played.

wait wait, crosby got a 95 on defensive awareness??????:shakehead

jay pandolfo only ot an 80, A SELKE FINALIST LAST YEAR. john madden only got like a 91, which isnt bad but CROSBY GOT A 95????

what is the point of having all those defensive stats in this years game if they are all BS anyway?

why did pahlson get a 90 and pando an 80?

Elvstrand

I think the reason for giving Crosby 95 in defensive awareness is because they want him to be around 94-97 overall...

I believe it's already decided how good a player will be overall before creating them, and because of that they are making other attributes close what they want the overall skill to be.

Don't forget point production is always considered when they are making the players for the game... Which is what the players overall skills is based on to 90%.
