I copied this from Allducks; it was posted on the Ducks' message board as well. Hopefully we can get a huge crowd going this year.

------------------------------------

Here are some posts with info about a group buy we as Ducks' fans have been doing for a few years. I have had a few of you that visit both boards request I post here as well. Please keep in mind that updates will be put here but may not be as timely as the message board linked from the Ducks website.

We just wanted everyone to know that we've already got our ticket agent from the Kings working on next years Royal Execution!!! For those who don't know what that is, it's an opportunity for you as a Ducks' fan to support the team at the Staples Center when they play the Kings away from home.

Last year we were lucky enough to have 2 Saturday games where we had 33 and 66 Ducks fans in attendance respectively. This year, we don't see why we can surpass the 100 mark and my goal for our group is to hit 200!!! The largest group they have ever had was close to 500 and although that might be a big tough this year...though we do expect over the next few years to over take that record.

Please keep in mind that although the game isn't until the end of the season, it will be the fan appriciation game for the Kings!!! How sweet it will be to have a large group being "appriciated" by the Kings organization... Also, we will have access to tickets for the other two away games at the Staples Center for a discount but being mid-week games, please understand that we aren't expecting a huge turnout but we will support anyone who wants to go.

We are still working on the pricing, food and drink coupons like last year, and exactly where our tickets will be but expect around $40-60 per ticket including food and in the 200s behind the goal on the Ducks' shoot twice side. We are hoping we will get a deal like last year but because it's their last game of the year, it could be tough to get a discount. As soon as we have prices and deadlines for payment, we will let you know. Please keep in mind that we are going to have to purchase at least half of the tickets we want held by Thanksgiving and we'd like to make our first purchase around the begining of the season. Please help spread the word to friends, family, and co-workers that this is their chance as DUCKS' FANS to have a wonderful time with fellow fans in enemy territory.

We are lucky that the game is a 1pm start time so no one should be worried at all about saftey, bringing the kids, or even bringing your grandmother to this game! Plus the fact you will be surrounded by dozens and maybe even hundreds of like minded fans, this should be a game to remember. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS IS FOR DUCKS' FAN ONLY!!! NO KINGS FANS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND WITH OUR GROUP - NO EXCEPTIONS PLEASE. If you have a kings fan that wants to attend either with you or on their own, please let me know and I'll be happy to get you seats WITH our discount NEAR our group, just not in the middle of our group. We want everyone to have a good time and for our section to show up as a PURPLE, AND SILVER (GLITTER) FREE ZONE.

Ducks' management will be aware of our seating location and will do their best to support us via our media if possible. Sorry for the early announcement, but we are hoping for a huge turnout and the sooner you start saving your pennies the less excuses I will have to hear about missing the deadline for tickets...I hope.

Ok, everybody still ready to commit? Please keep in mind that because the April 5th game is their fan appreciation game, there is very little chance I'm going to get them to discount the tickets much if at all. All I can assure you, is that we are getting the free hot dog and soda which is better than a kick in the head (or a Kings hat which they always try and give us ). With that said, it looks like I'll need to collect $65 from each person for the tickets we got last year. It seems a bit high to me and I'll work on getting a quantity discount but it will be much easier to give you each a few dollars back than to collect more, so that's where I'm at.

Now for the good news...Here is what I got worked out and I hope you are all as pleased as I am!!!

If you pay for your April 5th ticket by September 1st ($65) you will not only get your ticket and food voucher to that game, but you will get a ticket and food voucher for the September 15 preseason game for...wait for it...FREE!!!!!!!!!!

I'll now start working on the bus/van idea to the Staples Center for both games and let you know the minimum committment and cost for each game. Please be patient as I'll be travelling next week on business but I'll try and get you some prices and options over the next few weeks.

For those of you who haven't gone with us before and let me give you a brief explanation of how we pay for the tickets and deliver them to you. We use PayPal for the money transfer because we are all so spread out around Southern California (and beyond) because meeting up usually is more hassle than it's worth. PayPal lets you pay via credit card or bank account and I have a debit card that our ticket rep charges out tickets against which directly comes out of the PayPal account everyone is paying into. Make sense? Now, for those who don't know me (and if you haven't gone with us in the past you probably don't) feel free to ask around if I'm trust worthy or not. I'm a 5 year season ticket holder who just about everyone here knows or knows of. I successfully collected money for three games last year in this same way and amazingly everyone got their tickets and I didn't run off to Vegas with it. After you pay for your tickets, please understand that I won't get the tickets until about a week before the game. So you will have two options to get them from me. 1st, meet me at the 1st home pre-season game at my seat 1, row D, sec 421. 2nd, I always go to the games a few hours early to meet up with everyone outside of the entrance. Once you pay for your tickets, you will get my cell phone number and it will be hard to miss me and the multitude of other Ducks fans waiting outside to meet you. If we do a bus, of course I'll hand out ticket on the bus and when we get there to anyone who drove on their own.

I hope this all makes sense and that everyone is as excited as I am about the free tickets. Recap...$65 per person via PayPal to cpudoctor@yahoo.com (or send me a PM/email letting me know how many in your group and I'll email you an invoice if you aren't familiar with PayPal or you don't have an account already) gets you tickets and food vouchers to the Saturday preseason & regular season games at the Staples Center in LA when the Ducks play the Kings - ONLY IF YOU PAY BY SEPTEMBER 1ST!!!

Any questions?

Also let me add the following...please don't wait until September 1st unless it's a financial issue now. The sooner I get money from you, the easier my life is. I'm able to update our ticket rep and make sure they don't release the holds they have placed on seats for us. For example, if I think we are going to have 100 people at both games, I'll have them hold 200 for the April game and 150 for the September game. The closer it gets to the September deadline, the more they pressure me to pay for the tickets or tell them they can release them to other groups. If they won't let me reserve that many tickets then some of you may miss out on sitting with us or in our main group of seats. Please pay for your ticket at any time, today included, and remember that if you aren't having to save your pennies please pay sooner than later. Also, if you know that you want two tickets but you have a buddy who may want to go that won't let you know until the end of August, please pay for the confirmed tickets first and we can always add more later. I don't do seating arrangements until I get the tickets and so far, everyone has gotten to sit with not only their group, but I try and get you close or next to other friends that bought tickets separately.

Keep in mind I don't get paid to do this and I pay for my own ticket as well so anything you can do to make my job easier is very much appreciated!!!

Ok, here is my latest update. I have created an invoice that allows me to send anyone a request for payment from PayPal and doesn't require you have an account. Now that I have the template created, it's virtually no work for me to send out invoices. If you need or are even thinging about going with us, just send me a PM or email telling me how many tickets you want and what email address you want me to send the request to.

We have our first 10 tickets sold between my 4 and the 6 that Casey paid for (sorry, don't know your screen name off hand)!!! I've sent out invoices for 11 more tickets so we are on our way.

Please let me know if you need an invoice and lets get them paid for ASAP please!!! The sooner we pay for them, the better chance of getting all of our group together in the best seats possible.

No kidding.
But whoever thought of that originally, props. I wish I could get involved but I'll be 8 hours away.
And if anyone wants to do something like that against the Sharks, I'm game.

And some day this might even approach the 200-300 King fans who group together to enjoy a good "Duck Roast". Good try, but you have a LONG way to go.

I respect the Ducks fans that came up to Staples when the Kings were better, but there weren't too many Ducks fans to be found until the second half of the 05-06 season..you know, when the Duck fans were pretty sure they were going to win.

Where was this three seasons ago or even at the beginning of two seasons ago?

This should be fun as long as any of you who are participating in this aren't as clueless as the two douches that sat next to me two seasons ago. Hopefully you will have enough of a crowd to get a decent chant going. Kings/Ducks games at the Pond/Honda have always seemed more intense because of the large contingent of Kings fans in the building; I'd love to see that happen at Staples as well.

Of course, a Stanley Cup winning team should be able to draw 300 of its own fans from only 40 miles away: make it happen.

Not as long a way as the Kings have to go to ever win a Stanley Cup.

The instant defensiveness of Kings fans is pretty funny.

The Kings future is a lot brighter than the Ducks. Sure the Ducks are a good team now, but the Kings have them beat in the farm clubs.

Well of course, how long have the Kings been rebuilding without any results? Give the Ducks that much time to rebuild and we'll have just as many good prospects as the Kings.

The future is something abstract, the Ducks' Stanley cup is a fact. I'll take the cup over a bunch of full of potential prospects any day. It's good to see some hopeful Kings fans around though.

The Kings should be one of the top teams in the NHL within three of four years, tops. It would surprise me if your "Execution" group would ever match an LGK group at the Ponda in that same period of time.

That said, I echo BigKing's sentiments.

Would you rather have $50 million right now, or a whole bunch of lottery tickets? I guess some Kings fans would take the tickets.

BigKing

Nobody would rather take the tickets so let us just retire that analogy.

What can a Kings fan say to trash talk right now besides boasting about prospect depth? The smart Kings fan would possibly crow about how the Ducks fanbase is still rather lethargic as a whole and it remains to be seen how many are at The Ponda due to the novelty of a winning team.

This "Execution" business is a good chance to silence that argument and show that there is some serious support behind this team. It sure is easy to go to a free rally in your backyard to celebrate the Cup victory but it's another thing to drive 40 miles to watch them play.

Actually, it's only 40 freakin miles which I've driven up and back for the last 6 years to see every home game and, like I said before, there was hardly a Duck fan to be found until the latter half of the 05-06 season. In reality, the true test of how the fanbase has grown will be the kind of support shown when the Ducks are not a great team and travel up to LA. Unfortunately for me, this doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon save for a string of injury-plagued seasons.

But really, please come out and be vocal. You have a Stanley Cup winning team that you can see 4 extra times (most years) and you probably only have a 2-hour roundtrip TOPS. It will be truly pathetic and anger me about the Cup win even more if I don't see a bunch of Ducks fans at Staples this year or in London for that matter.
