Hmmm, seems he didn't "fit" in Buffalo according to the article. Another offensive minded veteran d-man never hurts. I always thought the Devils should have gove after Jason Wooley last year when he got waived... he's been a nice addition for the Wings. Anyone think we should take the chance on this guy?

NJ plays a defensive system and IMO, I don't think Delmore would be very successful in NJ for 2 reasons.
1) As an offensive d-man playing in NJ, his stats will lower. Niedermayer and Ralfalski are proof of this.
2) Delmore playing defense.

I'd rather see Ray Giroux get a callup myself. Check the Sabres forum for thoughts on Delmore. They want to lynch him!

I've never been much impressed with him, he'd just probably take up space.

Listen, don't think anything else about it. As a Preds fan, trust me when I say he would not be a good fit in NJ. No defense about him, and without a great PP guy (Kimmo Timonen) he can't do anything. Look at his offensive stats this year, he is nothing more than an ECHL-caliber guy hanging on in the NHL because he has a hard shot. Scrub.

Agreed on Giroux.
Delmore is a decent #5 but wouldn't crack the top six in Jersey. Would anybody really want to give him quality minutes over Hale or Martin?
He'd simply be an Albany addition but would flourish there. Worth looking into if he'll take a two way contract. Delmore is the kind of guy that can't necessarily hurt your team if you make him accountable.

I like David Hale but i think he still needs some tweaking.....And Delmore would help out the Power play......You pair him with Nieder on the 1st unit, and Friesen and Rafalski on the 2nd unit......I d say why not take a run at him......
Our defensive cores could be
Stevens-Martin
Rafalski-Delmore/Hale
White-Nieder
Split time with Delmore and Hale.......Get Rid of Alblin he sucks

He's not a decent number five. Last year, he wasn't barely a decent #7. He wouldn't be #5 on any team with a semblance of a defense.

I don't like him on the Devils simply from what I've heard about him from other fans.
But the point is moot:

Get Rid of Alblin he sucks
What is this? Albelin is solid. You could have said that he sucks two years ago. The guy completely turned his game around last year and is still playing at a level close to that. Then there's the fact that he's a team player and waited for the Devils to contact him in the offseason before he made a decision about where he would go.
Lou rewards guys like Tommy.
