Ok, I'm going to make my first prediction of the year. Ducks win this one 3-2. You heard it hear first.

Well, it's a promising start. I guess that's all I'll say about it.

Jeez, now our own John Ahlers is calling Holmqvist "Holmstrom".

lol, Hayward said the kid's name is Hugo, not Hudo. Fricken Register.

Well, that's game.

Where the hell were the defensemen? Carney again. He's been brutal all year. He's like Havelid lite.

And you would think after the first commercial break he would've fixed it.

A word for the wise don't try and follow the game from Detroit Red Wings game thread they only seem to post when they score and completely ignore the game when they don't.

Way to go Andy Mac! Quack, Quack!

I thought Vishnevski, and Salei were awesome tonight.......i can't say that about the rest of the D though. Carney, and Havelid definatly arn't nearly as good as the were last year.

Spankatola Jamnuts
01-03-2004, 08:37 PM
Yeah. Giguere, Andy Mac and especially Vish were great. Everyone else...no that's not true. Nieds had a good game. It disturbs me that on a line with Nieds, Rooch, and Andy, Rooch is the perimeter guy.

Fedorov was invisible.

"Ovechkin watch", Booger? Puh-leeze. There's no way we'll get Ovechkin. With our luck, we'll lose the lottery too. Way to be suportive, though.

What a great thrill to see Vishnevski play like that. That was easily the best game I have seen him play (albeit I have only seen about 50 ducks games).

I'm not really interested in your evaluation of my support.

If you think support is only possible through mindless faith, I'll leave you to your fantasy world.

I feel that this year we'll get one of the top three picks! :handclap:

About the game it's curios how Vish has improved his game while the rest of the team (except Salei and Andy Mac) totally sucked. :dunno:

Oh well, if not Ovechkin we'll get Malkin! :yo: (hopefully)

We haven't hit rock bottom yet, fez.

That'll come Wednesday night when the Kings tear us apart in our own building, with all the trolling idiocy that comes with something like that from people like those.

the ducks played well,Saleis turnover killed us.

I got a strange feeling that the Duckies will beat the Kings. It'd be awesome if it were like that 6-5 game from January 21st (?) last year.

Quack on!

We have no chance at Ovechkin.

We might not even draft top 10.

McDonald and Niedermayer had good games.
I love to see Vish hitting like he was.
Giguere can only keep us close for so long...wheres the offense???

send down Holmqvist give someone else a chance....Kunitz!!!

Well, we are currently 25th I think and in pace to go worse. Maybe not Ovechkin, but we'll draft one of the top kid thought.

Cam Barker? I'm gonna search information, don't know much of him.

I checked Barker' stats and he looks very good. Is he the first in the NA ranking?

Anyway, I would rather prefer a power forward type of player to pick but watching the Ducks this year they have holes in every department so Barker would be also very good.

Were thin on defensive prospects. Barker would be perfect. He is going to go top 5 in the draft though and we probably wont be able to draft top 5.

In years past it seems like the team with the worse record for some reason always won the season series between the 2 teams....at least i think so anyways.

I know hes top 3 american ranking....i havn't seen the actual list yet though. I do know though that hes the highest ranked defenseman in the draft....yes like you said a power-forward would be nice with Ryan Getzlaf almost for sure making the team next year, I think someone like barker would be perfect for us.

Wow. Does this year suck or what. Only early January, and we're already talking about next year's draft.

I definitely think we should draft a top defenseman. We have Lupul, Getzlaf, Perry, Brent at forward. We've drafted mostly forwards the last few years. We need help at the blueline.

Fedorov and Carney are the two oldest guys on the team, follwed by Rucchin, Ozolinsh and Johnson.

Then Havelid and Simpson.

Then Gerber, Salei, and Niedermayer.

Yeah. The TSN roster I used doesn't list Bylsma or Leclerc.

Fighter
01-04-2004, 08:03 PM
Well, my point of view.

Johnson can go: trade or release is okay anyway.

I'm not a huge fan of Bylsma even if he's a good guy and a vocal leader. If Anaheim traded Selanne and survive the departure of Kariya, they can survive without him. (I'm not sure of his value BTW...)

Leclerc: he's good and we lack of power forwards but I think there's better around the NHL. What about a Leclerc for Huselius trade?

Gerber is trade bait IMO. Bryz is definitely a huge young goalie and Jiggy is Jiggy. Trade Gerber could be a good idea, if anyone is interested in a good back-up.

Carney: great last year, this year he' struggling big time, maybe for the injury, maybe like the rest of the team. In any other team he can be a good 3#-4# d-men and we can make a good trade out.

Just a thought.

Winning help a lot finding money. Then if you don't win anymore often GM rebuild the franchise and sincerly the Ducks need to trade some ******** and bring in the NHL some youngness.
