A day early for a game thread but I am going down for tomorrows game. I hope the wait at the border isn't to long but I have heard it is about 5 hours right now! We could make things alot easier by winning this game, going into detroit where they have lost just 3 home games all season and then a hot dallas team, buffalo is a much needed win. Hopefully we can keep our little winning streak going. I have never seen the ducks win live so hopefully things will change!!

LA Times says that the team didn't practice Thursday and we won't know until Friday's morning skate how Giguere is feeling.

Financially, the Sabres are stable at the moment. But the team needs to rebuild. They should start by trading Satan and bringing in a new coach.

Right now I think are biggest problem is that are GM wont make any moves, supposedly he just put Andy Delmore on waivers but according to my sources he wasnt. Darcy needs to shake-up the lineup even if we are starting to win a couple of games. As for another problem consistent goaltending is hard to come by, Mika Norenen was starting to take over the #1 spot when he suffered a groin injury , so you probably will see Marty Biron tonight.

Makes sense in one way, pairing a puck moving defenseman with a stay at home defenseman.

But on another level, I guess you could question that pairing, since Sauer is somewhat inexperienced, and obviously, Popovich has no experience.

Personally, I think Sauer is quite mature and should be able to work well with another young defenseman.

Popovic and Sauer were paired last year in camp.

The first goal was courtesy of a Carney turnover. Then Salei. Then two that Gerber just sucked on (although Carney missed his check badly in the neutral zone to set that one up, too).

Rucchin has Anaheim Captain's Disease - can't hit or be hit, won't skate through checks or go to the net. The Fedorov lovers are just wrong. He's pretty, but mostly ineffective.

I'll predict right now that this team won't make the playoffs. Regardless of the outcome of this game. Unless a significant roster move is made, we'll be on the heap with the rest of the flukes come April.
