Anyone know if Sykora was ever an alternate captain with the Devils? I saw a Sykora jersey on EBay, but it has an A on it.

ummmm he was my favorite player and I don't recall ever seeing him wear the A....

if he did it was probably as a fill-in for someone who was injured or sick...

I saw a similar thing last year, someone selling a Gionta jersey with the A and the 25th Annivesary Patch. Looks like they just took a bunch of blank replicas and did them up as they saw fit.

Be careful with eBay if you're getting a jersey, I got myself an authentic Gionta w/o tags but one of the numbers on the back wasn't completely stitched...didn't matter to me though since my girlfriend is good with the sewing machine and I got a great deal on it. Just don't be surprised when stuff like that happens.

That wouldn't be too bad, I can fix that as well, but I usually just buy them blank and put the lettering on myself. What does bother me about eBay is when they come and reek of smoke. Those just go right in the garbage.

I've seen that too. I sell a lot of jerseys on eBay, one time a guy asked me to put the '94 cup patch on a Jagr jersey. I reminded him that Jagr didn't play for the Rangers in '94, but he didn't care. That would bother the hell out of me though.
