While Jamie Langenbrunner has not yet skated since arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, Stevenson said his spirits are higher than they've been in some time.
"It's been more frustrating than anything," Stevenson said. "The infection kept coming back. I wasn't taking my time. I had to wait for it to go away."
Stevenson said the infection is gone.
"As far as I'm concerned, it's gone again. But that's what they said after the surgery and it was almost as bad as during the playoffs," he said. "I couldn't believe how quickly it went downhill.
"I feel good. This was the first time I skated with any competition or force. Now I have to get back in good enough shape to compete in a game."
