If the B's continue to slide[and it certainly looks that way: 9 L's in a row at home!] and their owner is in the press demanding player trades I'd hope NJ looks into dealing for this UFA. He'd be owed about 1.75 more in salrey.

NHLPA PLAYER BIO

Glen Murray was drafted 18th overall in the 1991 Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins. He made his NHL debut that season on January 28, 1992 against the Nordiques and scored his first goal on the same night. He played five games that season and scored three times. He then played 15 games in the playoffs as the Bruins reached the Wales Conference finals before losing to the Penguins. In 1992-93, Glen played 27 games at the NHL level and scored seven points. In 1993-94, he joined the Bruins full-time and scored 18 goals and 31 points. In the shortened 1994-95 season, Glen played 35 games and scored seven points.

On August 1, 1995, Glen was traded with Bryan Smolinski to the Pittsburgh Penguins for Shawn McEachern and Kevin Stevens. In his first season with his new team, he scored 29 points and helped the Penguins win the Northeast Division title. In 1996-97, Glen was traded on March 18 to the Los Angeles Kings for Ed Olczyk; he finished the season with 30 points in 77 games split between the two teams.

In 1997-98, Glen paced the Kings with 29 goals as the team improved 20 points to make the playoffs for the first time in five years. He had 60 points, co-led the team with seven game-winning goals and scored his first career hat trick (April 13 against the Flames). He scored two goals in four playoff games. In 1998-99, Glen scored 31 points in 61 games as he missed 19 games with a right knee injury. On December 3, he played in his 400th career game. After the Kings had missed the playoffs that season, Glen returned healthy in 1999-2000 and scored 29 goals to lead the team back into the playoffs. In 2000-01, Glen scored 18 goals and 39 points.

In 2001-02, Glen was traded on October 24 with Jozef Stümpel to the Boson Bruins for Jason Allison and Mikko Eloranta.

I'm still kinda ripped over the cheapshot two hander he took to John Madden's wrist after the empty netter in the playoffs. Mad Dog might have a few words to say to him if he ever was dealt here, but I don't see it happening. That said, I'd still love to have someone that can score as many goals as Murray can. He's really matured into a great player on his 2nd stint with the Bruins since the Allison trade, although he still lacks strong physical play and leadership both.

Boston is a playoff team and wouldn't want to see their second best scorer playing against them in April. No way he gets dealt. Thornton, Murray, Knuble is a good line.
