Why would you break up Madden and Pandolfo? I think I'd rather see Darby as the 4th line center and Rupp play 2nd. Hell just for this game I'd rather see Rupp play 1st line C just because I don't want to see Elias with Gomez again. So it looks like this:
Elias-Rupp-Brylin
Friesen-Gomez-Berglund
Pandolfo-Madden-Gionta
Philman-Darby-Skrlac

I think what they could do is have the centers be Madden, Raz, Gomez and Rupp and have Philman play one of the vacant forward spots. At least that's what I would do just so I can see him play.

you know now I think of it I'm surprised that didn't call up Suglobov, he's been solid all year while Philman as just got hot. Still it's good to see one of the top prospects coming up.

Yeah so was I. I was almost half disappointed that he didn't get the call but seeing Philman isn't so bad.

I have waited for Pihlman to get called by the Devils. A great start for a new year 2004. It's intresting to see how he plays...IF he plays. Happy new year to all.

How did Pihlman perform? I can see that he got a bit over six minutes of ice time, but that's all here in Finland. I suppose he played in the fourth line...

He didn't get a chance to kill any penalties or log some minutes on the PP tonight. He blended in ok and didn't really do anything that stood out in my mind. No real big hits or pesky play per se. Pretty quiet night for him all in all. He was out there on the fourth line with Darby and Rupp, but if you blinked you'd miss their shift. They saw a bit less action then they likely would have if the Devils hadn't had so many power plays in this one.
