Pickup game type

Basically, do we want to have an ice game, roller game, or foot game?

I'm not around for the summer, or else I'd totally be down. But, I think you guys should play outdoor roller, it's cheap (free) and more people have probably played/could play roller.

There's a great rink on Cook Campus at Rutgers.

It seriously is, I made the transition and the game just move so much faster. When I go back on rollerblades I feel like I'm stuck to the ground.

Ice is faster, but not as much as you think if you never played real inline hockey on a proper court made for hockey. Playing outdoor inline is not even remotely close to the same.. inline on sportcourt or similar special surface.. much better. The puck is fast and the skating isn't stuck-in-mud.

I play league inline on a real surface because it has reasonable times for games and its cheaper..

I have a servere dislike for roller in all of its forms, just because it screws around with my skating on the ice.

That is true. Also, it messes up your feel for the puck (shooting, etc) since the puck's a tad lighter in roller.

Oh god I'm so mad that I live in Chicago. I am coming back sometime in August, so if the two coincide can anyone lend me some equipment? :)

oh, but then we better break out the Geritol because most NYR fans are out of shape, over-40 types who haven't skated in about 25 years. :D
