Should we acquire Fedorov?

This is based on only the rumor that he's being shopped, but maybe BM should take a chance and acquire Fedor Fedorov, Sergei's brother.

Fedor has been struggling with both Vancouver and Manitoba, so he likely can be had cheap. Should he become a Duck, he could come out of his shell, like many others have (Nieds, Stumpy, Jiggy, etc.), and playing with his older brother would be a definite bonus.

So, what do y'all think?

Can he bring Sergei out of his own shell?

Can he play defense?

1-Probably not-but who knows...
2-Nope.

geez...first it was "let's acquire Steve Kariya"
now that Fedorov is our big name up front...let's acquire his little brother

I guess having a lil bro who is splitting time between the NHL and AHL is a required in order for a player to be the top offensive threat for the Ducks....

Fedor always was upset that the Wings didn't draft him.

:D

What about Scott Niedermayer? Maybe Craig Sauer can play in goal? Any other brothers out there?

Yeah, I know about the whole Steve Kariya thing, but I posted this mainly because he's available and has decent potential and skills. Him being Sergei's brother is just a bonus.

Also, it wouldn't take much to get him as Spectors is reporting Burke wants a conditional draft pick. We took a chance on Stumpy for less than that.

And I wouldn't mind acquiring Robbie's brother to play for the team. :D

Well honestly it shouldn't take much to get him.

Did someone say Steve Kariya....w00t!

He's got all the skill in the world (not quite as fast as Paul though), but obviously his size is his downfall. Pretty much destined to ride his career in the AHL

He did have 27 points (9G, 18A) in 65 NHL games (spread over 3 season). But he just turned 26, and if he doesn't latch onto an NHL roster now, it'll be once a year call-ups (if he's real lucky).

When the Ducks had Sean Pronger I had always hoped for them to pick up his little brother Chris.

Having both Niedermayer brothers on the Ducks would be great!!!
