I realized that we're 7 points back with 46 games left to play. Last time I checked, that is a surmountable obstacle.
Thank God Dallas has sucked this season or we might not have a shot at the division title this season.
If this team can pull their collective head out of their ass and play like this all season, we will win the division.

They won't, Vishinator. We said this after the Colorado game, after the St. Louis game, after that pathetic points streak. Everything you said is hypothetically true, but...

January is a tough schedule for the Ducks. I would be happy if we were sitting at the .500 mark by the end of the month.

January looks like this...
LA: 3 games
Detroit: 2 games
Colorado: 2 games
Vancouver: 2 games
Edmonton: 1 game
Minnesota: 1 game
Columbus: 1 game
Dallas: 1 game
Buffalo: 1 game
Calgary: 1 game
15 games in 31 days and 30 possible points. In the Colorado game they didn't really look that great but Giguere did (and he caught some lucky breaks). Tonight gave me hope.. they were crashing the net, Giguere was stopping pucks and they actually looked like they cared. Those things have been missing but my optomistic side is telling me they might just carry it into Carolina.

Well I'd for sure like to be .500 going into Detroit.
Looking at that sked, though...I'm not expecting more than 8-7 at best.

If we can split the games with Detroit, Vancouver and Colorado and take 2 out of the 3 from LA, we have a good shot of having a great January. Easier said than done though.
After Christmas last year, who honestly thought the team would catch fire like they did? It could happen again.. besides, Niedermayer and Leclerc will be back soon hopefully and that should help out.

Leclerc would be reeeally nice about now. Ozo and nieds, too.
I hope Murray gets us a top 4 defenseman. Somebody who can pass and hit. Intelligently.
Any of those kicking around?

Let's not get too high. It's just one game. A good road win against a pretty good team. But let's wait till the Ducks string a few good games together before we start talking playoffs or division title.

Don't worry, I fully expect a loss on New Year's Eve.

In a strange twist, that's the right attitude. :D

Dallas tied Montreal. Phoenix beat the Kings 4-0.
So we're 5 back of Dallas, who entered play in the 8th spot in the west.

well he may not be ideal but what about James Patrick?sure he's 40 but he's a leader,he's smart he can pass and hit. He wouldn't be hard to get but we do need someone with Ozo going down.
and to think a month ago we wanted to trade a defensemen
