In Spengler Cup action, Canada won their second against Jokerit 4-2. Popovic's goal was the game-winner. Though I didn't know Popovic played for the Canadiens:
Mark Popovic, a Stoney Creek, Ont., native and former Montreal Canadiens defenceman, scored what turned out to be the winning goal at 3:46.

They have him confused with Peter Popovic, who did play with the Habs.
Or else Peter Popovic is the one playing in the tournament and they've gotten his name wrong.

Yup its our Popovic. Don't you guys follow our minor league team? He was loaned to team Canada for this tournament.

I think the confusing thing was that the article stated Popovic is a former Canadiens (MTL) defenseman. Most of us knew that he was being loaned for the tournament.
