Hmmmmm......ok, but I won't put them in any particular order. Jimmy Howard (Maine) - Drafted in 2003 by the Detroit Red Wings Yann Danis (Brown) - Will be a Free Agent (meaning he wasn't drafted) this spring. Mike Ayers (New Hampshire) - Drafted in 2000 by the Chicago Blackhawks Adam Berkhoel (Denver) - Drafted in 2000 by the Chicagio Blackhawks Alvaro Montoya (Michigan) - Will be draft eligible in 2004 Frank Doyle (Maine) - Will be a Free Agent this spring Mike Betz (Ohio State) - Will be a Free Agent this spring Matt Zaba (Colorado College) - Drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 2003 Sean Fields (Boston University) - Will be a Free Agent this spring Bernd Brückler (Wisconsin) - Drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2001 Dov Grumet Morris (Harvard) - Drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in 2002 Curtis McElhinney (Colorado College) - Drafted by the Calgary Flames in 2002 Brian Elliott (Wisconsin) - Drafted by the Ottawa Senators in 2003 The following players, I'm listing because I think they're quite good, could have a good shot at going pro (not necessarily NHL) and put up (or have put up) some terrific numbers. Note that these players are neither drafted nor will be graduating this spring: Tony Quesada (Holy Cross) Isaac Reichmuth (Minnesota-Duluth) Mike Brown (Ferris State) Now, I'm likely to update this list as I see the various teams around the NCAA and watch how their netminders perform, but what I've listed is for the most who I feel are the top/consistent performers. Perry91502 02-04-2004, 09:14 AM Id put freshman goalie Jim Healy of Merrimack up there too Hockeypuck 02-04-2004, 10:03 AM Id put freshman goalie Jim Healy of Merrimack up there tooHe'd be lucky if he was top 15 in HE. Right now hes just a freshman...Ive seen the kid play, he played a helluva game against us at Umass last Saturday. The kid is good montreal 02-04-2004, 07:36 PM Well I think McKee from Cornell has looked good for a freshman and has put up good numbers, but I don't know if he has NHL abilities, as he does seem to flop around a bit but he gets the job done for the most part. Brown from Noter Dame looks like a good one. I thought he played well in the Everblades classic, as Brown and McKee went head to head. Teemu 02-04-2004, 07:59 PM Mike Ayers :yo: was amazing last year, although less so this year Hockeypuck 02-04-2004, 11:13 PM Not at the moment...Im talking about potential man. The kid is goodI've seen him play 3 times this year twice against Maine in person and once on TV against BU and I wasn't real impressed, but who knows he might turn into a good one. I think MC should play him more because I do think he's definitely better than Guenther. Hockeypuck 02-04-2004, 11:29 PM Mike Ayers :yo: was amazing last year, although less so this yearI've seen Ayers numerous times and he's a good goalie. Although this past weekend I watched Maine light him up for 10 goals in 2 games and he got pulled both games :D He looks like he's lost his confidence and the team in front of him is playing really soft from what I saw. Evilo 02-05-2004, 03:14 AM No Goepfert? Where would he rank? And where would Crawford-West rank? Perry91502 02-05-2004, 08:58 AM I've seen him play 3 times this year twice against Maine in person and once on TV against BU and I wasn't real impressed, but who knows he might turn into a good one. In one of the games against Maine...he came in after the first period (which Guenther started), and shutout Maine the rest of the way stopping somewhere in the area of 31 shots over 2 periods. Trust me, Ive seen him play a number of times, and the kid has skill. He'd be helped out numbers wise if the team in front of him wasnt a joke. If youre a goalie at MC, your basically getting shots like your team is trying to kill a penalty for 60:00 a night Hockeypuck 02-05-2004, 11:12 AM He is definetly better than Guenther. The 5-2 which he started he looked pretty shakey, but could have been one of those nights. Is he starting tonight against BC? I'm probably going over to the game so maybe i'll get to check him out tonight. He has started the last 3 games now, but they have only played 1 game in the last like 10 days, so fatigue isnt an issue there. If I had to guess, Healey starts, and maybe vs. Pearce | ||
