Jiggy, Pronger, and May on Leno Tonight (6/7/07)

J.S. Giguere, Chris Pronger, Brad May and the Stanley Cup will appear after the opening monologue on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.

Woot! This is real unlike the last time I posted a Leno notice. (I hope anyway). ;)

I too will be watching. Though I wish the NHL were more like the NFL because after the Super Bowl, Leno and some other late night shows hosted the winning team's players and stuff.

Wonder if Leno will do his usual, " 'boy, no one cares about hockey, eh Kevin?' 'HA HA HA HA HA, oh man Jay.' " Sorry, not a big Leno fan, but I'll watch it anyways, just for Jiggy, Prongs, and May.

I think he did it twice, actually. I think he was on there with the beard, and, then he went on after they were eliminated with the Conn Smythe.

I've only seen clips of the 1st time. I remember I was going to watch it and I fell asleep. Didn't some fans criticize him for doing it during the playoffs?


No way I'm missing it this time around though.

This will be good, I get the Detroit feed of NBC here so I will be watching @9.30 mountain, instead of having to stay up. :handclap:

Someone has got to get this onto youtube. I'm a huge Brad May fan, but Leno is on waaay past my bed time (I have to get up at 4AM everyday).

I just saw it, it was pretty good. The announcer guy John Melendez I think, was drinking out of his cup like his normal routine, then Jay questions him saying why are you drinking out of that cup, when you could be drinking out of the Stanley Cup.

Then May (holding the cup), Jiggy and Pronger come out, they talk about how all 3 of them are Canadians and other stuff. They said they partied by getting drunk with their families, and Jay said thats close enough to being American. Then Pronger gave Melendez a protective cup from his crotch to drink out of, and the segment ended.

Leno kept asking May if he could hold the cup, and he didn't respond. Even when they shook hands, May held the cup in 1 hand while shaking Leno's hand in the other. May didn't want to let go of it, lol.

The bad part about this segment is that right after, they had a 20 min long segment about the NBA Finals, while this got about 2 minutes.

I don't know if that was written to be a joke, but I liked when they said where they were from:

May: I'm from Canada
Pronger: I'm from Canada
Jiggy: I'm from Montreal

From what I've heard, EVERYTHING on Leno is planned in advance. An audience member can't pass gas without it being approved by the producer in advance.

That was better than I expected! :) A little short, but this was on short notice. The ESPN hockey theme was a nice touch. I like that song. Two good jokes with the Montreal thing and the "cup" as well! :biglaugh:

I just watched it as well. I thought it was a little too short, but that's better than nothing. I'd also like to point out that hockey players might be the worst actors ever.

I can personally testify that this isn't true (the passing gas thing).
