cmcdmania 06-07-2007, 02:34 PM Official Fan Celebration is Saturday
The 2007 Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks are inviting all fans to attend the team’s official Stanley Cup Fan Celebration on Saturday, June 9 at 6:30 p.m. just outside the south entrance (facing Katella Ave.) to Honda Center.
Fans in attendance will receive free Wienerschnitzel hot dogs, Pepsi Cola and Aramark barbeque potato chips. The event will feature the entire roster of the 2007 Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks as well as live music and entertainment.
Parking for the Stanley Cup Championship Fan Celebration will be free for all attendees. In addition and in an effort to lessen impact on the environment, all beverage containers and products associated with the Wienerschnitzel hot dog giveaway will be recyclable.

I will be there, sporting my snazzy, new draft day hat. I can't miss out on free food. Oh yeah, and the Cup.
cmcdmania 06-07-2007, 02:48 PM I'll be there.
I read somewhere about nametags. Are we doing that?

Chone 06-07-2007, 03:09 PM YAY!!! I must goez!!!!!!
Will the players be up on stage or something or behind booths? I doubt they will be just walking around (though it would be cool) for the fans to just mob.
BraveSirRobin 06-07-2007, 03:44 PM As I mentioned earlier, I'm there. If need be I'll have a nametag. Why not?

cmcdmania 06-07-2007, 04:53 PM I know it says parking is free but does anyone know the price, if there is one, to get into the celebration?
Ducks_è_Halos 06-07-2007, 04:57 PM Is everyone wearing their jerseys?
I'm hoping to get more signatures from this championship team--I especially want Burke's. The only thing is, I wanted to get a SC 2007 patch pressed on to my jersey but there are signatures where it's supposed to go (I was going to "S. Niedermayerize" it but he signed right where the "C" goes).
DucksWon'07 06-07-2007, 04:58 PM Is it free for anyone?

I'm not sure either. I would think it'd be free as no prices have been mentioned.

Snap Wilson 06-07-2007, 06:41 PM No, I'm not going to wear a nametag, sorry. That's a little too dorky. I won't be rocking a jersey, either, since I'll be flying directly from work at Houston and aside from two pairs of t-shirts and jeans are business suits, so I'll either be totally overdressed for the occasion or else completely incognito. However, keep an eye out for the devastatingly handsome guy with a Jessica Alba-lookalike on his arm.
He'll know where to find me.

snarktacular 06-08-2007, 01:58 AM Well my chances are pretty good of seeing at least one of the 23 obobo's.
But roughly 2.5 times more likely to see one of the 71 lyons.
Too bad I'll be 3000 miles away from the party. Free women too.

Nah, I've seen lions at the zoo. Just once I'd like to meet an obobo.
Any chance any of the other 97 ktulu's will be there?
boutmuet 06-08-2007, 09:06 AM Party at the Hond Saturday around 6pm, who's going to be there? I hear some bands, probably including Pennywise are going to be there along with 20,000 people.

cmcdmania 06-08-2007, 03:23 PM What time are you Duck-a-holics planning on getting there? Gonna being early or fashionably late?
Lyons71 06-08-2007, 03:34 PM I could wear a jersey with "lyons 71" on it. But it wouldn't be a ducks jersey...
So maybe i'm just gonna put masking tape across my chest and write "give us your lunch money" on it...
soya_sauce_chicken 06-08-2007, 03:38 PM i can spot Lux in the crowd
he's a white guy
Ducks_è_Halos 06-08-2007, 04:03 PM What time are you Duck-a-holics planning on getting there? Gonna being early or fashionably late?
Early. I don't know exactly when though. I am always way early to the games too.
cmcdmania 06-08-2007, 05:57 PM I've been working on nametags but I can't seem to decide which one looks better:

Or

BraveSirRobin 06-08-2007, 06:40 PM Shoot, I'll wear a nametag. You guys can't miss me, I'm going to be the guy in a black Ducks jersey. :sarcasm: Haha, but I'll be hanging around the free food area. Free food=me there.
DucksWon'07 06-08-2007, 07:29 PM DFC has my name (display name too) tattoed on his butt. Just look for that.:sarcasm:

Ya know... if you do it this way, then I don't think there's a need for the "Hi, my name is " portion. The HF boards, Avatars and Screen name will do. If anything, just add Press on there to make it seem like there's a whole bunch of reporters on location covering the party. = )
I don't think I'll be able to make it... my brother and his family are coming in from overseas after four years and are only gonna be around for a week.
soya_sauce_chicken 06-09-2007, 11:29 AM i'll be heading out at around 5???

I'm heading out from Riverside around 3:00, and browse at Hockey Giant in Anaheim for a while.
I'll be wearing a black Alpinestars t-shirt and a new draft day cap. I ain't wearing a nametag, though!

Snap Wilson 06-09-2007, 07:27 PM FYI, the parking lot is already full (it was full at 2:30) and there's already a huge crowd of people waiting to get in. I don't think the designated area is going to hold everyone. Get down here ASAP.
Lyons71 06-10-2007, 12:35 AM Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to have a band no one knew play music no one wanted to hear for an hour? I could understand if it was before the ceremony, but as part of it? People were booing after the 5th song...
It was great seeing all the support Giguere got. The fans want him back, Burke!
Nice dramatic helicopter entrance for the cup. Too bad the lame band burned everyone out. Seriously, they were demoralizing!!! "this song goes out to..." for every song.
soya_sauce_chicken 06-10-2007, 01:05 AM will post pics tomorrow

Ducksforcup 06-10-2007, 02:46 AM Besides the beginning, I thought that it was SO COOL! :yo: Awesome stuff. My legs are burning for standing for that long, but well worth it! :) The fans were AWESOME!
I saw Big Penns and Getzlaf up close and I saw Parros driving off in a '68 El Dorado I believe. Good stuff! :yo:
From Pennywise on, it was awesome. I have a bunch of pictures as well. Will post depending on how they turn out. I also caught one of the t-shirts they were shooting out of the cannons, but it didn't have one of those coupons they were talking about.

Lyons71 06-10-2007, 04:01 AM There were so many fing people there. There was no way any of us would see eachother.
Did anyone else catch Parros throwing the "rock on" gesture and "motorboating" the air while he was on the bus? I don't know if he knew the camera was on him, but it was so friggin' perfect.
Ducks_è_Halos 06-10-2007, 04:29 AM I didn't wear a name tag and didn't see any either.
I did see that guy from the OC Register pic w/ the "To win the Stanley Cup before the Kings: Priceless" sign though.
Yeah, there were some pretty good chants going. "One more year!" for Teemu, "Re-sign Giguere!" for Burke, and Jiggy, by far, drew the loudest/longest cheers.
Afterwards I went to JT Schmid's and Teemu walked in but I didn't want to harass him for autographs and he went into a private room anyway.
Anyway, I hope Teemu really does take the Arnold route and says, "I'll be back." ;)

It's kind of interesting how there's 2 guys, one with the old jersey, and one with the new, right next to each other. And how the old jersey wearer is smaller than the new jersey wearer. And that the diagonal stripe on the bottom goes the opposite way, so they almost flow together. It's almost symbolic of the team.
I also see that everyone's favorite bum captain finally got a shower and a shave. It's like he de-aged 15 years overnight.

Chistov23 06-10-2007, 01:52 PM Looks like there was a great turnout and everyone seemed to have an amazing time. Good job guys.
Pronger4Pope 06-10-2007, 02:01 PM So after the party I went back to the Ayres hotel (right across the street from the Ponda). Me, my bro and his gf decided to go down to the hot tub around 9:15. As we walk down there, We see Drew Miller walking towards us down a hall. I told him congrats and complimented him on that great hit that set up Mac's goal that one game.
So we get to the hot tub, and Drew Miller and Sebastian Caron are already there with two ladies. We get in the tub and start to talk hovkey with them. Caron thinks that we will re-sign Jiggy at 5 mil/ 5 years. He also thinks that DiPietro's contract is ridiculous. It was funny that Caron knew nothing about the Ducks signing Hiller (I was thinking that Burke didnt tell him on purpose, maybe he is gone?).
As they get up to leave, Miller offers us his uneaten pizza. which we gladly accept. Pizza never tasted so much like Victory!!

:biglaugh: Thats hilarious, but at the same time I kinda feel bad. I don't know how comforting his prediction for Giguere is when he doesn't even know that the Ducks just signed somebody that makes him virtually obsolete with this team.

That's funny. Back when we had Kariya I knew off this chick, total golddigger. A friend tried to set her up with none other than Paul Kariya. When asking about this "mystery" date she asked what he did for work. After being told he played in The NHL she scoffed and said something along the lines off, "Pass. Lyons71 06-10-2007, 09:54 PM That's funny. Back when we had Kariya I knew off this chick, total golddigger. A friend tried to set her up with none other than Paul Kariya. When asking about this "mystery" date she asked what he did for work. After being told he played in The NHL she scoffed and said something along the lines off, "Pass. I need a man who can provide for me and the lifestyle I've become acustomed too.":whaaa?::m-confused::m-shocked::amazed:
Can't believe some people think the way she does... (regardless of the hockey comment, referring to "lifestyle I've become accustomed to" part) :shakehead

That's the tree that the t-shirt went into. T-shirt as in the ones the pp girls were shooting out. I believe it was an orange tee and it landed right in the middle of the tree.

Lol, Perry looks like a little kid on Christmas, like it's the coolest thing that he gets to sit in a real fire truck.
Hollander 06-25-2007, 02:00 PM Supposedly, this whole event was on TV (FSN). I don't know because I was out of town. Did anyone happen to tape/tivo it? If so, is it possible for me to get a copy (dvd)? I'd be happy to pay you for your troubles :handclap:

McDonald19 06-25-2007, 06:09 PM I assume some of the Celebration and the Arnold Speech will be included at the end of the Stanley Cup DVD that the NHL is releasing in July.

If you go to the Ducks website and look at DucksTV, they have a video from the celebration. It shows most of the highlights, including the Governator's speech.
