Info on Jaroslav Hlinka ?Bam Beet* 06-01-2007, 12:42 AM The Avalanche just signed him. What type of player is he and what are his chances of making the big club? tomik88 06-01-2007, 03:02 AM he is playmaker.he played in sparta prague with david vyborny before 5-6 years. DivochLubo 06-01-2007, 08:54 AM He is playmaker and the best player in the league. His stats were reg. season 46 games 19 g. and 38 as. and in play-off 16 gam. 4g. and 12 as. Vatican Roulette 06-01-2007, 12:29 PM Is there any chance he'll turn into Jiri Dopita? Rexor 06-01-2007, 02:26 PM Dopita was a much more dominant player in Europe before he left to Philadelphia. There's no comparison between them. Hlinka is a good Extraliga forward, great hands, good vision. He lacks toughness and strength to succeed in international hockey and I can't see him making it in the NHL. He got a two-way contract, didn't he? I don't wan't to write him off too early, but if he makes the Colorado team this summer, then I know nothing about hockey. He's the poster child of good European players who cannot be succesful in the NHL. And he's 30, so that he shouldn't be considered a prospect any more. debil 06-03-2007, 08:47 AM This discussion should be in Central Europe thread. Not Eastern Europe. Hlinka is very experienced guy. Permanent member of the national team. Probably best player in the czech league, or at least belongs to the top of the league. On the other hand Hlinka is not young guy and is used to european hockey style. Hence, it depends on him how will he adapt in colorado. As I mentioned he's not young so there can be a problem with motivation. He doesn't need to build up his career and if he doesnt get enough icetime he can be frustrated and will rather go back to europe than fight for 4th line slot. | ||
