Then again, Milbury's robust style might just be what the Devs need.

That's an incomplete sentence, it should read:

Then again, Milbury's robust style might just be what the Devs need to secure several consecutive Top 5 Draft Picks.

official fan warning:

if MM in any way comes to the devils as anything other than a scout or equipment manager... I'm quiting the devils as a fan and picking up Columbus or Toronto - I can at least get them at rock bottom and ride the wave up rather than face years of riding the downslope only to find rock bottom....:rant:

That would make it the Four M's. Malakhov, McGillis, Mogilny, Milbury.

God help us all.

I know Lou has made some mistakes in the past, but this one would be his biggest and I don't think alzheimers could kick in that fast for him to agree to it.

At first I thought they were going to say that the NYI were going to hire Mike Smith as the GM and make the fishsticks respectable again. But then my jaw dropped at the sheer stupidity of the idea.

The only way that I could ever see this happening (and this would have about the same odds of getting hit by lightning after just after winning lottery) would be that the Devils tank and Lou is guaranteed by Bettman that the Devils get that Tavares kid with the first overall pick.

I'd rather make drunken love to a tall piece of cactus than have that happen.

Is there any news on the coaching front? It sure has been very quiet the last few weeks. I guess Lou is waiting until the draft to make a decision.

He'll wait till after the finals because that's the type of guy Lou is.

I trust Wikipedia more than I trust that guy. Not only does little of the stuff he says makes sense, he's constantly changing his mind about everything. One minutes he says one thing, and the nest he's saying the exact opposite.

There is a key difference between Stan and Eklund and that is Stan doesn't try to pass his stuff like this off has rumors from insiders. If you read what he wrote he said that he thinks Milbury would be a good coach for the Devils, not that he thinks Milbury will become the coach of the Devils. In fact he says that Lou wouldn't want him as coach. He is giving his opinion (no matter how looney it is) and presenting it as just that his opinion.

When Stan does write about rumors it is usually reliable. The simple reason is he has been a hockey writer for close to 50 years and actually has sources.

:handclap::handclap::handclap:

agreed, Just as an example he said that Ryan Smyth was going to Calgary, then he said oh the Islanders have better than X% of retaining him (I dont remember what percentage the Maven used but it was more than 60) Id be willing to bet someone $10 monopoly money that between 6/1 and 7/1 the Maven will say he heard that RS is leaning towards the Rags then Devils, or maybe it wil be the Devs then Rags, he is an idiot and I hated him when he was on our fishsticks jerseys.:biglaugh:
