After last night's awful (but predictable) defeat. I have decided that I will no longer convince myself that this team is capable of winning hockey games, thus any such victories as of right now will become bonuses. I have also convinced myself that we do not have expensive talent like Sergei Fedorov on our roster but rather that we are fielding a team of underpaid kids thus making any effort they show out there "impressive". I have lowered my expectations down to "any victory would be impressive at this point"....It's a lot easier on the stomach to watch the games this way...c'mon out to the pond and cheer these upstart underpaid kids on!

Lets start those Cam Barker threads. :)
I don't think the Ducks will change anything unless they clean house. Lets call up Severson and get rid of deadweight like Craig Johnson and Krog. Give Popovic a chance when he comes back from the Spengler Cup. Get rid of Burnett. Murray has obviously erred on the chemistry of this team and it needs a kick in the butt.

I think you're right about the chemistry of the team; that is something the Ducks definitely had the during the last half of the season and in the playoffs last year. Maybe there were too many changes in the offseason and not enough continuity. With LeClerc injured, and now Niedermayer, there is not one line that is the same as last year. And it's been discussed ad nauseam, but BM definitely miscalculated in not signing Thomas. Pahlsson is doing okay, but Chistov is not the same player, and Thomas would have been a leader in the locker room as well.
I feel like I'm in a time warp back to 2000-01 when I felt like, okay here we go again, get ready for another loss. I also am beginning to have no expectations about winning. At least in 2001-02 they seemed to have a chance in most games they were in because of the defense and the goal tending; that team just didn't have the skill to score enough goals. This year I thought they have the talent, but it seems like they don't have the desire, the drive or tenacity to win.

I did this like 10 games ago. You guys are so behind the times.
