Really not sure I agree with this. For once the team spirit seemed good. This coming one day before an always tough 1/4 match with the Czechs. They should had wait till after the game tomorrow. Nabokov seemed tired already last night so I'm really not sure. Only way I can see him play is in a potential final with Canada. As for Tyutin that's good and changing a D man like Kondratiev is not like swtiching GK. Brylin is very tired also and Nepryaev is doind an ok job. Let's hope this doesn't hurt the team spirit for the big clash tomorrow...

I don't see a problem with Brylin or Tyutin. If their fail, they can be benched after all. How many skaters can you dress for the PO 20 or 22, BTW? Naby is a whole diff story. Too risky as far as I am concerned.

Lidström was not the only one. Both him and Peter The Great where added, and it was enough against a tired USA, but they weren't exactly dominating in the finals, i remember that Lidström had a very poor game, Forsberg got an assist on Alfredssons 1-0 opener, but thats about it.

This is absolutely not the same. Lidstrom and Forsberg are star players and adding them to the squad meant destroying the first offensive and defensive lines, which brought the team so far - certainly no good for the team spirit.

Russia is just adding role players - Brylin is a better Neprjaev, good in the difference, but with more offensive skills so he would be some help for Ovechkin on the 3rd line and Tyutin will add some depth in the defense, which Russia really needs. I guess the players being scratched for them will take it like men, the WC is in Russia after all.

I really hope Nabokov is not that tired and disappointed after the playoffs, cause he's a real help.

Nabokov may not like it but I'd play him as the back-up.
Eremenko is looking good right now but the second he let's in a soft one or starts to struggle.......in comes Nabokov.

Thats what good coaching does. It brings out the best in the players. If you didnt have BAG, I doubt you would be as good as you are now.

This thread jumped the gun a little bit: while Brylin is in Moscow, Tyutin will definitely not be playing due to injury and Nabokov might not be joining the team due to unexpected family related matters. I for one am satisfied with this layout, the team is looking good as is... yet Brylin replacing Kharitonov or Kulemin can't hurt. However, how does one replace a goaltender who a)was perfect in the last game, b)won every game he has ever played for the national team, and c)is statistically the best goaltender in the tournament?

Nabokov is not coming (according to www.fhr.ru), and it is good for the team i guess. Eremenko was great

I would be happy to see Brylin playing instead of Kharitonov. Kulemin brings physical play to the game and is necessary in PK. Nepryaev is just irreplaceable as our best penalty killer and checker. I don't see him being scratched anyway

Brylin is one of the most versitile players in the NHL, I don't think adjusting will be a problem for him.
