Best players thus farZundo 05-04-2007, 03:27 PM So, I have not been able to see any of the games so far. I want to know who the best players on their respective teams have been and why. Thanks in advance for your opinions. Crazyhorse 05-04-2007, 03:30 PM SWE: Davidsson Russia: Morozov Kanada: Toews/Doan Slovakia: Gaborik/Uram USA: Kessel/Pothier Finland: Nummelin Czech Republic: Vyborny IMO ofcourse. 12# Peter Bondra 05-04-2007, 03:43 PM Slovakia: Uram. Surprising that its like that as he was cut from the team, said he would never play for SVK again and was called back the next day after Nagy rejected the offer to go. In fact, its sad that he is the best player on a team with Hossa, Demitra etc. Zundo 05-04-2007, 03:48 PM Whats Uram's past history? What was the reason he was cut, anything in particular? What type of player is he? 12# Peter Bondra 05-05-2007, 01:59 AM His history is that he played most of his career in the Czech Republic. He was cut cause he is a player ONLY for the scoring lines, he really cant defend and with the thought of Nagy coming, he was cut but then he was called back. He is a player who is good in the offensive zone but due to being small and weak, he aint good along the boards or in the defensive zone. cibtom 05-05-2007, 02:03 AM His history is that he played most of his career in the Czech Republic. He is a player who is good in the offensive zone but due to being small and weak, he aint good along the boards or in the defensive zone. he'd played ever good in czech league, but he'd never been called to Slovak national team in the past (so as Peter Pucher) swisdan 05-05-2007, 06:54 AM For Switzerland: Hiller. zecke26 05-05-2007, 09:51 AM as for germany, michael wolf and michael hackert looked the best in my opinion and i'd give the edge to wolf. Hennessy 05-05-2007, 10:01 AM I'm only qualified to answer for Sweden (Davidsson) and USA (Stastny). Sampe 05-05-2007, 11:36 AM Lasse Kukkonen's been Finland's most (OK...only) consistent player thus far. Tritsche 05-05-2007, 02:31 PM Russia: Morozov Czech: Plekanec Sweden: Davidsson USA: Stastny Canada: Toews Finland: T.Ruutu Slovakia: Gaborik Switzerland: Wichser(but it will be Sprunger at the end of the tournament):) hekic42 05-05-2007, 03:03 PM For USA Stastny has played very well, but I think it would be a mistake not to mention Stempniak as well. Seems he's had a very good tournament. chaosrevolver 05-05-2007, 05:24 PM SWE: Davidsson Russia: Morozov Kanada: Toews/Doan Slovakia: Gaborik/Uram USA: Kessel/Pothier Finland: Nummelin Czech Republic: Vyborny IMO ofcourse. What in Sweden they spell Canada with a K? chaosrevolver 05-05-2007, 05:26 PM SWE: Davidsson Russia: Morozov Kanada: Toews Slovakia: Gaborik USA: Stastny Finland: Nummelin Czech Republic: Pleks edd1e 05-05-2007, 05:32 PM What in Sweden they spell Canada with a K? They spell Canada with K in Finland too. Not sure how they spell it in Sweden tho. chaosrevolver 05-05-2007, 07:18 PM They spell Canada with K in Finland too. Not sure how they spell it in Sweden tho.really thats kind of interesting. Is there a reason why? Is there no "C" in Finland's alphabet? Mahox 05-05-2007, 07:43 PM really thats kind of interesting. Is there a reason why? Is there no "C" in Finland's alphabet? There is a "C" in the finnish language. We have all the same letters that you have in Canada plus 3 more scandinavian ones. Swedes spell Canada with a "K" too. "C" is used in the swedish language more as a soft letter like in the word "circus" and such while "K" is used when it's Kukkonen (:biglaugh: ) or such. If you understand the difference. In the finnish language "C" is though rarely used and often replaced with "S" or "K" depending on what situation. Hopefully I haven't completely confused you by now with my nearly nonsense rambling in the middle of the night. 2.42 AM over here ;) PsychoDad 05-05-2007, 07:47 PM Canada is spelled with a K in pretty much every language except engl/french, i guess. All slavian languages like russian spell it with a K, same with german. primetime 05-05-2007, 08:07 PM Uram's awesome with his huge mane of hair. Was he ever drafted? chaosrevolver 05-05-2007, 08:28 PM There is a "C" in the finnish language. We have all the same letters that you have in Canada plus 3 more scandinavian ones. It's 8:28 PM over here. 12# Peter Bondra 05-06-2007, 02:38 AM Uram's awesome with his huge mane of hair. Was he ever drafted? No. Corto 05-06-2007, 03:33 AM What in Sweden they spell Canada with a K? They spell Canada with a "K" (Kanada) in just about every non-english-speaking -country in Europe. Savolainen 05-06-2007, 04:30 AM In Austria and Germany Canada is also spent with a "K". ;) Crazyhorse 05-06-2007, 04:44 AM really thats kind of interesting. Is there a reason why? Is there no "C" in Finland's alphabet? Whateheck, i misspelled, Canada is right ofcourse, but i guess you got my point anyway, why turn it into a OT grammar lesson? Wisent 05-06-2007, 04:49 AM Whateheck, i misspelled, Canada is right ofcourse, but i guess you got my point anyway, why turn it into a OT grammar lesson? It is not grammar, it is spelling. ;) ;) ;) ;) YesYesYall 05-06-2007, 06:33 AM It is not grammar, it is spelling. ;) ;) ;) ;) Touche...touche. swisdan 05-06-2007, 06:49 AM One player who impressed me is Regin from Danemark. Very good tournament for him. Mue 05-06-2007, 09:50 AM Has Plekanec been as dominant as his stats would indicate? msky 05-06-2007, 10:48 AM rus: 1. Kovalchuk 2. Zinoviev 3. Morozov 4. Frolov DisgruntledHawkFan 05-06-2007, 04:25 PM They aren't showing the games anywhere near me, but has Toews really been the best player on a Canadian team with Nash and Doan? chaosrevolver 05-06-2007, 04:32 PM They aren't showing the games anywhere near me, but has Toews really been the best player on a Canadian team with Nash and Doan?yes, he has looked great Vladiator 05-06-2007, 07:00 PM Russia: 1. Zinoviev - Morozov - Zaripov -- all playing like one man. 2. Kovalchuk - has blossomed in the last few games 3. Schastlivy, Frolov I haven't considered defenders, as they are normally less noticeable. Tronador 05-07-2007, 11:51 AM Michael Wolf(GER), just take a look at his stats...;) TC20 05-07-2007, 04:18 PM Toews has been very good in this competition especially on the power play where hes putting up points but other than points Doan and Nash have been pretty dominant and a guy like Lombardi looks good especially with his speed, I could definatly see Lombadi playing on the 2010 Olympic team on big ice kind of like a Draper kill penalties and be used as a checker but most people here will disagree since he doesnt put up 35 goals 40 assists sivert 05-08-2007, 04:06 AM I'd say Morozov and A. Markov for Russia are the best | ||
