WWWWWH? Trivia Question: Which player in the 2006 NHL entry draft was drafted by the Ducks to become a similar player to Palhson and has been dubbed "The Son of God" by many?

Another game is upon us!!! :) :yo: THAT'S RIGHT! The Ducks are coming off a hard fought win on Sunday killing off 7/8 Canuck PP's in the process to maintain their stellar PK percentage of above 90 percent. Meanwhile, the Nucks feel that the game was stolen from right under their noses and they look to recapture the momentum in Game 4. Who will come out on top? WE WILL FIND OUT (tomorrow) NIGHT!!! :) :D

Payday, playoff style (Written by Tim Wharnsby).
The paycheques for National Hockey League players stopped arriving once the regular season ended, but some money is up for grabs in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Figures obtained by The Globe and Mail Monday indicate the Stanley Cup champion players will have 25 shares of $75,000 (all currency U.S.), a total of $1.875-million, to divide among themselves.
"No, it isn't much," Anaheim Ducks defenceman Chris Pronger said. "If you factor in the tickets and flights for friends and family, you actually can lose money in the playoffs sometimes.

Players/Institutions to Watch
-Anaheim Ducks
http://anaheimducks.com/images/200609/1449.f.jpg
#25-Chris Pronger: Chris Pronger, despite garnering two assists in the last game, looked noticeably shaky on the defensive side of the ice. In one instance, he was even deked out of position by Forward Jan Bulis before quickly recovering the puck. Even so, he managed to redeem himself in the second half of the game, especially on the PP, where his value cannot be understated. Rumors are flying around that he had the flu during the game, but these have not been confirmed. Will he bounce back?
-Vancouver Canucks
http://www.canucks.com/images/inbydate06/sep3006/huddle_b.jpg
#1
#2-Vancouver PP Units: By far the story of Game 3 was the anemic PP of the Vancouver Canucks, which is 4/54 in the post-season and 1/20 against the Anaheim Ducks. Even though the Canucks scored a PP goal in the game, their missed opportunities, including two 5 on 3's, ultimately killed their chances of winning the hockey game. Head Coach Alain Vigneault has promised adjustments, but will these adjustments pay dividends?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that is it for me. Hope you all likey! :D Hope you all have a a good one and a good day! See ya!

Randall Graves* 05-01-2007, 03:42 AM I think people are being way too hard on Pronger just because he got deked a single time..yet managed to still break up a scoring chance with his recovery ability. Everyone makes mistakes, the great ones just recover better than the rest. People forget about the other 20 times he breaks up those other 1 on 1 moves. Pronger is playing fine, averaging over a ppg, controlling the pp the only time i've seen him turning the puck over is on hard arounds on the boards and that can happen to anyone based on how many bodies are in the area.
We need to get the upper hand in the first, every first period we've been outplayed mostly. Perhaps our bad habits of not playing 60 minutes everynight are being exposed. Giguere is the reason it's 2-1(literally, if you include that fluke OT goal ;) )
Good GDT as usual, players to watch was a good read.
Go Ducks!!!!
Jerky Leclerc 05-01-2007, 04:49 AM We need to have some killer instinct and win this game. I have a feeling the boys are going to put up their best effort of the playoffs.

I would agree. This is a monumental game and can determine if the Ducks take command of the series or if it becomes a coin flip.
Heavy Hussar 05-01-2007, 10:59 AM at least these games are better than the minnesota series. Go Ducks! Go PPG! Go Flash! Go Kooney!

Nikko 05-01-2007, 04:03 PM Great GDT as always DFC... you are the Sami Pahlsson of our board.
lennie 05-01-2007, 04:30 PM FYI, Cowan, Bieksa, and Fitzpatrick are out tonight for the Nucks.
Losing Cowen hurts :shakehead
caliamad 05-01-2007, 05:25 PM Wow Cowan too? He's been one of Vancouver's most dangerous forwards...
I know that can sound sarcastic and insulting, but really he's done very well for himself.
Steveorama 05-01-2007, 05:28 PM Wow Cowan too? He's been one of Vancouver's most dangerous forwards...
Yeah, sucks that we are missing our 3 best forecheckers (Cowan, Cooke and Kesler), but it is part of the playoffs, other guys have to step up, right?
Looking forward to a great game tonight.
cmcdmania 05-01-2007, 06:09 PM Great GDT DFC!! I'd look more forward to this game if House weren't on tonight. :(

'fraid not. The game starts at 7. House is on at 8. And then the game will end around 9:30-10. I'll most likely watch/listen to both at the same time while doing my homework but my main focus will be on House.
Plus, last game was pretty boring so I'm not getting my hopes up for an interesting game this time.
whoopsie... house is on at 9-10. not 8

wow!! There isn't a tv show or movie or anything else that can come on the tube that would take precedence over my team playing in the playoffs... not even a consideration!!
when my team's in the playoffs, any other entertainment becomes redunant... I can't possibly ever imagine that I'd be watching something else - anything else - when my team's playing!
Hell, I don't miss regular season games for any other show... a playoff game?? I'm shocked to read that here as well... I would imagine that everyone that posts here would be a diehard fan... and I can't possibly imagine any diehard fan passing up watching their team in a playoff game, over any tv show!
my advice - tape house... or tvio it... or d/l the episode and watch it later... or get one of your friends to record it ... but to miss the game for a tv show is just sad for any diehard fan IMO.

My thoughts too, though a lot of my friends that are Vancouver fans (not bandwagoners) are going to the John Mayer concert and missing the game.
Ducks_è_Halos 05-01-2007, 07:11 PM Lets hope this game is allowed to have a little more flow than the last one.
Go :ducks!!!
Btw, cmcdmania, how can you choose a tv show over Ducks playoff hockey?! Don't take these times for granted. :teach:

It's the second round of the playoffs man, it's not like it's a pre-season game or something.

I hate actually playing in hockey games/anything else over missing a rare regular season game I could watch. If I watched on a regular basis, it might be different, but not in this situation.
As for now, Ducks playoff hockey comes first. Homework? Screw it. Somewhere I should be? I'm sick. Somewhere I have to go to? There better be a TV within the vicinity.
This actually happened recently. I had to go to a dance at school(well, didn't necessarily have to, but everyone would've likely hated me if I stayed home to watch hockey over the dance). I ended up dancing a little, but, the majority of my time was spent in front of the TV. It actually turned into the main attraction. Sadly, though, it was because everyone thinks their a Canucklehead now.

I know how it feels.
cmcdmania 05-01-2007, 08:07 PM Sorry to disappoint everyone but I would have been listening to the game on the radio anyways because I don't get cable. I'll have both on at the same time. It's not like I'll be missing the game altogether, which would really really suck.
Sure hockey is great; Sure playoffs are better; Sure Ducks Playoffs are the best; But I've recently got into the sport so I'm not that much of a diehard fan YET. Chew me out all you want. I deserve it. *puts her head down in shame expecting the stones to be thrown soon*

I do that already for regular season games. As for homework, I really can't screw up this month. I get a D or F or if I drop 2 letter grades in 2/more classes, I'm going to a JC or CC. And some of my work is already suffering already.

Jeez, if you wanted to be a better student, you should have become a Kings fan. Plenty of spring study time available.
Still, I'll just echo the general sentiment: (Smack) (Smack) Get your priorities straight!

hockeydemon05 05-01-2007, 08:19 PM So does anyone know the situation on TV?
The Angels game and the Ducks game are both on the same channel and the Angels game is expected to end at around 8. Which cuts about 30 minutes into the Ducks game :(
Do you think the Ducks game will be shown on a tape delay on FSN or will it be cut in?

Jerky Leclerc 05-01-2007, 08:32 PM I gave up my tickets to last Friday's game to my bro and the Ducks lost. There's no way I'm missing another home game again. Bad karma.

At 7:30pm on FSN West they'll show the Ducks game and the Angels game at the same time (half the screen for each game... I think) with the Ducks game audio channel going. When the Angels game is over they'll put the Ducks game on full screen. Very smart move on the part of Fox Sports IMO.
TeMoZ 05-01-2007, 08:44 PM Isn't the Ducks game on Versus?
If you are in southern California then the game will be blacked out.
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 08:55 PM The Angels game is only in the top of the 3rd and it's almost 6:00.
what's going to happen at 7:30?
I hope they don't blackout Versus until FSN switches to hockey.
banana phone 05-01-2007, 08:58 PM few Canuck updates.. not sure if these have been posted:
- Jeff Cowan is OUT. Upper body injury.
- Kevin Bieksa is OUT, but is getting much closer to a return. Maybe Game 5?
- Look for some new PP lines (surprise, I know).
- Fitzpatrick is still OUT

Ugh, hurry up and enddddddd.
damn baseball game, and colon is slow as hell too.
Hockey Duckie 05-01-2007, 09:09 PM Ummm... FSPT is just going to show the replay of the Diamondback-Dodgers game at 7pm. Maybe they could just relay the game onto FSPT, instead of doing the injustice of splitting the screen in half. FSPT will replay the Diamondbacks-Dodgers game late in the evening and the following morning as well, so why not take that time slot? Do a Ducks live thing at 7pm and then follow it up with the Game on that channel. Who knows, the Angels-Royals game could mimic the Dodgers-Padres game that lasted 17 innings.
If that split happens, then i hope VS isn't blacked out.
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 09:53 PM man it's a struggle for Colon to get this game to the 6th inning by 7:00...
finally...

Ducksforcup 05-01-2007, 10:27 PM Wait so they're gonna split the screen in half?

In the mean time, they are wasting time by having this meaningless discussion... :biglaugh:
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 10:28 PM Just think of it as like an xbox game or something. One player is playing baseball, the other is playing hockey.
Ducksforcup 05-01-2007, 10:29 PM Apparantly, Bieksa is IN and this is confirmed. I for one am glad. :)
162 games a season, you'd think missing one wouldn't be such a big deal.
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 10:31 PM going to the bottom of the 8th...
Versus officially blacked out.
Ducksforcup 05-01-2007, 10:31 PM Jeez, I just saw that hit by Kunitz again. Man, was that a crunch. Kind of shocked a penalty wasn't called to be honest.

Smart my @ss. That's F'ing LAME to the Nth degree. I've got a blacked out Versus and a blacked out FSNW since they don't show Angels games down here.
If you can't show the start of the game don't show it at all and I'll happily watch it on Versus.
soya_sauce_chicken 05-01-2007, 10:37 PM ok fellas i'll be driving home shortly to watch the game..
Let's GO DUCKS!!
Belanger25 05-01-2007, 10:37 PM I had to laugh my ass off though. I was searching Channels.
I found the Dodgers the Angels and Charlie's Angels. Got to love having so many teams in the LA/Anaheim area.
TeMoZ 05-01-2007, 10:37 PM Okay well I guess FSN didn't do what they said they were going to do.
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 10:37 PM this is frustrating...whats the deal FSN??

McDonald19 05-01-2007, 10:38 PM at this rate were going to miss at least the first 10 minutes of the game.
this is frustrating...whats the deal FSN??
There's a replay on FSNPT at 1am for what ever that's worth.

Belanger25 05-01-2007, 10:41 PM Here we go! Although I'd rather still have the audio of Jose Mota.
Is it just me or does the Video suck hard core! Both teams jerseys look like hell.
SamitheGreat 05-01-2007, 10:41 PM Nice double play by the Angels. This is the only game I have seen this year... Angels game i mean.
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 10:43 PM oh....weak....Vlad with a trainer...wow we need to see that.
No one is at the Angels game anyway - just go full screen hockey!

TeMoZ 05-01-2007, 10:44 PM Omfg!!!
They Switch On A Rush!!!!!
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 10:44 PM this is stupid...switching back and forth.
FSN is in a panic trying to please everyone...honestly just finish the baseball game, the going back and forth is annoying.

snarktacular 05-01-2007, 10:46 PM But hockey and baseball are so similar. "Frankie Rodriguez with the save!"
Ha, May and Thornton doubleteam Mitchell.

I don't know but this is making me laugh. Switch for a pitch, switch back.

braincramp 05-01-2007, 10:46 PM An excellent demonstration of how incredibly boring baseball is.
190Octane 05-01-2007, 10:46 PM This is a freaking joke.

McDonald19 05-01-2007, 10:48 PM that Canuck went down pretty easily...
SamitheGreat 05-01-2007, 10:48 PM Thank you Tony Pena. That pitcher must hate hockey. Horrible throw to second.
190Octane 05-01-2007, 10:48 PM That penalty was a freaking joke also.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 10:48 PM An excellent demonstration of how incredibly boring baseball is.
Eh. People say the same thing about hockey.
BraveSirRobin 05-01-2007, 10:48 PM This is BS. IT'S THE ****ING PLAYOFFS! Baseball can miss a game or two for it.
Damn, offensive zone penalty by Perry.
Shockingly, the Canucks don't decline it.
Snap Wilson 05-01-2007, 10:48 PM Okay, enough with the dumb penalties.
Pronger4Pope 05-01-2007, 10:48 PM Wow that feed is crappy
190Octane 05-01-2007, 10:49 PM I'm so tired of FSN.
Not only could they not pick up the Vs. HD feed or the CBC HD feed but they're pulling the back and forth crap with the baseball game. FSN is a freaking joke.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 10:49 PM Perry penalized for hitting a player. It's a penalty, but I love how he hit the guy into Luongo. "They bumped our goalie!"
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 10:50 PM yess back to the Angels!
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 10:50 PM Frankie better mow em down. Yes! 1 out.
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 10:51 PM 2 outs to go...
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 10:52 PM That was a strike!! So what if it was a couple feet outside.
BraveSirRobin 05-01-2007, 10:52 PM Come on Frankie, get this over with quick!
braincramp 05-01-2007, 10:52 PM 2 outs to go...
And some commercials . . .
DucksWon'07 05-01-2007, 10:52 PM I hope the angels lose the rest of their games, this is unforgivable.
Big ups to Sammy who is in the final 3 for the Selke!!!
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 10:52 PM 2 out. Let's go Frankie.
Pronger4Pope 05-01-2007, 10:53 PM Why the hell do they stay on the baseball feed for so long? They show the ducks for like 30 seconds, then back to baseball for 5 minutes
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 10:53 PM 1 more out!!
Belanger25 05-01-2007, 10:53 PM 1 Out left! Time to see a little Ducks split screen. Must be at TV Timeout.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 10:53 PM Strike 1.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 10:54 PM 1 Out left! Time to see a little Ducks split screen. Must be at TV Timeout.
Canucks radio just got back from commercial...so yeah.
Two strikes...one strike to go!
BraveSirRobin 05-01-2007, 10:54 PM 1-2 with two outs. Just blow this by him Frankie.
ktulu98 05-01-2007, 10:55 PM oh man, game isn't on sopcast..this sucks
Belanger25 05-01-2007, 10:56 PM Well we missed 8 Minutes.
God this feed sucks so bad.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 10:56 PM I've never been so happy for an Angels win!! Officially back to Ducks with 11:56 left in the first. 0-0.
BraveSirRobin 05-01-2007, 10:56 PM And now it's over. Hockey time. :handclap:
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 10:56 PM Well we missed 8 Minutes.
God this feed sucks so bad.
Yeah, pretty blurry eh?
190Octane 05-01-2007, 10:57 PM Yeah, pretty blurry eh?
Looks like a KDOC feed.
190Octane 05-01-2007, 10:59 PM Bieksa dove... a one handed chop into your shins should not trip you.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:01 PM The teams are going crazy with the line matchups. Carlyle makes changes on the fly, right after faceoffs to get Pahlsson against the Sedins, and the Canucks change to get the Sedins away from Pahlsson.
I expect a goal because of the chaos from one of these changes.
TeMoZ 05-01-2007, 11:01 PM Is it me or does Ahlers and Hayward seem more retarded than normal?
190Octane 05-01-2007, 11:03 PM The teams are going crazy with the line matchups. Carlyle makes changes on the fly, right after faceoffs to get Pahlsson against the Sedins, and the Canucks change to get the Sedins away from Pahlsson.
I expect a goal because of the chaos from one of these changes.
This is why Pahlsson deserves the Selke.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:04 PM Ducks PP looks dangerous.
190Octane 05-01-2007, 11:04 PM This TV feed is horrible.
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 11:04 PM powerplay looks pretty good...Pronger was all set up for a great chance but fanned on it.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:05 PM ****. Naslund scores.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:05 PM This is why Pahlsson deserves the Selke.
It is a funny coincidence that the day Pahlsson's nomination is announced Vigneault now adjusts his changes while at home to get the Sedins away from Pahlsson.
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 11:06 PM 3 on 1 down low?
how did that happen...if Naslund didn't get the rebound the other forward would have.
Niedermayer still with the turnovers. Something just ain't right with him.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:07 PM Funny that on two of the few rebounds Giguere have given up have gone almost straight to Naslund.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:08 PM Pronger should just keep drilling those point shots into the forwards' ankles. That will discourage them from blocking shots.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:08 PM OK Hughson, Anaheim rarely plays its 4th line and they're playing more tonight. We get it already.
190Octane 05-01-2007, 11:09 PM I don't think any of the Canucks are stupid enough to throw down with Thornton.
Pronger4Pope 05-01-2007, 11:11 PM looks like everyone on the ducks has that flu
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:12 PM Compared to the last game, this game has been amazingly entertaining so far.
Dear Ducks defense. Please cut down on turnovers. Thanks.
Spiral 05-01-2007, 11:12 PM I'm watching on Versus. Surprise it was on and not blacked out.
Oh, Go Ducks!!!
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 11:16 PM ha...they finally called one of those Sedin picks...
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:17 PM I have to say, those Sedins are amazing with the timing on those picks. Good thing it was called.
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 11:20 PM terrible powerplay.
McDonald19 05-01-2007, 11:20 PM ok Perry goes out of his way to avoid contact with Luongo...and Mitchell gets a free shot in on Perry after the whistle because???
190Octane 05-01-2007, 11:23 PM ok Perry goes out of his way to avoid contact with Luongo...and Mitchell gets a free shot in on Perry after the whistle because???
Mitchell thinks he's tough.
If the team plays like this tonight they're going to give Vancouver the game.
banana phone 05-01-2007, 11:23 PM ok Perry goes out of his way to avoid contact with Luongo...and Mitchell gets a free shot in on Perry after the whistle because???
most likely for the incident earlier in the period.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:23 PM Because he's a dirty player who runs goalies!
Pretty good period. I'd say it was slightly in the Canucks favor, but pretty much was even.
Canucks have had a lot more traffic in front of Giguere tonight. About time they figure that out.
great_one98 05-01-2007, 11:25 PM Well, Perry could've all together avoided Luongo and not gone through the crease. The little extra shove was justified.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:26 PM I don't think the shove was justified for that play, but it could be justified for the earlier crosscheck of the Canucks defenseman into Luongo.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:27 PM Hrudey is living in the 90s. The Anaheim Might Ducks? Actually that's not even the true name of the team then. He's living in some sort of alternate, combinatorial universe.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:30 PM Kelly Hrudey wore that bandana around his head too tight in his playing days. He had no circluation to his brain and it died a slow painful death.
I love that Carl's Jr. girl.
Jerky Leclerc 05-01-2007, 11:30 PM The Ducks look lethargic. Aren't we supposed to be a speed team? It looks like the guys are stuck in first gear.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:33 PM The Ducks look lethargic. Aren't we supposed to be a speed team? It looks like the guys are stuck in first gear.
This whole series actually. I wonder if the flu bug is going through the locker room.
Pronger4Pope 05-01-2007, 11:34 PM "Perry... loses the handle"
how many times a game do I have to hear that?
Spanky McQuack 05-01-2007, 11:34 PM Ducks need to start playin desperately
Perry is by far and away our best skater right now...with the talent we have on this team...that's not necessarily a good thing
Dirk316 05-01-2007, 11:35 PM for some reaon the Duck need to face some adversity to pump them up like going down a goal. They need to pick up the physical game as well. The 4th line showed up in period 1 so far.
Snap Wilson 05-01-2007, 11:36 PM That first period was a bowl of Alpo. And F Jim Hughson.
Spanky McQuack 05-01-2007, 11:37 PM for some reaon the Duck need to face some adversity to pump them up like going down a goal. They need to pick up the physical game as well. The 4th line showed up in period 1 so far.
agreed
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:39 PM Perry with an actually effective use of the toe drag there.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:39 PM Hitting is one of our biggest advantages over the Canucks. I don't understand why we don't do it more often. Isn't that the point of the guys Burke brings in?
Justarrived 05-01-2007, 11:40 PM Count on the Ducks to do it the hard way or make us crazy trying to figure out how they will come out period by period.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:40 PM Perry with an actually effective use of the toe drag there.
Y'know I don't know what to say to Perry about the toe drag. He kind of does it too much, but he's good at it and could be absolutely lethal if he improves his decision on when to use it.
Spanky McQuack 05-01-2007, 11:42 PM a hell of a good start to this period
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:43 PM Shannon's speed negates the icing, allowing some good offensive zone pressure.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:45 PM Some good o zone pressure resulting in a Ducks PP. Wow, Pahlsson didn't miss by much. Toe save.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:46 PM So our first powerplay looked awesome, our second powerplay looked putrid. Will this one look tepid?
190Octane 05-01-2007, 11:46 PM The power play looks like ****.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:47 PM Big shorthanded save by Jigger. Ducks PP has looked terrible so far...Canucks with the better of the chances.
Snap Wilson 05-01-2007, 11:48 PM Way to bleed, Teemu!
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:48 PM 5-3 PP. Hopefully Teemu's okay. We should start calling Teemu "Leatherface".
Does anybody else's feed go black for a millisecond every once in awhile?
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:48 PM Ha. "Well Selanne is bleeding. He's done a lot of that this series."
Snap Wilson 05-01-2007, 11:50 PM Oh, Jesus. We're too stupid to win today's game.
190Octane 05-01-2007, 11:50 PM 5-3 PP. Hopefully Teemu's okay. We should start calling Teemu "Leatherface".
Does anybody else's feed go black for a millisecond every once in awhile?
Yup, it's too much to ask for FSN to have their **** together.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:50 PM Jesus. Too many men. Way to negate a double minor with a dumb ass penalty.
What the hell are they waiting for on the damned 5-3 PP? Luongo to vacate the net?
And now they take an absolutely retarded penalty on the 5-4 PP. They really, really want to lose this one.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:51 PM 5-3 PP. Hopefully Teemu's okay. We should start calling Teemu "Leatherface".
Does anybody else's feed go black for a millisecond every once in awhile?
No we should call him Scarface. It opens a world of quote opportunities. "Say hello to my little friend." "Make way for the bad guy"
Spiral 05-01-2007, 11:53 PM So frustrating... C'mon Ducks!
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:53 PM Man. Getzlaf was about 2 inches from intercepting that pass and in on a breakaway.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:54 PM No we should call him Scarface. It opens a world of quote opportunities. "Say hello to my little friend." "Make way for the bad guy"
Unfortunately, I've never seen Scarface.
190Octane 05-01-2007, 11:55 PM This is frustrating.
lux_interior 05-01-2007, 11:55 PM Jesus. What a joke of a tripping call.
190Octane 05-01-2007, 11:55 PM I hope Sedin is wearing a freaking speedo under his gear.
Dirk316 05-01-2007, 11:56 PM wow :biglaugh:
Just forfeit, Carlyle. Just forfeit.
Spanky McQuack 05-01-2007, 11:57 PM wow a non trip on rob but then a trip called on scott...wow
Snap Wilson 05-01-2007, 11:57 PM He may as well. We're playing like crap.
snarktacular 05-01-2007, 11:58 PM Unfortunately, I've never seen Scarface.
I haven't either, but I know a few quotes from general knowledge and from GTA Vice City.
Niedermayer breaks up another 2 on 1, then "trips" a Canuck. He kind of did, but it was no more of a trip than Penner and Bieksa. The refs probably felt Vancouver needed a call.
Justarrived 05-01-2007, 11:58 PM Nothing like an intermittent black screen to bring mystery to your hockey game.
Hockey Duckie 05-01-2007, 11:58 PM After seeing Robbie get "handled" down on a one on three with no call and then seeing a Sedin go down on a stick, it does make ya wonder.
Pronger4Pope 05-01-2007, 11:59 PM A healthy Scott Niedermayer does not hesitate to pinch for the loose puck in that 4 on 4 situation.
He's gotta be sick or injured
190Octane 05-02-2007, 12:02 AM The black screen is real annoying.
If the Canucks put another one up on the board, I think we're done for the night. Hopefully this PP will prove me wrong.
190Octane 05-02-2007, 12:03 AM Wah Morrison.
lux_interior 05-02-2007, 12:03 AM Scarface almost puts one in.
190Octane 05-02-2007, 12:05 AM Penner is playing horribly.
lux_interior 05-02-2007, 12:07 AM I think Perry almost set a modern day NHL record for longest shift.
lux_interior 05-02-2007, 12:08 AM ****. 5 hole goal by Hansen. 2-0 Canucks.
Edit: Sorry Morrison.
Wow. Just wow. That was bad.
Snap Wilson 05-02-2007, 12:08 AM That's it. Switching to the Warriors game.
190Octane 05-02-2007, 12:08 AM Now I know how other teams felt when playing the Ducks in '03. Watching a crap team ride a hot goaltender and watching them just sit back in a shell around the goalie.
Now I know how other teams felt when playing the Ducks in '03. Watching a crap team ride a hot goaltender and watching them just sit back in a shell around the goalie.
They're not a crap team, they're playing us pretty even.
snarktacular 05-02-2007, 12:09 AM Somebody tell Morrison and Naslund that it isn't 1998 anymore.
lux_interior 05-02-2007, 12:10 AM I'll take Thornton off for Sopel, if that happens.
Spanky McQuack 05-02-2007, 12:10 AM someone let me know when the Ducks are playing again
I have no idea where they are
Anaheim's looking like the crap team right now...
190Octane 05-02-2007, 12:11 AM They're not a crap team, they're playing us pretty even.
That is what's frustrating me. Do you really think their defense and forwards are better than the '03 team? Their d-men probably are because Sauer was horrible and Vishnevski wasn't that great but their forwards aren't much better, that's for damn sure.
Jerky Leclerc 05-02-2007, 12:15 AM Giguere is asked to keep us in this game. If not for him, this game would have been over after the first. Moen looked completely lost on that second goal. HOrrible play by the Ducks.
soya_sauce_chicken 05-02-2007, 12:16 AM ****
anaheim is playing like crap
turn overs everywhere
only person wanting to play is Getz
Randall Graves* 05-02-2007, 12:17 AM Looks like these guys are only content with winning home ice back, our stars are not showing up tonight, especially the top line, totally invisible.
lux_interior 05-02-2007, 12:17 AM Well, Perry has been pretty good too.
190Octane 05-02-2007, 12:17 AM They better figure out what the hell is wrong and fix it because this is frustrating to watch.
McDonald19 05-02-2007, 12:18 AM That is what's frustrating me. Do you really think their defense and forwards are better than the '03 team? Their d-men probably are because Sauer was horrible and Vishnevski wasn't that great but their forwards aren't much better, that's for damn sure.
It's close but the 07 team is better because of the Getzlaf line.
Kariya-Oates-Sykora = Kunitz-McDonald-Selanne
Penner-Getzlaf-Perry > Leclerc-Rucchin-Niedermayer
Moen-Pahlsson-Niedermayer >= Chistov-Pahlsson-Thomas
Byslma/Kjellberg-Chouinard-Krog >= May-Shannon-Thornton
(May-Marchant-Thornton > Bylsma/Kjellberg-Chouinard-Krog)
Ducksforcup 05-02-2007, 12:18 AM They better figure out what the hell is wrong and fix it because this is frustrating to watch.
It is frustrating, but I don't think that the Ducks are playing badly. That is what is maddening.
Snap Wilson 05-02-2007, 12:19 AM Their d-men probably are because Sauer was horrible and Vishnevski wasn't that great
And they didn't have Niedermayer or Pronger? Makes a difference, that, no?
Snap Wilson 05-02-2007, 12:20 AM It is frustrating, but I don't think that the Ducks are playing badly. That is what is maddening.
What team are you watching? They're passive as heck. This isn't playoff hockey. Vancouver isn't having to work for anything.
Ducksforcup 05-02-2007, 12:22 AM Well, I believe! Go Ducks Go!
Dirk316 05-02-2007, 12:22 AM The 4th line is only line playing with passion. Neids have been worse then Dipenta and Huskins. The whole team seems content with going back to Anaheim. Worst game of the year by Anaheim.
Jerky Leclerc 05-02-2007, 12:22 AM The Canucks are bending us over and having a smoke. It is embarrassing.
Justarrived 05-02-2007, 12:27 AM Jiggy must be thinking, "give me something guys I'm working my ^%$ off here" Miracle third on the way... don't hold your breath.
cmcdmania 05-02-2007, 12:27 AM Well, IMO, this game is more interesting than game 3. I believe that we can come back.
LETS GO DUCKS!!
Dirk316 05-02-2007, 12:28 AM We could have used Shane O'Brien here
Hockey Duckie 05-02-2007, 12:28 AM Maybe the team is just thinking too much? I really don't know why nothing is really connecting (aside from very good defense by the Canucks).
Lyons71 05-02-2007, 12:32 AM The canucks are working the Ducks.
Blocking EVERY SHOT it seems.
Vancouver is also creating their own luck. They should be up 2-0.
snarktacular 05-02-2007, 12:32 AM Well the Canucks are doing a good job of blocking things. Shots and passes. It's good play by them and some lack of movement on our part.
There's just something maddening about playing a good shotblocking team. Like Edmonton last year.
McDonald19 05-02-2007, 12:32 AM Pahlsson grade A scoring chance...fans on it.
snarktacular 05-02-2007, 12:34 AM Is there a reason we keep taking our own guys out? Moen takes out Niedermayer on the Morrison goal, someone took out Pahlsson last shift, and Perry and Getzlaf just collided.
190Octane 05-02-2007, 12:35 AM It's close but the 07 team is better because of the Getzlaf line.
Kariya-Oates-Sykora = Kunitz-McDonald-Selanne
Penner-Getzlaf-Perry > Leclerc-Rucchin-Niedermayer
Moen-Pahlsson-Niedermayer >= Chistov-Pahlsson-Thomas
Byslma/Kjellberg-Chouinard-Krog >= May-Shannon-Thornton
(May-Marchant-Thornton > Bylsma/Kjellberg-Chouinard-Krog)
I'm comparing Vancouver to the '03 team.
The Ducks '07 team is undoubtedly better than the Ducks '03 team.
190Octane 05-02-2007, 12:36 AM There we go.
cmcdmania 05-02-2007, 12:37 AM 2-1 Pronger!!
McDonald19 05-02-2007, 12:37 AM 2-1
Pronger shot gets through the traffic.
Hockey Duckie 05-02-2007, 12:37 AM Woooooooooowhooooooooooooo!!!! Go Pronger!!!! Long shot! Within one more goal!
snarktacular 05-02-2007, 12:37 AM Ducks score with a frankenline of May-Perry-Pahlsson.
That is what's frustrating me. Do you really think their defense and forwards are better than the '03 team? Their d-men probably are because Sauer was horrible and Vishnevski wasn't that great but their forwards aren't much better, that's for damn sure.
Our '03 forwards weren't that great. Heck, our "star" was easily shut down for two months. Our most consistently good line in the playoffs was Leclerc-Rooch-Nieds ... and no one's going to confuse that with a real scoring line.
They're a 100 point team and a division winner, and finished barely behind us in the standings.
McDonald19 05-02-2007, 12:38 AM I'm comparing Vancouver to the '03 team.
The Ducks '07 team is undoubtedly better than the Ducks '03 team.
ah i see.
Snap Wilson 05-02-2007, 12:39 AM Way to go, Biff.
snarktacular 05-02-2007, 12:39 AM Giguere's been giving a lot of rebounds today.
snarktacular 05-02-2007, 12:41 AM Can we get some signs of life from our first line? The grinders made it a one goal game, but I think Selanne needs to wake up.
190Octane 05-02-2007, 12:42 AM Our '03 forwards weren't that great. Heck, our "star" was easily shut down for two months. Our most consistently good line in the playoffs was Leclerc-Rooch-Nieds ... and no one's going to confuse that with a real scoring line.
They're a 100 point team and a division winner, and finished barely behind us in the standings.
Do you really think Morrison is much better than Rooch used to be? Nieds is definitely better than Cowan who was playing with Naslund and Morrison.
They have more talent but I don't think it's that much more. Maybe I'm just pissed and frustrated but that's how I currently feel.
Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 05-02-2007, 12:45 AM I'm comparing Vancouver to the '03 team.
The Ducks '07 team is undoubtedly better than the Ducks '03 team.
Ah, that makes much more sense. And, I see it. One scoring line that does little, a secondary scoring/kinda shutdown line that is the best line, and two depth lines that, well, don't screw up too bad. Vancouver's defense is better, I'd say, although, like our defense then, they aren't great contributors. And then there's the goaltending factor, although Luongo has been so-so this series(up to this game), while Giguere was amazing, save for one game, at this point.
Well, we got a game again. Hopefully the boys can tie this baby up and maybe steal this one.
lux_interior 05-02-2007, 12:46 AM Probably. Ducks in this game despite being outplayed.
190Octane 05-02-2007, 12:46 AM Oooo ooo they're touching the goalie.
Do you really think Morrison is much better than Rooch used to be? Nieds is definitely better than Cowan who was playing with Naslund and Morrison.
They have more talent but I don't think it's that much more. Maybe I'm just pissed and frustrated but that's how I currently feel.
I think you overrate our '03 team. Our forwards were below average at best ... we only scored BARELY enough to win games.
Let me put it this way ... I highly doubt our '03 team, put in Vancouver's place, would have won their division as the Canucks did. For chrissakes, look at the way our '03 team was consistently dominated in the playoffs by real contenders.
snarktacular 05-02-2007, 12:47 AM Vancouver's bumping our goalie! Rabble rabble!
McDonald19 05-02-2007, 12:47 AM Ducks powerplay coming up...
lux_interior 05-02-2007, 12:47 AM Wow. Big play by Getz drawing a penalty there. If we ever need a PP goal, this is it.
190Octane 05-02-2007, 12:47 AM Way to make up for it Getzy, now capitalize on the PP boys.
Hockey Duckie 05-02-2007, 12:48 AM Getz gets his retribution for his penalty by taking it all on his own and gets a penalty call against the Canucks. A PP opportunity! Go Ducks, Go!
snarktacular 05-02-2007, 12:48 AM OK, powerplay time. We've been 0 for 6 so far. Down one goal, having killed off Vancouver's last penalty and hopefully getting some momentum.
The time is now.
Spankatola Jamnuts 05-02-2007, 12:50 AM Man. This series is bloody awful.
Snap Wilson 05-02-2007, 12:51 AM Vancouver's bumping our goalie! Rabble rabble!
LOL.
snarktacular 05-02-2007, 12:51 AM Oh man, that was a huge save by Luongo.
Our powerplay doesn't look good. There's just no movement. Players are just standing around.
McDonald19 05-02-2007, 12:51 AM powerplay looked dangerous...but no goal...
Someone tripped over the extension cord from Vancouver to the FSN office in Los Angeles.
