WWWWWH? Trivia Question: Which 6th Round Pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft is now playing for the Anaheim Ducks?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another BIG GAME TODAY! The Canucks on Friday did their job and secured the split in a 2-1 OT thriller. Now, the advantage of home ice goes to the 'Nucks as the next two games are on their home turf. Anaheim is looking for at least a split to regain home ice advantage, while Vancouver is looking for the intangibles of GM Place to propel them to victory. Who will come out on the summit of the mountain in this contest? We will find out TONIGHT!!! :) :yo: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ducks alter course on playoff travel (Written by Dan Wood).
The Ducks planned to gather for a late-morning practice at Anaheim Ice today before boarding a charter flight to Vancouver in preparation for Sunday's third game of their Western Conference semifinal playoff series against the Canucks.
The itinerary seemingly makes sense, but it wasn't always that way, for the Ducks as well as other playoff teams.
In reality, Carlyle held a meeting with veteran players before the playoffs to discuss how best to proceed.

Players to Watch
-Anaheim Ducks
http://www.cbc.ca/gfx/images/sports/photos/2007/04/19/may-brad070417getty.jpg
#24-Brad May: Brad May is coming off his three game suspension and could provide the physical presence that the Ducks need to help turn the tide. May, while not a huge threat offensively, has provided a solid veteran presence with key hits and grinding shifts. Against a team like Vancouver, this presence was missed. Will he be able to accomplish his goals?
-Vancouver Canucks
http://www.falsegods.ca/wp-content/uploads/2007/01/mitchell_kesler_fg.jpg
#8-Willie Mitchell: Willie Mitchell has the reputation for being a hard nosed and generally tough player to play against, especially during the playoffs. Last game, he didn't disappoint. His veteran presence back on the blue line not only helped stymie the Duck's potent offense, but he also helped stabilize a blue line with key injuries to such important players as Sami Salo and Kevin Bieksa. Will he be able to continue his excellent, solid play?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that is it for me. Au revoir toujours! :) Hope y'all have a good one and a good sleep! :) See ya!
Hockey Duckie 04-29-2007, 04:49 AM Great GDT! I can't wait for the game and to see which Ducks team comes out. Will May make sure the tempo remains high if he's played? I hope so in that four lines can be rolled more often.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 05:05 AM Parros should be out.
Carlyle wasn't happy with him taking two penalties (even though they were weak calls, especially the penalty for checking).
May should be in.
MercenaryD 04-29-2007, 06:45 AM Come on Ducks!!! Bring your A-game plz just like after game 4 with the Wild!!!
Guessin Travis Moen for the trivia
They had better not get outplayed this game because that was a dissapointing showing in Game 2
Jerky Leclerc 04-29-2007, 10:21 AM If we take tonight, its going to put alot of pressure of the Canucks to win Game 4. IMO, the team that wins tonight will most likely win the series. Must I say it?
BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR!
:yo:
Peter Griffin 04-29-2007, 12:53 PM Good luck guys, should be another great game! I can't wait to hear the atmosphere at GM place, it's gonna be rockin'!:yo:
Bobby Ryan Getzlaf 04-29-2007, 01:12 PM Can't wait. Mayday returning could be huge for us. Hoperfully the offense comes out flying at GM Place tonight and chases Luongo out of the net again.
Pepper 04-29-2007, 02:05 PM Shawn Thornton for the trivia?
azsharkfan 04-29-2007, 02:07 PM Good Luck Ducks!
Your team is MOONS better than Vancouver and a test, like this one tonight, will be good for your guys. :yo:
Ducksforcup 04-29-2007, 03:05 PM Trivia: Kent Huskins
BING BING BING BING!!! :) :handclap: Very good Kimi! :) Good guesses everyone else! :)
For your prize, you get...
http://www.beachstore.com/images/A-8004.jpg COOL, INFLATABLE BOATS!!! :) :yo: :D :handclap:
And thanks for the kudos Hockie Duckie about the GDT! :) Always appreciated! :)
Spiral 04-29-2007, 03:49 PM GO DUCKS! Beat the 'Nucks!
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 03:55 PM Intermission of Sabres-Rangers, Hull and Ferraro talking about the Ducks. They say Carlyle wants physicality from his team tonight and they expect that the Ducks will bring it.
Phaneufed 04-29-2007, 04:33 PM Go Ducks! :handclap:
Spankatola Jamnuts 04-29-2007, 04:34 PM I just can't get myself to care about this game. I don't know what my problem is.
I just can't get myself to care about this game. I don't know what my problem is.
An opposing team with a good goalie, no firepower, and boring hockey.
Duckstudd269 04-29-2007, 05:00 PM I don't think Parros will be in this game. I think we will see 2 possible line combos.
1. Thorton-Shannon-May
2. One of the players recently called up-Shannon-May
Also do you think there is any possibility we could see this 4th line: Shannon-Hartigan-May? I'd like to see more playing time from our 4th line and maybe we wouldn't worry about that line as much when they're out there.
Edit: Did anyone else notice how crappy Penner has played lately? God I was actually hoping Shannon would take a shift with Getz and Perry last game.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 05:10 PM Edit: Did anyone else notice how crappy Penner has played lately? God I was actually hoping Shannon would take a shift with Getz and Perry last game.
Yes, he was invisible in game 2. Penner needs to step up.
Lyons71 04-29-2007, 05:53 PM Penner has been playing like a girl.
What ever happened to him getting the puck behind the net and running guys over? He can't be healthy.
Let's hope men show up tonight. I don't know how capable the Ducks are of coming back if they lose this game.
Let's also put all those empty net shots and posts in this time, ok boys?
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 05:59 PM Yeah, the whole team needs to step up in game 3.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 06:39 PM Go Ducks.
OntOilFan 04-29-2007, 06:41 PM The sight of GM Place makes my intestinal tract recoil and my gag reflex engage.
Go DUCKS!!!
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 06:59 PM The sight of GM Place makes my intestinal tract recoil and my gag reflex engage.
Go DUCKS!!!
Careful. You might start a peristaltic chain reaction
GO DUCKS!!!!
Theridion 04-29-2007, 07:08 PM wtb marchant and may
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:08 PM May is in.
Parros out.
4th line should be:
May-Shannon-Thornton
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:09 PM Looks like Salo is in, Bieksa out.
cmcdmania 04-29-2007, 08:10 PM That was cool how the crowd was singing the anthem.
GAME TIME!!!!
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:12 PM Canucks wearing their retro jerseys. An early goal would be yuge.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:14 PM Giguere with some big saves.
weather the early storm!!
Can anyone update me play-by-play? I know its too much to ask, but this is the closest I can get to watching the game. Thanks.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:15 PM Here's your play-by-play: It's still scoreless, but we're getting run out of the building. The puck hasn't left our zone.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:16 PM Ducks score!
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:16 PM Penner!
1-0
Here's your play-by-play: It's still scoreless, but we're getting run out of the building. The puck hasn't left our zone.
Sigh...
Edit: Penner scores, lol. I guess all the talk about him being invisible on game 2 doesn't really reflect so far.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:17 PM Luongo out of the net, knocked it to the corner right on Perry's stick, feed out front to Penner for an empty-netter.
kilted duck 04-29-2007, 08:17 PM :d Goal!!!
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:17 PM Can anyone update me play-by-play? I know its too much to ask, but this is the closest I can get to watching the game. Thanks.
You don't have TV, or can't link to the Canucks radio site?
Ducksforcup 04-29-2007, 08:18 PM Nice job to take advantage of a mistake! :yo:
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:18 PM An early goal would be yuge.
Yes!
You don't have TV, or can't link to the Canucks radio site?
I am in Guatemala with with dial up speed. Slow.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:19 PM Scott pinches and holds the puck in. His shot, from a dangerous area, deflected into the screen.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:19 PM I refer to those plays as "Osgoods."
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:20 PM I am in Guatemala with the with dial up speed. Slow.
I'll try to update on the play.
I love the commentary and the pre-game stuff on the CBC broadcast.
I'll try to update on the play.
Thanks Lux, you always do a great job.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:21 PM Ducks have their legs now.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:21 PM Shutdown line out against the twins. They keep the play in the offensive zone pretty well (Pahlsson that is).
Fourth line hockey out now for the ducks. Ducks hemmed in their zone. Jigger looks sick (good sick) so far.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:22 PM Jiggy stops a two-on-one.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:22 PM Jigger with another save on a right hand shot coming down the left wing. Always a tough save, and Jigger gave no rebound.
Commercial break.
Ducksforcup 04-29-2007, 08:22 PM Another bad turnover by Pronger, and then that was followed by a bad decision to try and poke-check. Bailed out by Jiggy.
He is not having the best series so far.
Too many turnovers.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:25 PM Krajcek just beats out Kunitz for an icing. Kunitz runs into Luongo. Crowd boos, but nothing develops.
Jigger looks sick (good sick)
Hahaha.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:26 PM Niedermayer, two minutes for funny hair.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:26 PM Delayed penalty on the Ducks. Scott Nieds on a hook.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:26 PM hooking penalty on Scott Niedermayer.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:27 PM Pronger clears the puck. Canucks dump it in. Got control in the offensive zone. Get a shot wide, then the Ducks clear.
hooking penalty on Scott Niedermayer.
He doesn't know how to take a penalty.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:28 PM ****. Another penalty on the Ducks. 5 on 3 for 37 sec. And it's Pronger with the penalty.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:28 PM Crap, going to be a five-on-three.
Pronger, two minutes for making Edmonton fans cry.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:29 PM these refs love calling hooking.
Pronger joins Scotty in the box.
5 on 3 for about a half minute.
cmcdmania 04-29-2007, 08:29 PM Nooooo.. 5-3 in Vancouver's favor. :(
Our 2 best d-man in the box... !@##$%
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:29 PM Canucks control face off, move it around...get a shot through a screen. Jigger makes the save, but no rebound...it's a theme.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:30 PM Ducks clear...and Cancks have trouble getting back in the zone. Ducks clear again, 5-3 over,
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:30 PM first penalty killed.
1:00 left on the other.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:31 PM Power play over. Ducks kill it off. You can hear a pin drop in the GM Place right now.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:33 PM PPG line on and cycling pretty well.
Power play over. Ducks kill it off. You can hear a pin drop in the GM Place right now.
Aaaa yes, I been there.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:34 PM Commercial.
Ducksforcup 04-29-2007, 08:35 PM Good cycling shift by the PPG line. Hopefully, that will get the Duck's offense going.
ktulu98 04-29-2007, 08:36 PM I just hope huskins will not make as many mistake as he did in game 2
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:37 PM Canucks were in the Ducks zone, but it was all along the boards. Nothing dangerous. A lot of centre ice play right now. Selanne passes instead of shoots, turns the puck over. May out with Selanne and McDonald.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:38 PM Nearly knocked it in our own net there.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:38 PM Jigger with another BIG save. Puck kinda pinballs around. It looked like an Anaheim d-man covered it in the crease, but apparently not...it was Jigger who covered it.
Another commercial.
Hockey Duckie 04-29-2007, 08:40 PM The fourth line nearly gave up a goal, but JS was there. Actually, a Ducks defenseman was followg the puck instead of his man. Which lead the Canuck forward to get behind the defense and a clear shot on goal, but JS came out aggressively as the puck hit his chest and gave up a rebound. Fortunately, the ducks recovered.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:41 PM Good cycling shift by the PPG line. Hopefully, that will get the Duck's offense going.
Yeah, not much offensive pressure sustained by the Ducks yet...but Jigs has been huge.
I got soapcast working, thanks everyone for the updates :)
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:42 PM Too many penalties.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:42 PM Another Canucks PP. Rob for slashing.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:42 PM another penalty on the Ducks.
Rob, slashing.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:42 PM wow that was weak...normal little slash to a players stick.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:43 PM That wasn't much of a slash. Shots 11-2 in favor on vcr.
Hockey Duckie 04-29-2007, 08:43 PM A chop on the lower part of the stick is slashing? I thought it was a chop on the hands/wrist was slashing?
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:44 PM 1 minute left on the PP. Vcr unable to maintain possession in the o zone yet. Beauchemin gets away with a trip and clears the puck.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:45 PM PP over, but Getz gets a DOG penalty for throwing the puck out of the rink from the d zone.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:45 PM Getzlaf to the box.
delay of game, puck over the glass.
4th penalty on the Ducks.
zero penalties on Vancouver so far.
Hockey Duckie 04-29-2007, 08:46 PM Another penalty to the Ducks... delay of game on Getzlaf for launching it over the glass in the defensive zone. He didn't have to rush it, but too much exuberance.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:46 PM ****.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:46 PM Naslund scores on the powerplay. Too many penalties.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:46 PM Giguere makes the initial save...rebound in the net.
1-1
2nd period will be the Ducks period for powerplays.
Hockey Duckie 04-29-2007, 08:47 PM The Canucks can thank Getzlaf. JS couldn't hold onto the puck and lays a fat, fat rebound.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:47 PM 2 of the 4 penalties were crap.
1st tiny hook the Canucks commit in the 2nd period will bring a Ducks powerplay.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:48 PM 1st period ends. We're outplayed again, but tie game.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:48 PM Giguere makes the initial save...rebound in the net.
1-1
2nd period will be the Ducks period for powerplays.
I wouldn't bet on that. We got a sizeable advantage in Game Two.
Ducksforcup 04-29-2007, 08:48 PM Man, we got killed that period. Only two shots on goal. Pathetic.
Here's hoping. :)
Hockey Duckie 04-29-2007, 08:49 PM Terrible ending to the period for the ducks. Too many penalties. How many can one team really survive?
Cocomero 04-29-2007, 08:49 PM That 3rd penalty call was extremely weak...
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 08:50 PM I am in Guatemala with with dial up speed. Slow.
Shouldn't dial up still be fast enough for radio though? Why not listen to Steve Caroll and Brent Severyn?
I turned it on just in time to see them score... does that mean I should leave?
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 08:51 PM I wouldn't bet on that. We got a sizeable advantage in Game Two.
usually it switches...but we'll see.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:52 PM That 3rd penalty call was extremely weak...
Rob Nieds slash?
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:53 PM usually it switches...but we'll see.
That's so stupid. A penalty should be a penalty. It shouldn't have anything to do with what's been called previously.
bayrider 04-29-2007, 08:54 PM The Pronger "hook" and the Niedermayer "slash" were the 2 weakest calls I've seen so far in the playoffs. These officials are a friggin joke.
Also, I'd like to say that Giguere is horrible. What's wrong with him? His upper body looks like it's made of concrete and he's stuck in that hunched over position all the time. In my opinion he's a better version of David Aebischer. The scariest is when the puck is down low near or behind the net and Giguere is forced to go side to side or cover the bottom portion of the net. He's slow to react and has problems moving side to side.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 08:55 PM Huh? Giguere has looked great so far.
Tref ******** up this one. Even the commentator said "and the penalty was ...eeee...". PP goal was a piece of s*** too. Of course canucks dominated firs period. Put the way they got the goal !!
Dirk316 04-29-2007, 08:55 PM refs as usual punish the tougher team with penalties its becoming comical but theres not much they can do.
Dural 04-29-2007, 08:55 PM Terrible ending to the period for the ducks. Too many penalties. How many can one team really survive?
Against the Nucks PP? A lot more than any team should be able to.
Jerky Leclerc 04-29-2007, 08:57 PM The Ducks have played pretty weak in front of Giguere. He has kept this game 1-1. Can someone check the birth certificate on these refs? Scotty and Getzlaf are pretty obvious but Pronger and Robbie's so called slash was horrendous.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 08:57 PM The Pronger "hook" and the Niedermayer "slash" were the 2 weakest calls I've seen so far in the playoffs. These officials are a friggin joke.

No, Giguere isn't horrible. He's great at positioning, remaining square to the shooter, and remaining "big" in net. You may not see those things as certifiable goalie skills, and you would be wrong.
bayrider 04-29-2007, 08:57 PM Huh? Giguere has looked great so far.
His style is awkward for a butterfly goalie and looks completely lost when the puck is down low in front of him or behind the net. He plays smaller than he really is.
Is Pronger tired ? He is not very agressive out there ? Hope he will recover for the second period.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:03 PM Is Pronger tired ? He is not very agressive out there ? Hope he will recover for the second period.
I'll reiterate. Neither Scotty nor Biff look like they're 100%.
bayrider 04-29-2007, 09:03 PM No, Giguere isn't horrible. He's great at positioning, remaining square to the shooter, and remaining "big" in net. You may not see those things as certifiable goalie skills, and you would be wrong.
Oh he was very square to the Naslund and Cowan goals in game 2. He played "big" on Cowan's goal in game 1 and his OT winner in game 2. Giguere hunches over and his legs are in too tight when he goes down when the should be spread out more in the butterfly.
He also has poor mobility when the puck is low in front and behind the net. His rebound control is what saves him. It's not so often he gives up a juicy rebound like on the 1st goal tonight.
His positioning is good for the most part, but he doesn't play big. His issues with mobility is what's killing him. Pay attention to it, sometimes he's all over his crease trying to get back into position. Sedin missed an empty net in game 1 and shot it into Giggy when he was 2 feet out of his crease swarming to get back into position. Luckily Sedin missed the open net. I think he went for the pass instead.
Justarrived 04-29-2007, 09:05 PM The guys better move their feet during the second period and if the ringing in their ears from Carlyle at intermission doesn't motivate them then we might see the traditional second periods that we were used to during the regular season.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:06 PM We got away with one there.
bayrider 04-29-2007, 09:07 PM Maybe it's the Montrealer in me being harsh on goalies, but I'm not sold on Giguere.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:07 PM Oh he was very square to the Naslund and Cowan goals in game 2. He played "big" on Cowan's goal in game 1 and his OT winner in game 2.
Yeah, and that game was the entirety of his career. Jump thread, dude. Go wax poetic about the prowess of Roberta.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:08 PM Maybe it's the Montrealer in me being harsh on goalies, but I'm not sold on Giguere.
Little late for that, he's been our starter for four and a half seasons now.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:10 PM Ref missed an offsides.
Hockey Duckie 04-29-2007, 09:10 PM It seems that Van is playing like it was OT again... just weathering the storm and waiting for a break in the storm to counter. Which means the Ducks need to make the most of things because the Canucks are simply waiting.
Spankatola Jamnuts 04-29-2007, 09:12 PM Be nice if Scotty and Pronger were playing tonight.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:13 PM At least Pronger's stick appears to be working.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 09:14 PM Luongo is sure giving up rebounds. Just gotta convert on one of them.
Hockey Duckie 04-29-2007, 09:15 PM Luongo is leaving rebounds, but no Ducks are in any position to take advantage... the shot needs to be released earlier and hope a rebound lands on a Ducks' stick.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 09:17 PM Yeah, that was a hold on Perry. It would be nice if the Ducks had showed up for tis game.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 09:18 PM 5 powerplays in a row for the Canucks.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:18 PM Not our period for penalties yet.
I know it was mostly instinctive, but seriously, dumb move by Perry.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:19 PM Scotty needs to start working the Grecian formula.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 09:20 PM that was overdue...
Naslund to the box.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 09:20 PM Thank you refs. Finally they get their ****ing arm up.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:20 PM And now we're backing off on the PK. Someone replaced our team with Foldger's Crystals.
Penalty on Vancouver, finally. Come on, boys.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:21 PM Wow. nice setup.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 09:22 PM Power play goal!!!!!!!!!!!! ON a rebound!!!
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:22 PM YES!
Kunitz?
kilted duck 04-29-2007, 09:22 PM 2-1 :d :d
Hockey Duckie 04-29-2007, 09:22 PM a PP goal. dirty. nice rebound and good go after the puck and put into the net!
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 09:23 PM 2-1
Ducks just kept whacking away at that rebound.
Beauchmein put it in.
good job by the ref not blowing the whistle before the puck was really covered.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 09:23 PM Beauchemin!!! 2-1 Ducks.
Phaneufed 04-29-2007, 09:23 PM BEAUCHEMIN!!!!!!!! :handclap: :handclap: :handclap: :handclap: :handclap: :handclap: :handclap:
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 09:24 PM Another PP coming up for the Ducks.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 09:24 PM another penalty on the Canucks...
Ducksforcup 04-29-2007, 09:24 PM KING BEAUCHEMIN!!! :yo: Third goal of the post-season for him! :handclap:
And another PP! :yo:
ktulu98 04-29-2007, 09:25 PM :handclap:
We have got another 6$ defensman - Beauchemain . How much cap room do we have ? ...
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:27 PM Let's put another one in. My stomach is doing flip-flops.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:28 PM We have got another 6$ defensman - Beauchemain . How much room do we have ? ...
Well, he's signed as long as Scotty, so we technically could have salary freed up.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:30 PM Pronger is skating slower than molasses in January. I mean, I know he's not Marian Gaborik or anything to begin with, but it's even worse.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 09:31 PM 2-2
bad shift there. Letting the Sedins cycle it.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 09:31 PM Damn. Daniel Sedin...2-2.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:31 PM ****.
Hockey Duckie 04-29-2007, 09:31 PM 2-2. Ducks didn't play defense. Vancouver doesn't give up. Sad... this is what the ducks are? no consistency. Do the ducks really want to win this?
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 09:31 PM Sedins tie it up. Dirty goal there, good on them.
Static 04-29-2007, 09:31 PM I hope OD isnt resigned...he hasnt been good.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:32 PM "Daniel has scored to tie the game three to two."
Wait, that's not the punch line...
"You're watching the game on Versus."
:thumbu:
ktulu98 04-29-2007, 09:33 PM :madfire:
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:35 PM Pronger talking with the team doctor about something. I toldja, he ain't well.
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 09:35 PM Hughson made sure to note that the checking line wasn't on the ice when the Sedins score. It was Teemu,Andy, and Moen.
Static 04-29-2007, 09:35 PM That went off the guys head. How is that a hand-pass?
ktulu98 04-29-2007, 09:38 PM shannon can only skate, nothing more...
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 09:39 PM Man there are juicy rebounds everywhere. We need to convert one.
cmcdmania 04-29-2007, 09:39 PM Penalties to both sides. Yay. It's not a Canuck advantage.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 09:39 PM Bad call by the refs...the Canuck already was going down.
there is no dive and no hook. Keep the game going.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 09:39 PM Is that a dive? Thank you.
Good pressure by the Ducks though. Actually Edler tripped over his own feet.
Hockey Duckie 04-29-2007, 09:39 PM Wow... a bogus penalty for Getz.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:40 PM We're not winning tonight. I don't know what team we're watching, but it isn't the Ducks.
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 09:40 PM Ha. I'm not sure that was either a hook or a dive.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 09:41 PM Bad call by the refs...the Canuck already was going down.
there is no dive and no hook. Keep the game going.
Yeah, what is up with these refs and phantom calls?
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 09:41 PM puck not covered...
ktulu98 04-29-2007, 09:42 PM how was that hooking?
someone?
cmcdmania 04-29-2007, 09:42 PM At least the period didn't end too badly score-wise.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 09:42 PM Ducks aren't playing very well.
2-2 after 2.
Play one good period and steal a win.
Jerky Leclerc 04-29-2007, 09:42 PM The game would be alot better if the refs took an extended lunch break in the third.
LET THEM PLAY!
LET THEM PLAY!
LET THEM PLAY!
ktulu98 04-29-2007, 09:44 PM i think we are playing quite good in 2nd period..
better than nucks
bayrider 04-29-2007, 09:45 PM Why are you guys even questioning the refs after seeing what happened in the 1st period and game #2?
Pronger and Niedermayer penalties were absolutely bogus phantom calls. Why are you surprised he called a penalty on Getzlaf because the Canucks player doesnt know how to skate?
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 09:46 PM What an awesome even strength game. And by awesome I mean 18 minutes of penalties in 40 minutes of game. Nearly half the game was played with special teams.
SopelFan 04-29-2007, 09:49 PM In the old NHL, one penalty at the most of all of them (Getzlaf's first penalty) would be called. And that would be debatable..
I think because of the soft refs, the ducks hold on some checking. There was not hard hiting. They had chanches but they didn`t hit.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 09:53 PM I think because of the soft refs, the ducks hold on some checking. There was not hard hiting. They had chanches but they didn`t hit.
We did a fine job hitting in Game Two without penalty problems. We're not hitting in this game. I don't know what we're doing, but it looks like a completely different team out there.
Jerky Leclerc 04-29-2007, 09:55 PM With all the penalty called, the Ducks haven't been able to forecheck and control the tempo of the game. The second period was controlled by the Nucks. The Sedins are dominating down low and Carlyle needs to do a better job with the matchups.
bayrider 04-29-2007, 09:58 PM We did a fine job hitting in Game Two without penalty problems. We're not hitting in this game. I don't know what we're doing, but it looks like a completely different team out there.
After the Parros penalty in the 1st period of game 2, which was a clean hit if I've ever seen one, I thought the physicality dropped a bit from Game 1.
Everything is a penalty now, including stick to stick contact. What a joke.
cmcdmania 04-29-2007, 10:00 PM Here's to a period with not so many penalties.
darn.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:00 PM This isn't even funny anymore...
refs, let them play hockey!!!
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:01 PM lol...5 on 3 coming up for 1:25
this game is a joke...
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:02 PM marginal marginal boarding call.
And the shhow continues. refs are trying realy hard to ******* up this game
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:03 PM 22 seconds left on the 5 on 3.
ktulu98 04-29-2007, 10:04 PM what the hell?
another penalty
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:04 PM lol...Getzlaf sold that one.
I'm not biased...this game is a joke...
cmcdmania 04-29-2007, 10:04 PM Penalty on Vcr for interference.
bayrider 04-29-2007, 10:05 PM Finally an interference penalty on the Cannots. The sisters have been running picks all series as if it's the NBA. Unfortunately it wasn't one of them to get caught.
Jigger has made good work. If we win this penalty madness game, Jigger will be our firs star. And PK line second one.
SopelFan 04-29-2007, 10:06 PM The refs are ruining the playoffs.
ktulu98 04-29-2007, 10:07 PM come one this wasn't penalty..
but im glad they called that
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:07 PM Geez, with McDonald19 and D98 both havin the same AndyMac avatar... that run of 5 posts got real confusing.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 10:07 PM Okay, that was just flat-out laziness.
Oh, Jesus. This is ridiculous.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:08 PM lol...and another one...marginal hold on Perry.
this isn't my NHL...I don't know what this garbage is.
Cocomero 04-29-2007, 10:08 PM Ok im a canuck fan and all....And even i find this ****ing stupid.
Spankatola Jamnuts 04-29-2007, 10:08 PM blaaaaaaaaaaah
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:08 PM Another penalty. At least this one is real. But still, how many freaking penalties can there be in one game?
cmcdmania 04-29-2007, 10:09 PM I thought the Ducks were supposed to be stepping up and getting physical. ?!?!
ktulu98 04-29-2007, 10:11 PM this is JOKE, this is not NHL hockey..
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:11 PM So with the way this game is going, if we want to win does that mean we need to draw up plays for shorthanded offense?
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:11 PM delay of game on Vancouver...
Go ducks PK. Good job boys. Penalty Shot, why there havent been a penalty shot. That would be full package.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:12 PM I thought the Ducks were supposed to be stepping up and getting physical. ?!?!
They can't...clean hits are roughing penalties now.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 10:12 PM I generally hate it when people complain about the officiating, but this has passed beyond the point of objectivity. The refs have destroyed this game.
SopelFan 04-29-2007, 10:12 PM I swear Burrows hit the boards before it went out... could be wrong.
I want some 5 on 5... :(
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 10:13 PM They can't...clean hits are roughing penalties now.
There isn't any hitting! None of the penalties are on hits. That would be better, honestly. It's all ticky-tack crap.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:13 PM Ducks score.
3-2
kilted duck 04-29-2007, 10:14 PM 3-2 Ducks
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 10:14 PM Power play goal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:14 PM There isn't any hitting! None of the penalties are on hits. That would be better, honestly. It's all ticky-tack crap.
Well Pahlsson's for boarding. But yeah.
Yay PP goal. Good thing our PP is better than Vancouvers.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:15 PM There isn't any hitting! None of the penalties are on hits. That would be better, honestly. It's all ticky-tack crap.
yeah the only one was the Pahlsson board...and also the Parros check last game.
Kunitz just destroyed Ohlund with a hit...and no call.
and the Canucks bench screams for a penalty.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 10:15 PM You know what would have been great? When Kunitz hit Ohlund, they should have called Ohlund for diving. Hey, he fell over!
Justice--- there is justice in this world, in justice we belive !!
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:17 PM wow that Kunitz hit was sweet.
left his feet a little though, surprised no charging penalty.
SopelFan 04-29-2007, 10:17 PM yeah the only one was the Pahlsson board...and also the Parros check last game.
Kunitz just destroyed Ohlund with a hit...and no call.

Kunitz left his feet, but I'm tired of PP hockey anyways.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 10:17 PM Justice--- there is justice in this world, in justice we belive !!
Not justice. Both teams got robbed out of this game.
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:18 PM Ha, Moen falls from Mitchell's hit partly because of the helmet from Kunitz's hit before.
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:19 PM Not justice. Both teams got robbed out of this game.
We were also robbed... of normal hockey.
cmcdmania 04-29-2007, 10:19 PM What if someone accidently ran into a ref? Or if the ref got in the way of a puck?
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:21 PM What if someone accidently ran into a ref? Or if the ref got in the way of a puck?
My favorite part of NHL... 97 I think it was, was they had refs in the game. After every stoppage of play I'd run the ref. The next year I tried it again... and got an "abuse of the official" penalty.
cmcdmania 04-29-2007, 10:22 PM Yay. Penalty to Sopel for hooking!!
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:22 PM first legit penalty in a while.
Perry hooked as he was in all alone...that was a must call.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 10:22 PM We were also robbed... of normal hockey.
Exactly my point.
Pwnasaurus 04-29-2007, 10:24 PM if we keep our skates moving and stay out of the box I like our chances
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:26 PM Ha. Pahlsson checks two Canucks, one falls and the other stumbles.
cmcdmania 04-29-2007, 10:28 PM Ha. Pahlsson checks two Canucks, one falls and the other stumbles.
Only 2? :(
Too bad there wasn't a domino effect.
bayrider 04-29-2007, 10:29 PM Pronger pretty much killed that PP all by himself when he opted to pass to Perry who was covered when he had a fairly clear lane to the net with players in front of Luongo.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 10:30 PM Let's go DUCKS!!!
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:30 PM Hughson calls the play "Held in by Krajicek" as the linesman is raising his hand like 3 feet away. Whatever, he's human.
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:31 PM How many players hit the ice on that shift? It looked like the midget hockey they show between periods.
lux_interior 04-29-2007, 10:32 PM 2:15 left. Let's go.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:32 PM 2 minutes to go.
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:34 PM empty net...McDonald hits the post.
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:34 PM Bah another post. This time on a truly empty net.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 10:35 PM Thump Thump Thump....
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:35 PM 5.8 to go.
war zone in front of Giguere's net.
man...McDonald could have finished this.
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:36 PM Geez that was an insane flurry. We had like 2 or 3 flubbed clears there.
kilted duck 04-29-2007, 10:36 PM Ducks WIN!!!!!
McDonald19 04-29-2007, 10:36 PM Ducks win.
Snap Wilson 04-29-2007, 10:36 PM Whew!
*thump*
snarktacular 04-29-2007, 10:38 PM Phew. Somehow I feel like we stole that one. Not necessarily from the Canucks...
Who says Giguere sucks?
Hockey Duckie 04-29-2007, 10:38 PM Phew! JS gets lucky as that last shot doesn't bounce in.
Could have been made easier if Andy would have made that empty netter!
ktulu98 04-29-2007, 10:39 PM 3 stars
1 - jiggy
2 - jiggy
3 - refs
Pwnasaurus 04-29-2007, 10:39 PM Phew Giguere was awesome great road win
Ducksforcup 04-29-2007, 10:39 PM PHFF!!! Ducks pull it out! :yo:
Man!
cmcdmania 04-29-2007, 10:42 PM I think that the last 5 or so seconds were the most interesting parts of the game. How sad.
If they only gave goals for killing power plays. Those last few minutes were so intense, I could barely watch.
