Ducks alter course on playoff travel (Written by Dan Wood).
The Ducks planned to gather for a late-morning practice at Anaheim Ice today before boarding a charter flight to Vancouver in preparation for Sunday's third game of their Western Conference semifinal playoff series against the Canucks.

The itinerary seemingly makes sense, but it wasn't always that way, for the Ducks as well as other playoff teams.

In reality, Carlyle held a meeting with veteran players before the playoffs to discuss how best to proceed.

Sedin missed an empty net in game 1 and shot it into Giggy when he was 2 feet out of his crease swarming to get back into position. Luckily Sedin missed the open net. I think he went for the pass instead.

The guys better move their feet during the second period and if the ringing in their ears from Carlyle at intermission doesn't motivate them then we might see the traditional second periods that we were used to during the regular season.

Pronger and Niedermayer penalties were absolutely bogus phantom calls. Why are you surprised he called a penalty on Getzlaf because the Canucks player doesnt know how to skate?

What an awesome even strength game. And by awesome I mean 18 minutes of penalties in 40 minutes of game. Nearly half the game was played with special teams.

In the old NHL, one penalty at the most of all of them (Getzlaf's first penalty) would be called. And that would be debatable..

My favorite part of NHL... 97 I think it was, was they had refs in the game. After every stoppage of play I'd run the ref. The next year I tried it again... and got an "abuse of the official" penalty.

I think that the last 5 or so seconds were the most interesting parts of the game. How sad.

If they only gave goals for killing power plays. Those last few minutes were so intense, I could barely watch.
