That and CBC would be pissed if they got screwed out of another Saturday night with out an Eastern Canadian team playing. Sarge18 04-24-2007, 01:32 AM I say about the same as the first round. 14,000+ for game 1 because of no discount tickets this time and maybe a sellout on Saturday, with a lot of Sens fans making the trip and filling those pesky $95 seats behind the goals. If not more than $10, I'm guessing we'll have a sellout late in this series. I mean, c'mon, three-quarters of our fan base just attended the last couple of games. :sarcasm I bet less than 15 people on this board plan on attending a game. Finals are coming up so I'm sure most of us will (or should) be studying our ***** off. EDIT: So we can say ass but not in the plural tense? The_Team_Nurse 04-24-2007, 04:39 PM That's like $160 canadian... :yashin: haha... Our exchange rate isn't that bad. Plus, even if it did work out to $160 is still a lot cheeper than you'd pay for good seats at SBP. I payed over $100 a ticket for round 1 to sit in the third bowl. It might actually be cheeper for Sens fans to get a car load of people to split the gass money and drive down to Jersey to see the Sens and Devs play than to pay for a ticket to see the Sens play at home! I am not talking about most on this board, but we have alot of cheap fans who don't like to part with their money, but then they complain when the media rips on Devils attendance. I would be a rich man if I got a dollar for every Devils fan that has told me one of these lines the last few weeks: 1. "No, I'm not buying tix for the first round, I am going to wait until a later round". 2. "I would go in a heartbeat but I'm like short on cash right now." 3. "I just don't have the funds for the first few rounds, $45 is a alot of cash Bro." 4. "I'm not paying $12 to park at that mess of a lot." 5. "I'm saving my money for tickets in Newark next season." MoonDragn 04-24-2007, 05:06 PM The exchange rate was almost that bad 10 years ago though. I dated a gal from Saskatchewan back then and flew up to see her a bunch of times. I remember getting alot of canadian cash for my US cash. Incidentally I still have 40 bucks canadian left in my wallet which has now gone up in value since then LOL. My friends and I are thinking of doing it (having come down in the 2003 ECF for game 4...wonderful experience, as everyone was pretty friendly). Game 2 might be too early in terms of planning. It sure is for me and my friends. bense27 04-24-2007, 07:12 PM 100,000 NH-DEVILS-FAN 04-24-2007, 07:26 PM Found out today that I may be closer than the four and a half hours away for game 2, and would love to go to the game. If i get there early enough would i be able to find a single ticket, from the box office or someone outside selling them? I don't want to buy them now due to the fact I don't know if i am going to be the 90 mins away that i will be. Thanks DevFan-RU- 04-24-2007, 07:28 PM I am not talking about most on this board, but we have alot of cheap fans who don't like to part with their money, but then they complain when the media rips on Devils attendance. All sound reasons. A good majority of Devils fans these days are kids in college and the whatnot. People who dont have easy access to money or transportation. Hence ticket prices + parking lot + no mass transit + traffic = Less ticket sales. I don't want to buy them now due to the fact I don't know if i am going to be the 90 mins away that i will be. Thanks It's tough to say since the game on Sat will likely sellout. A lot more people start showing up after the first round and Ottawa will attract a lot more of their own fans than Tampa Bay. How early can you get there? You can call ahead to the box-office to see if any tickets are still available; your chances will improve if you can get there in the earlier in the day. There is a chance you could scalp tickets before the game. I went to every home game in the first round and even though we arrived after the first period had started all three times (F@#$% early start times) I always saw at least one guy near the front of the arena selling tickets. I think there's a real chance you could buy a single ticket the day of the game, but it's far from a sure thing. You should only go if you're willing to risk the chance that you might drive to the arena and end up not scoring a ticket. That, I'm guessing, would really suck. The Devils haven't sold out a game yet, but a Saturday night in the second round just might sell out. If it does sell out, the cheap seats will go first and the $95 ones will be the last to go. If you can only afford the cheaper ones then I wouldn't make the drive. But if price is no object, I would imagine that even if there is a sellout you could find some people selling tickets outside. Quite a few of the crowds the Devils have had this year and 2 of the Tampa 1st round games would be sellouts in the new arena next year. it is kind of bad to rely on opposing fans to help sellout the arena. No games would sell out if it wasn't for fans of other teams going. Because, outside of Canada and *maybe* a few US markets, the league is in trouble. No one's talking about Detriot, again, everyone's talking about Jersey. Which one is more shocking and more proof of maybe, just maybe, there's a big problem here? Rangers tickets are available again, BTW. If they go down 2-0, will they have a hard time hiding it, like they did last year? If they go down 3-0, will the place be short of capacity (clearly) and half full with Sabres fans, like last year? The NHL is doomed as long as Nero keeps fiddling with his BS "record attendance" and "everything is sunny" BS. But who exactly are these people? is this just a hunch on your part or can you provide evidence? I usually make it to a few games a year. I'd love to go to more. I can afford it. But I don't have the time. Working in NYC 'til 6 most nights means there's no way I make it to CAA by gametime during the week. Weekends are family time, and my kid is too small to take to games. Next year I will split season tickets with some buddies because I'll actually be able to make it to The Rock after work and then jump on the same train I take every day anyway to go home.
