Who would you like to play in Round 2?

I would rather not play the sharks just yet, but I'm ready if need be.

I want to play the Sharks, I don't think Calgary will win their series after what happened tonight.

Vancouver. I just think they are another Wild-type team except a little better. I want to avoid the Sharks until the conference finals if we make it.

Oh and I don't think we can play Dallas. If they win their series than we either play San Jose or Calgary.

Gut goes with:

Detroit/SJ
&
Anaheim/Vancouver

Your team had it pretty easy with Minnesota, and you deserved it. You won the Division. But, you made it look easy, and that's dang scary!

Respect to you Ducks...respect!

Vancouver, not because I think they will be "easy" or anything like that. I like the Canucks and think it'll be an interesting series.

If possible, I think SJ/Anaheim in the Conference Finals would be crazy, but thats getting ahead of myslef.

The canucks are having trouble scoring goals in their series so Im thinking that would be the best matchup

Canucks really play like a better version of Minnesota. A little more talent up front (even if they don't always show it), a little better goalie (although it'd be hard for even Luongo to play better than Backstrom did). I don't think it'd be a particularly physically brutal series, which is always a plus.

Too bad Calgary looks like they're going to implode. They got worse this year, we got better, and we were already better than them last year.

Vancouver--the Ducks were quite successful vs. Luongo this season and the Canucks seemed to struggle when they tried to match Anaheim's physical play.

A third round matchup between the ducks and sharks would be great for hockey in California, that's for sure.

I'll take my chance with the "Vancouver Luongos" ive watched nearly all of their playoff games and ive seen more scoring prowess in fork. And plus i can earn some money by talking my roomate (nucks fan) into betting on the games.

Its funny that the both of us (Sharks and Ducks) don't want to play each other yet. The winner of the series, imo, will win the championship.

I don't know about that. I have a bad feeling that whoever limps out of the West will be pretty worn out for whoever wins the East.

Having just dealt with the Wild, I think the Ducks will need relatively fewer adjustments to get ready for the Canucks. As was noted above, the Canucks could be the least grind-y second round matchup which is good for long playoff run considerations.

I also see round 2 as Ducks-Nucks & Wings-Sharks. I think I speak on behalf of all San Jose fans when I say... hope to see you guys no sooner than WCF.

It would be a nice change for the west to have mostly high seeds in the semis. Detroit/SJ would beat up on each other, but the Sharks are tougher and can probably neutralize the Wings skill a bit.

I wonder if Vancouver is mentally done, they have such a pop gun offense. We play them very well but you never know with a goalie like Luongo, but we score those dirty goals. I have a gut feeling we will see the Sharks at some point, hopefully not until the WCF's if possible.

I will be cheering for Vancouver to win and be prepared for the onslaught of their fans ;)

And I think most duck/shark fans feel the same way about not wanting to meet in round two, there's a good chance they'd beat the crap out of each other and not have alot left for the WCF's

It would be harder than vs the Canucks, imo. But it's a lovely challengue to achieve.

I'm assuming every Ducks fan is rooting for Calgary to win the last 2 and eliminate Detroit, but who are you rooting for in the other series? Rather play another boring trap-style series against Vancouver or more of an open, physical, exciting series with San Jose?

As a Wings fan, I'm obviously rooting for Dallas. After the gooning of a Calgary series the last thing I want is to face a physical Sharks team, with the prospect of having to face an even MORE physical Ducks team if I get past them. Even if we did run the gauntlet, itd be a miracle if anyone on the team had the legs or bodily health to keep up with a team like Ottawa or Buffalo in the SCF. My pick:

#1 DET vs. #6 DAL
#2 ANH vs. #5 SJ
(best overall quality of play. Ducks/Sharks would be amazing and Wings/Stars have plenty of history)

Other possibilities:

#1 DET vs. #5 SJ
#2 ANH vs. #3 VAN
(2nd best overall for entertaining games IMO)

#2 ANH vs. #8 CAL
#5 SJ vs. #6 DAL
(Looks to be boring hockey and lopsided series but at least Dallas has more overall skill and depth to make it competative)

#2 AHN vs. #8 CAL
#3 VAN vs. #5 SJ
(my nightmare matchups as far as good hockey with a trap-to-death Canucks team and a completely overmatched Flames team. Lopsided games with even less overall skill that the matchup above)

Vancouver would be ideal. We match up good against them plus their power play has been horrid so far (1 for 26?). San Jose and Detroit would wear each other out and hopefully the winner of that series would be depleted in the Western Conference Finals. Let's go Canucks!

I fear San Jose the most, any way to avoid them would be better.

Vancouver can't be overlooked though, a goalie like Luongo can make them very dangerous, i.e. 2003 ducks.

Its intereting because east is shaping up something similar

Buffalo is going to play an overmatch Rangers, while Ottawa and Devils will beat the life out of each other...

I have to say, I've become a one-night Canucks fan. I really do want the Sharks
to play the Ducks, but I'd prefer it in the Conference Finals. Just the brutal hits
from both sides in that potential series... I wouldn't want to try to win TWO more
series after that head to head matchup.

Either way, good luck in Round 2.
